Meet the artist

Marie has a background in Art and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. She spent her early career as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher and Kindergarten teacher. In addition, she has two young children of her own, Brandon and Alexandra (whom she named her business after). When she decided to pursue her love of photography as a business, she found her true passion a perfect mix of art and working with children and families! In her spare time, Marie and her family like to walk their dog Georgia, go mini golfing, and tell each other silly jokes.

What to expect

What can you expect during a photo session with Ally and B Photography? Well for one, you can expect to have a relaxed experience! During a session with me, you can expect a few “traditional” photos where everyone is posed and smiling and looking at the camera, however, you can also expect to not be looking at the camera for most of the photo session. My work focuses on the people and the real emotional connections between them. During a newborn photo session, you can expect to be in a beautiful, pristine studio space where I will welcome you in to make yourself comfortable and offer you snacks and water. Then sit back and relax while I wrap, soothe, and take beautiful photos of your new baby.

Booking details

Newborn sessions are typically done when baby is 5-10 days old. When booking, we decide on a tentative date 5-10 days after the due date and then parents let me know when they’ve had the baby so we can decide if we can keep the original date or if we need to change it.

In order to secure the session date, all clients must sign the contract and pay the retainer fee. The retainer fee is 50% of the session cost and will be applied to the final balance. The final balance is due two days before the session.

I provide all wraps, props and accessories for the newborn session. Parents do not need to bring anything except diapers, wipes, and milk or formula. 1-2 days before the session, parents will be sent a session prep guide so they know how to prepare for a successful newborn session.

For studio sessions: I am now requiring all clients upon entering the studio to take off their shoes and leave them by the door inside the studio, as well as clean their hands with sanitizer (provided) when walking into the studio. Masks are now optional in the studio when clients are not being photographed. I use sanitizer throughout the session and will have a mask on at the client’s request. All props and touched surfaces, baby hats and headbands will be disinfected after the session, as well as wraps washed.

All outdoor maternity sessions are scheduled in the evening as close to sunset as possible to ensure the best light. Sessions will be rescheduled due to inclement weather (i.e. rain, snow, extreme wind), but will not be for cloudy or overcast skies. I recommend maternity sessions to be done around 32-34 weeks of pregnancy. I offer a $200 discount when clients book a maternity session along with any of the newborn session packages.
