LEVELING UP through chapter planning sessions Chapter Advisor, Housemother & House Director Engagement

Chapter Strategic Planning Sessions, professionally facilitated by past Grand President Zane Akins, and funded by The Educational Foundation, help chapters identify needs and create goals that contribute to the successful future of their chapter and the Fraternity. Each chapter develops a useful strategic plan to guide the following classes for the next five years.

Brother Akins’ strategy during the sessions is to engage, challenge and keep everyone on track. He feels it is important to let the chapter discuss their issues and have them make decisions on what strategy and actions they want for successful chapter operations.

AGR has been able to overcome them and persevere. The ability to continue to challenge Brothers to grow within their chapter, despite hardships, is one that will leave a lasting impression. It is highly encouraged that chapters take advantage of this opportunity to grow the bonds of Brotherhood stronger by having a thoughtful and thorough strategic plan.

CHAPTER ADVISOR, HOUSEMOTHER AND HOUSE DIRECTOR ENGAGEMENT

Chapter Advisors, Housemothers and House Directors play an integral part in the development of our collegiate members. These leaders are mentors, coaches and advocates for our chapters and the AGR Fraternity experience. The Barrick Advisor Fund and the Marie Coe Fund help pay for this engagement.

Our Advisors across the nation have been engaging with their collegiate members to keep focus on their academics and chapter operations. Our Housemothers and Directors have contributed to provide a guiding hand to our members, keeping them grounded through the new reality around them. Additionally, our Regional Vice Presidents have been leveraging their connections with Advisors, alumni leaders and AGR supporters in their region to keep all groups informed of Fraternity activities, resources and engagement opportunities.

Whether it was interactions with the National Fraternity or participating in interfraternal activities from groups like the North American Interfraternity Conference or CSL Management, Advisors, Housemothers and House Directors have been able to access a variety of educational offerings. Each expands their knowledge of the Greek community and teaches the importance of being flexible in their position.

Specifically, for our Chapter Advisors, Advisor Forum is hosted two to three times a year in Kansas City. Facilitated by Tim Heiller, AGR’s Advisor Forum Coordinator, attendees are able to focus on key programming areas in an open dialog, and create a plan of action to be effective mentors and coaches to their collegiates brothers.

Always providing ever-present, positive support, our Chapter Advisors, Housemothers and Directors spark a resilient mindset among our undergraduate members, which helps inspire them with the necessary confidence to persevere through any situation.
