‫المعاصرة‪ ،‬إلى خلق فضاء فني عماده الفن‬

‫المعاصر من إنتاج فنانين محليين‪ ،‬فلسطينيين‪،‬‬ ‫عرب وعالميين‪ ،‬لكننا نؤمن في المركز للفنون‬

‫المعاصرة أننا لن نكون مختلفين عن منافسينا‬ ‫في المشهد الفني المحلي كصالة عرض تعرض‬

‫الفنون ما لم نصوب أعيننا نحو المبدعين الناشئين‬ ‫الذين سيكونوا فنانو المستقبل الذين سيتطلع‬ ‫إلى عروضهم الجميع‪ ،‬محليا وعالميا‪ ،‬لنكون داعمين‬

‫لهم أوال‪ ،‬وحاضنين إلنتاجاتاهم الفنية ثانيا‪.‬‬

‫يتيح لك معرض ضمير مستتر إمكانية ارتداء‬

‫قبعة اإلخفاء‪ ،‬بحيث ال يراك وال يشعر‬ ‫بوجودك أحد‪ ،‬أي يمكنك التجول في صالة‬

‫العرض المركز للفنون المعاصرة بحرية كاملة‪.‬‬ ‫عزيزي الزائر‪ ،‬ليست هنالك أي ملكية فنية‬ ‫أو فكرية‪ ،‬أو حقوق نشر لألعمال الفنية‬ ‫المعروضة‬

‫في‬

‫فضاء‬

‫المعرض‪.‬‬

‫بينما‬

‫تستحوذ المتاحف والمعارض على األعمال‬ ‫الفنية‪ ،‬وتريد االستفراد بها واالستفادة‬ ‫منها لما يخدم أجندتها‪ ،‬نتيح لك إمكانية نسخ‬ ‫ولصق ما تشاء وعرضه أينما وكيفما تشاء‪ ،‬أو‬ ‫حتى نسب األعمال إليك‪ ،‬حيث يكفل لك هذا‬ ‫البيان شراكتك في الملكية الجماعية‪ ،‬فهذا‬ ‫المعرض هو ملك عام تم إنتاجه بأموال عامة!‬ ‫وافر الشكر‬ ‫منسق المعرض‬ ‫ّ‬

‫منسق معرض أو من أمين قاعة عرض‬ ‫في وضع مثالي‪ ،‬يتلقى الفنان مكالمة من‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫آمال أن يتم اختياره لعرض أعماله‪ .‬لكن في وضعنا الحالي والمحلي هذا‪ُ ،‬يشكّل‬ ‫الفنان عن ذراعيه ليبدأ مهمة استقصائية بعد مكالمة كهذه ليتحرى عن تاريخ هذا‬ ‫المنسق السياسية‪ ،‬وما هي‬ ‫المنسق‪ :‬ماذا يريد؟ ما هو هذا المعرض؟ ما هي أجندة ُ‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫أجندة المعرض والشارع المبني فيه؟ ما الذي تخفيه الالفتة التي تأخذك إلى اليسار؟‬ ‫قمنا لذلك بالتخفي رغبة فيه وخوفا من عواقبه‪.‬‬ ‫كمنسق شاب أعمل على خط التماس بين الثقافتين‪ :‬الغربية والشرقية‪ .‬لقد تتلمذت‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وأج ْدت استخدام أدواتها حتى باتت تؤهلني لقراءة والتمعن‬ ‫على يد الثقافة الغربية َ‬ ‫في ثقافتي الشرقية التي أعيشها وأتنفسها بشكل مغاير لكن حميمي وأصيل‪،‬‬ ‫ما أدى إلى بناء عالقة ارتباط أقوى في ظل ظروف قد تبدو كإضافات إلضفاء ُبعد‬ ‫رومانسي أكثر على هذه العالقة‪ ،‬مثل مفارقات االنتماء وسؤال الهوية‪ ،‬تعريف‬ ‫الوطنية‪ ،‬صورة العربي‪ ،‬وكل معضلة أخرى يمر بها كل من الفنان ومستهلك الفن ‪.‬‬ ‫تأتي هذه الخطوة لتصعيد هذه الظروف‪ ،‬إلظهارها على السطح ومحاولة تفكيكها‬ ‫والنقاش معها وعنها‪ ،‬وذلك من خالل السؤال ضمن معرض يمارس فعل اإلخفاء‬ ‫أولية لضمان تحقيقه واستمراره‪ .‬اإلخفاء الذي يبدأ منذ لحظة اختيار الفنانين‬ ‫كحاجة‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وحتى تتمة سيرورة اإلنتاج الفني‪ .‬يتطلب الغموض والتكتم جهدا كبيرا للحفاظ عليه‪،‬‬ ‫سيلزم المتلقي بالتيقظ واالنتباه‪ُ ،‬بغية كشف اللثام عن ما هو مخفي ربما‪ ،‬أو‬ ‫كما ُ‬ ‫حتى ممارسة الحاسة السادسة بما لها من مترتبات وما عليها من نتائج‪.‬‬ ‫كان ال بد لنا لذلك من كسر الهالة التي تحيط بالفن لحماية هذه الخصوصية وإخراج‬ ‫المتلقي من مساحته اآلمنة حيث اعتاد رؤية الفن طوال سنوات في حالة واحدة‬ ‫ورتيبة إلى حالة مثيرة للشك والقلق قد تدفع به إلى الدخول في مغامرة لسبر أغوار‬ ‫ما أخفي عنه‪ ،‬أو قد يلجأ إلى أخذ الطريق المختصر وانتظار اإلجابات‪ ،‬إن وجدت‪ .‬وربما‬ ‫يتم في الطريق إلى ذلك فهم إشكاليات الفن الذي نمارسه اليوم‪ ،‬والفروقات بين‬ ‫متلق يدخل معرضا ألول مرة‪ .‬كيف سيقوم كالهما‬ ‫متلق ذو خلفية فنية ما‪ ،‬وبين‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫بقراءة األعمال الفنية؟ ما الذي سيفكراه عن جدار الصفيح األبيض المنصوب في‬ ‫صالة عرض للفنون؟ هل سيتساءل أحدهما فيما إذا كان هذا الجدار جزء من المبنى‬ ‫أو عمل فني؟ وما هو العمل الفني بدءا من نافورة دوشامب وانتهاء بموزة ملصقة‬ ‫على الجدار بالصق فضي؟‬ ‫حنَّ ا قبطي‬

‫أدب المعركة المتحايل‬ ‫في وقت ال يستطيع فيه الكثيرون التنفس‪،‬‬

‫البروتوكوالت التي خضعنا لها طوال سنوات‬

‫ليصبح ألسماء المضطهدين إيقاع أيقوني‬

‫وهي بروتوكوالت لم ننتجها بل قمنا باستيرادها‬

‫واالضطهاد غلب عليها الطابع السلمي‪ ،‬طالما‬

‫خاطئة في معظمها‪ ،‬ال تعي خاصية المكان‬

‫يحرص البعض على تسمية األشياء بمسمياتها‬

‫طويلة من تاريخ ممارسة الفن في فلسطين‪،‬‬

‫يشعل ثورات ومعارك مناهضة للعنصرية‬

‫غير آبهين بمدى مالءمتها لنا‪ ،‬قياسات كانت‬

‫كان الفن على اختالف توجهاته أحد أذرعها‪.‬‬

‫وال الزمان‪ ،‬تلبستنا بطبعها‪ ،‬وتلبسناها سعيا‬

‫في معركة شبيهة تجري وقائعها هنا‪ ،‬كان على‬

‫للكمال حتى كدنا ونكاد أن نخسر المعركة‪.‬‬

‫خوفا أو رهبة‪ ،‬بل سعيا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الجنود التحايل‪ ،‬ليس‬

‫يسعى هذا المعرض إلى التحرر من أعباء النقد‬

‫يمارسه الفنان ليجذب اإلنتباه نحو آراءه‪،‬‬

‫أخفت نفسها وهويتها الجندرية وتوجهاتها‬

‫إلى أفق قد يظهر فيه خالص‪ ،‬أو تنفيس‬

‫"الكالسيكية" بمساعدة الضمائر المستترة التي‬

‫مفاهيمه وتقنياته دون أن يتحايل عليه طرف‪،‬‬

‫المحملة بسياقات ال‬ ‫السياسية وأسمائها‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫يمكن االنعتاق منها لوال هذا التحايل; حقل‬

‫معايير ال يستطيع الفنان النمو داخلها‪ .‬فإما أن‬

‫يستترون خلف آرائهم فيما يحركون األرجوحة‬

‫حتى ليظن أنه يقوم باحتضانه فيما هو يحاول‬ ‫دق عنقه‪ ،‬ودون أن تالحقه سلطات رقابة ذات‬

‫تجريبي يتم أرجحة المتلقي فيه على يد فنانين‬

‫يخرس صوته ‪.‬‬ ‫يسكت طواعية‪ ،‬أو أن َ‬

‫بصمت وخفة واختيال‪.‬‬

‫النارين‪ ،‬يتحايل هؤالء الفنانون‬ ‫وبين هاتين‬ ‫ّ‬

‫الفلسطينيون على النظام الذي يرغب كل من‬

‫المؤلف الذي يلبس القناع‬

‫فيه االختباء‪ .‬يقلق الفنانون ويتحدون في‬

‫الحيز ولهذا الغرض راقب الفنانون‬ ‫في هذا‬ ‫ّ‬

‫"المعلنة"‬ ‫المتلقي فقط‪ ،‬بعدما أجازتها الجهة‬ ‫ُ‬

‫الفن بأوجهه العديدة وتنقلوا من تقنية إلى‬

‫حي الشيخ جراح‪ ،‬شرقي مدينة القدس‪،‬‬ ‫هنا في ّ‬

‫هذا المعرض تتبع مسيرتهم الشخصية دون‬

‫فضاء يجمع ثالثة عشر عمال فنيا تخضع لسطوة‬

‫سيرورة أعمالهم طوال سنوات مارسوا خاللها‬

‫بمنسق المعرض والداعي إليه‪،‬‬ ‫الوحيدة المتمثلة‬ ‫ّ‬

‫أخرى ومن وسيط إلى آخر‪ .‬طلِ ب منهم في‬

‫في معرض يثير أسئلة أكثر مما يعطي اإلجابات‪.‬‬

‫أن يكملوا السير على خطاها‪ ،‬بل أن يوجزوا‬

‫ليس لهذا المعرض دعامات أو ضمانات أو‬

‫رؤى واضحة‪ .‬كل ما يحدث فيه هو إشكاليات‬ ‫العرض والمكان‪ ،‬مفارقات تجري فيه وعلى‬ ‫حدوده وبين جهات المعركة‪ ،‬وتكهنات واهية‬

‫قواعدها ومن ثم يكسروها بغية إنتاج عمل فني‬

‫اآلمنة إلى مساحات أكثر عمقا ووضوحا‪ ،‬نتجاوز‬ ‫فيه من زيارة المعرض كنشاط ما بعد حداثي‬ ‫ترفيهي اعتدنا عليه في نهاية األسبوع إلى‬ ‫فعل أكثر جدية وأقل برجوازية ‪-‬ربما‪ -‬حيث نطلع‬ ‫فيه على المدرسة النقدية ونتعلم (أو نتمرن)‬ ‫على عبور مرحلة الشخوص ما وراء األعمال‪،‬‬ ‫إلى ما بعدها‪ ،‬ومن قصد الفنان ودوافعه إلى‬ ‫ما يراه المتلقي في العمل وفي بنائه الشكلي‬ ‫المعروض في هذا الحيز‪ ،‬وعالقته باألشكال‬ ‫األخرى المرافقة التي تداخلت معه واتفقت‬ ‫تعمد الموت هنا عبر‬ ‫على موت المؤلف الذي‬ ‫ّ‬

‫إخفاءه لنفسه‪ ،‬معلنا بذلك تحرر العمل الفني‬

‫من كل مرجعية سوى مرجعيته لذاته‪.‬‬

‫العمل الفني في معرض ضمير مستتر خاضع‬ ‫لسطوة المنسق الشخصية ‪ -‬الذي يقرر مكانه‬ ‫ومكانته ‪ -‬وسطوة المتلقي الذي لن يتوانى‬ ‫في الحكم على األعمال "مقطوعة النسب"‬ ‫بجرأة وعنف‪ ،‬فهو يشاهد العمل القائم بحد ذاته‬ ‫للمرة األولى دون أن يضطر إلى التنقيب عن‬ ‫هوية الفنان وممارساته السابقة‪ ،‬ليقارنها أو‬ ‫يقاربها‪ ،‬أو يحتكم إليها عند إصدار حكمه عليها‪،‬‬ ‫بل سيجدها فرصة لقراءة إبداعية ومغايرة‪،‬‬ ‫يتمكن فيها من إعادة بناء وتفكيك المعاني وفقا‬ ‫لما يراه وما يتذوقه‪ ،‬لتتفوق سلطة النص ‪ -‬أو‬ ‫العمل الفني في هذه الحالة ‪ -‬جنبا إلى سلطة‬

‫جديد وحصري‪ ،‬ال ينتمي إلى مسيرة أعمالهم‬

‫القيم على سلطة مؤلف هذا العمل‪ ،‬أي الفنان‪.‬‬ ‫ّ‬

‫يبدو مستقال اآلن‪.‬‬

‫يلعب منسق معرض ضمير مستتر الدور‬

‫السابقة بل يؤسس عمال جديدا بضمير مستتر‪،‬‬

‫األبرز‪ ،‬فهو الداعي إلى هذا الحراك الثائر ضد‬

‫يرتكز عليها الفنان الفلسطيني محاوال االنتصار‬

‫إذا من هذا الحيز‪ ،‬من عصر ما بعد بعد‬ ‫مرحبا بكم ً‬

‫القوالب التقليدية في الفن في المنطقة‪ .‬هو‬

‫المعرض أو العمل الفني‪ .‬هذا باإلضافة إلى‬

‫فقد جاء هذا المعرض ليخرجنا من مساحاتنا‬

‫العمل الجماعي هو عمل يجب أن يحمل اسمه‬

‫تعرف‬ ‫وكسر التابوهات واألنماط التقليدية التي ّ‬

‫‪ّ 1‬‬ ‫الضمير املُس َت ِتر‬ ‫هو ّ‬ ‫الضمير الذي يكون خفي ًا غير ظاهر في النطق والكتابة‬

‫الحداثة‪ ،‬حيث ُيلقى على المتلقي الحمل الثقيل‪،‬‬

‫المحرر أيضا‪ ،‬حتى صار باإلمكان اإلدعاء بأن هذا‬

‫‪ 2‬مارتن هايدجر‪ ،‬أصل العمل الفني‪.‬‬ ‫‪" 3‬مدعو"‬

‫المنسق أيضا‬ ‫في غياب وتستر الفنانين‪ .‬قام‬ ‫ّ‬

‫ بحكم سلطته التقليدية ‪ -‬بتجريد هذه األعمال‬‫من سياقات النصوص المتهالكة التي عادة ما‬

‫ترافقها‪ ،‬واستبدالها بوصف رسمي ومحايد‬ ‫لبنية العمل تجنبا لسيطرة التفسير األحادي‬ ‫والثابت الذي عادة ما يسيطر على االتجاهات‬

‫معان ال نهائية‪،‬‬ ‫النقدية الكالسيكية ويمنحها‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫وتفاديا ألي طرق ُمختصرة إلى المعاني التي‬ ‫المنتجة‪ ،‬محفزا‬ ‫تتحملها وتحملها األعمال الفنية ُ‬

‫بذلك التيقظ واستنطاق األعمال وفقا لما يقوم‬

‫بتأويله المتلقي‪ ،‬الذي كان من السهل عليه‬ ‫االحتكام إلى النص المرافق وفهم المقاصد‬

‫ومعان‬ ‫التي أرادها الفنان مما يعني وأد أسئلة‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫وحوار قد يولد بين المتلقي والعمل‪.‬‬ ‫وفيما يحتدم النقاش بين إعالن روالن بارت عن‬

‫موت المؤلف‪ ،‬وبين مارتن هيدجر‪ 2‬الذي يصر‬ ‫على حياة الفنان ويرى به أصل العمل الفني‬

‫وأن جوهر العمل الفني هو الفنان‪ ،‬وأن الفن‬ ‫يقيم الحقيقة‪ ،‬يشارك المنسق‪ ،‬وهو ابن اليوم‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وتلميذ جميع من ذكر‪ ،‬ليقف عند حدود النظريتين‬

‫يلبس فيها‬ ‫ويبني مستوطنته الخاصة التي ِ‬ ‫الفنانين قناعا يخفي وجوههم‪ ،‬لألسباب التي‬ ‫ذكرتها وألسباب سأقوم بذكرها فيما بعد‪.‬‬

‫"ال يعني هذا أن المؤلف ال يمكن أن يعاود‬ ‫مجددا في النص‪ ،‬في نصه‪ ،‬لكنه لو‬ ‫الظهور‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عاد سيكون في صورة ‪ 3‬مدعو"‬

‫الطريق نحو التخفي‬ ‫مرحبا من أورشليم‪ ،‬من عصر ما بعد بعد الحداثة‬ ‫أنا ال أعرف أحدا هنا‪ ،‬كما ال يعرفني أحد‪ .‬كما‬

‫والتي كانت بمثابة فرصة لهم إلنتاج عمل فني‬

‫الم ّ‬ ‫سلمات‪,‬‬ ‫ما يحدث هنا هو أشبه بثورة ضد ُ‬

‫على العشاء ليلة االفتتاح‪ ،‬والنقاش فيما‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الغث والسمين‬ ‫بينهم‪ .‬سأكون بغنى عن سماع‬

‫فنان مجهول في نهاية األمر‪ ،‬بل سيحكمون‬

‫الفنية‪ ،‬والتساؤل‬ ‫كثيرة‪ ،‬تفكيك البروتوكوالت‬ ‫ّ‬

‫لن يلتقي جميع المشاركون في هذا المعرض‬

‫العرس الفني الذي‬ ‫من الكالم‪ ،‬اآلراء حول هذا ُ‬ ‫أقمناه‪ ،‬وهذا الوطن‪ ،‬وهذه المدينة المقدسة‪،‬‬ ‫التي أنكرتنا على حين غفلة فيما ال نزال نحاول‬

‫استمالتها كل ليلة بال تعب‪ .‬كان على األمر أن‬ ‫يبدأ بلعبة‪ ،‬وأن ينتهي بسر مقدس!‬

‫لم يكن حصول كل هذا أمرا سهال ‪ -‬ال الكاتالوج‬

‫الذي تحملونه بين أيديكم‪ ،‬وال المعرض الذي‬ ‫تتجولون فيه‪ ،‬وال األعمال التي تحيط بكم‪.‬‬

‫المنسق بشكل سري مع فنانين‬ ‫تواصل‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫فلسطينيين فاعلين في الحقل الفني المحلي‬

‫والعالمي لعرض أعمالهم في صالة عرض المركز‬ ‫للفنون المعاصرة‪ ،‬لكنه قوبل بالرفض إلشكالية‬ ‫تخوف الفنانون‬ ‫المكان الذي تمثله صالة العرض‪ّ .‬‬ ‫من وحش "التطبيع" الذي سيرافقهم في حال‬

‫عرضوا أعمالهم بشكل علني‪ ،‬ومن اإلجابة عن‬

‫سؤال التمويل‪ ،‬والتحفظ من مسألة التعاون‬ ‫مع جهات إسرائيلية‪ .‬ومن هنا ُولدت فكرة‬

‫المعرض المختلفة عن السائد أثناء محادثات‬

‫المنسق مع معارفه وأصدقاءه حول‬ ‫أقامها‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫"اإلحتيال على النظام"‪ .‬قرر المنسق بعدها أن‬

‫يقيم معرضا دون أسماء‪ ،‬تُ خفى فيه هويات‬

‫الفنانين المشاركين عن الجمهور وعن زمالئهم‬

‫الفنانين المشاركين حيث ال يعرف أحدهم اآلخر‪،‬‬

‫وال يعرف عددهم أحد‪ ،‬حيث تم التواصل مع كل‬ ‫فنان فرديا حتى القت هذه الفكرة استحسانهم‪،‬‬

‫مختلف‪ ،‬جريء ومتحرر‪ .‬ال أحد يستطيع محاكمة‬ ‫العمل ويمضون‪.‬‬

‫أنتِ ج طوال العام ‪ 13‬عمل فني حاول فيه‬

‫الفنانين والفنانات االنعتاق من أنفسهم‬

‫والعمل على مواضيع مختلفة لم يعتادوا العمل‬ ‫عليها‪ ،‬باستخدام وسائط جديدة منحتهم الفرصة‬

‫للعمل واإلبداع بشكل حر دون أن يعملوا‬ ‫حسابا لما سيقابلهم من نقد‪ ،‬حتى قاموا‬ ‫مكون من أعمال تبدو وكأنها‬ ‫أخيرا بخلق معرض‬ ‫ّ‬

‫تنتمي إلى طبقة واحدة تحوم حولها هالة‬ ‫"اشتراكية" واحدة‪ ،‬أيا ما كان المصير الذي‬

‫بتساو ويعود على‬ ‫ستالقيه‪ ،‬سيفرض عليها‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫جميع من فيها‪.‬‬ ‫إذا كانت األعمال الفنية المعروضة هي بمثابة‬

‫احتيال على التابوهات إلعادة تعريف مصطلحات‬ ‫عن ما هو الفلسطيني‪ :‬فنّ ه‪ ،‬أدبه‪ ،‬مسكنه‪،‬‬

‫عاداته وتقاليده‪ ،‬الفولكلور والتراث الذي عادة‬ ‫عبر عنه بأشكال بصرية "كيتش"‪ ،‬المراوغات‬ ‫ما ُي ّ‬

‫في تعريف الهوية‪ ،‬القدس ‪ -‬شرقيها من‬ ‫غربيها ‪ ،-‬التطبيع أين يبدأ وأين ينتهي‪،‬‬ ‫األديان التي نلتزم بها كتراث شكلي وأدبي‪،‬‬

‫الجندر الذي اختزلنا كل أحاديثنا فيه‪ ،‬الوسائط‬ ‫المهيمنة في الفن المحلي والعالمي‪ ،‬التجريب‬ ‫وحدوده‪ ..‬اآليقونات من الكرسي وإلى فنجان‬

‫الشاي‪ ،‬أعمال الريدي ميد‪ ،‬الرأس مالية‪ ،‬ثقافة‬ ‫االستهالك والمحاكاة الساخرة‪ ،‬غياب المنهجية‪،‬‬

‫والسردية والقصة وتخبطاتنا وانعدام التعريفات‬

‫الواحدة لكل ما يحيط بنا‪ ،‬واختيار التخفي في‬ ‫سبيل النجاة‪.‬‬

‫مواقف‪ ،‬سواء كانت خجلة أو جريئة‪ ،‬اتخذها أصحابها‬ ‫وفقا لما هو سائد من أنماط ووسائط وتقنيات‪،‬‬

‫فإن هذا المعرض هو الموقف األبرز في الحقل‬ ‫الفني الفلسطيني‪ ،‬وكما قال بورديو‪ :"4‬إن حقل‬

On the Road to Disguise Welcome to the post-postmodern era in Jerusalem

Literature as a deceptive tool At a time when many people cannot breathe, some wish to name things by their names so that the names of the oppressed gain an iconic rhythm that ignites revolutions and battles against racism and persecution dominated by a peaceful manner that art has long been one of its expressions.

In a similar battle taking place here, the soldiers had to seek salvation and venting in a new horizon where they can attract attention to their opinions, concepts and techniques without being censored or pursued by authorities that prohibit them from growing, so they either silence them voluntarily or have their voices muted.

In between, these Palestinian artists deceive the system where everyone wants to hide.

They become anxious and unite in a space where thirteen artworks are subject to the recipient’s authority only, after the only "declared" entity (the curator), here in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in East

Jerusalem, in an exhibition that raises more questions than answers.

This exhibition has no supporters, guarantees or clear visions, but the location and display issues: the paradoxes within, fuzzy speculations on which the Palestinian artist relies, trying to win and break the taboos and traditional patterns that define the exhibition or artwork, in addition to

the protocols that have been dominant for many years in Palestine. We did not

create these protocols but imported them without them being right for us or the

characteristics of place or time. They have controlled us since, and we surrendered

to them in pursuit of perfection and have almost lost the battle.

This exhibition seeks to free itself from the burden of "classical" criticism with the help of invisible artists that concealed themselves, their gender identities, political views, and “loaded” names in contexts they could not be liberated from without deception, creating thus an experimental field where the recipient is being played by artists that hide behind their opinions while moving the swing quietly, lightly and slyly.

The Masked Author In this field, and for that purpose, the artists have overseen the process of their work for years, during which they produced in different ways, and different mediums and techniques. They were asked to break their own rules and create a new

exerting us from our safe space into deeper and clearer areas, where we no longer visit an exhibition as a postmodern weekend activity but in more serious and less bourgeois way - perhaps - where we are exposed to the critical school and learn (or practice) to ignore the personas behind the work and their intentions and motives for what the recipient sees in the work itself and its relationship to the other artworks that have declared the artist dead and liberated the work from all reference except for its own.

The exhibition is subject only to the authority of the curator and the recipient that will not hesitate to judge works couragely and aggressively, for they see the work erected independently for the first time, without having to dig into the artist's identity and past work and compare between them, or judge them. the recipient will see in this an opportunity to read the work creatively and differently, and reconstruct and deconstruct the meanings according to what they see.

Before taking part in an exhibition, the artist usually receives a call from a curator or exhibition coordinator asking them to show their work in an exhibition. But in our current and local situation, the artist starts an investigative mission after such a call to find out about the curator's history: What does he want? What is this exhibition about? What is Cutaro agenda? so we decided to exhibit the artworks under disguise.

As a young coordinator, I work on the contact line between the Western and the Eastern cultures. I acquired a Western influenced education and learned to use its tools to read and reflect on my Eastern culture that I live and breathe in an intimate and authentic way. This has led to building a stronger bonding relationship under circumstances that may appear to be mere efforts to romanticise this relationship, in ways that appear in the paradox of belonging, the questions of identity, the definition of patriotism, the image of the Arab, and every other dilemma both the artist and the art recipient might have.

This escalates these circumstances, brings them to the surface and tries to deconstruct and discuss them, through a concealment based exhibition.

The concealment starts from the moment the artists are chosen until the artistic production process ends. Ambiguity and secrecy require a great effort to preserve it, and the recipient will be required to remain vigilant and aler, in order to unveil what is hidden.

We had to break the aura that surrounds art in order to protect this privacy and remove the recipients from their safe space - as they used to see art for years in one repetitive way - and throwing them into a wild adventure to explore the depths of what is hidden; or rather take the short cuts and wait for answers, if there is any. Or maybe, we could grasp the dilemmas of art as we practice it today, and the differences between a recipient with artistic background and a recipient entering an exhibition for the first time. How will they both read the artwork? What would they think of the white tin wall inside the gallery - will they wonder if this wall is a part of the building?
