Total Wine category demonstrated steady positive value growth, with an increase of +1.9% for the quarter ending 3 August 2025, and +2.6% over the last 12 months.
The Champagne category continues its recovery, with MAT growth of +4.4% despite a seasonal dip of -1.6% in the last Quarter. This performance outpaced both Red Wine (+0.3%) and White Wine (+2.7%) in the same MAT.
The $50-$100 price bracket (in retail price) remains the core of the category, accounting for approximately 80% of total Champagne in retail sales.

Seasonal Momentum: Champagne sees its strongest value uplift in Q2, with momentum beginning from Melbourne Cup week (+75% uplift vs base week).

Xmas - 1 week out: +290%
Peak Week: Champagne value peaks at +590% vs base week during Christmas week. Value share jumps by 7 percentage points, reaching 12% of total wine value during this peak.
Continued Strength: Momentum carries into New Year week (+175%), maintaining high demand.
