Exogenous pigments are introduced into the dermis during tattooing, leaving a lasting mark. Although it is being applied to treat numerous medical ailments, tattooing has historically been most frequently employed for decoration. This study examines the patient satisfaction results associated with the use of tattooing in restorative and reconstructive medical procedures. Medical tattooing is the term used here to describe the use of tattoo in such conditions. Medical tattooing is used to treat a variety of diseases as well as for several cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, such as the reconstruction of the breast after radical mastectomy in cancer patients. Becker, S. J., & Cassisi, J. E. (2021, May 4).

Paramedical tattooing is a relatively new idea and is essentially a more sophisticated version of permanent cosmetics. This type of tattoo's primary goal is to restore a person's bodily integrity and, in certain situations, to aid in their psychological recovery following a traumatic occurrence. Utilizing accurate anatomical patterns, paramedical tattoos can be used to restore the appearance of specific body parts in addition to conceal scars, stretch marks, and hair growth. Similar to traditional tattooing, the procedure involves putting pigment into the dermal layer of the skin to alter its look. The medical-grade ink used in paramedical tattoos, however, is intended to blend in rather than stick out.

When necessary, shadows and highlights can be used to give a 3D illusion, and little dots are frequently used in place of solid lines. This results in a more natural-looking finish and allows for seasonal fluctuations in the hue of the skin. Many procedures are typically required for patients to acquire their ideal appearance. Paramedical tattoos are thereafter essentially permanent, with annual touch-ups in some situations advised to retain the optimum effect. Dawson, R. D. W. (2021, May 4).

METHODS:

Unless patients want to camouflage scars from either follicular unit extraction (FUE) or follicular unit transplant (FUT) operations, a hair tattoo works well. In contrast to the follicular unit transplant (FUT), which involves removing a strip of scalp several inches long, the follicular unit extraction (FUE) approach can leave behind thousands of tiny punch-hole scars. It is taken out and then transplanted to a different area of the scalp where donor hair is required. Scalp micropigmentation is a less invasive procedure than regular tattooing.

Our technicians use Follicule, a specifically developed pigment that can be diluted to match any hair and skin tone, instead of ink. To make sure that the pigment is carefully positioned at the right depth, micropigmentation tools and disposable microneedles are employed. Jordan, K. E. I. T. H. M. Y. E. R. S. (2022, January 18).

Micropigmentation, semi-permanent makeup, scar camouflage, cosmetic tattooing, and paramedical micropigmentation are all terms that are frequently used to describe medical tattooing. Several problems, including baldness, vitiligo, surgical scars, and burns, to name a few, can be covered up with this process. HINA SOLANKI. (2017, November 20).

RESULT:

After micropigmentation, there was always a noticeable change in one's appearance, and all patients were satisfied with the results. A touch-up of the micropigmentation was requested by about 22% of the patients to strengthen the lingering pigment. Only one patient experienced a complication of frontal edema. Scalp micropigmentation is a secure and reliable method for masking scars on the scalp. Alvaro C. Traquina Md. (2008, July 7).

Hair transplantation in the thinning area in conjunction with medical treatment to stop further alopecia progression is the most effective treatment for male pattern baldness (MPB). Hair transplantation, while a highly effective treatment for alopecia, unavoidably has pros and cons because it requires donor hair loss, causes pain during and after surgery, and leaves visible scars. Surgery could not even be an option if the donor is in bad condition. More patients with these restrictions are now getting Paramedical tattoos on their scalps in the shaved style (SMT). N;, J. H. P. 1, S. H. Y. 1, N. K. (2018, November 16).

DISCUSSION:

Paramedical tattoos can be applied in treating scars when conventional methods are not indicated. It can be used for the alopecia or hair transplant scars of a patient who does not want a hair graft, for the depigmented scar that would not benefit dramatically from laser treatment, or as camouflage for a three-dimensional structure when surgical reconstruction is not feasible. Kim, E.K. et al. (2011)

Medical tattooing has the power to alter how people feel about themselves and increase their confidence and self-esteem. Because of a lack of confidence, a person's skin condition may have had an impact on their career and interpersonal connections. The knowledge of medical tattooing is crucial for aesthetic professionals because they could be able to refer patients. For instance, doctors or practitioners who are unable to treat vitiligo should suggest that their patients consider getting tattoos for medical purposes. HINA SOLANKI. (2017, November 20).
