1 GREEN GROOVES

August 2024 - December 2024

PROJECT CONTEXT:

This empty building sits in the heart of Springdale, Arkansas, located outside of Faye eville, Arkansas. Starting this project, in the Fall semester of 2024, we were to create a music/ co ee shop space by incorporating a natural material as the main material. Having the material bamboo, creating a warm, welcoming, and sustainable space was this project’s main goal. Pops of greens lighten the co ee and music shop, and brings a comforting ambiance to those who enter the space.

2 NEXT STEELCASE COMPETITION

January 2024 - May 2024

PROJECT CONTEXT:

In the Spring of 2024, our studio competed in the NEXT Steelcase Competition, which entailed designing a 11,000sf o ce workplace, along with a 4,000sf mezzanine, located in Dallas, TX. While designing this o ce space, I used inspiration from the surrounding city to create my concept: Next Neighborhood. Next Neighborhood is a workplace that encourages newness in a working environment: belonging within a diverse community, supporting di erent types of work and adaptability, promoting collaboration throughout open spaces to increase trust, and carrying out the idea of promoting a self controlled work day.

3 STEM LIBRARY OF THINGS

August 2023 - December 2023

PROJECT CONTEXT:

The “Library of Things” project was completed in the Fall semester of 2023, and focused on creating an adaptive reuse STEM Library where users can borrow and return items, learn about STEM throughout the space, and promote a sense of community within. While designing the STEM Library, I used inspiration from how STEM acts as a “Timeless” subject in our education to create my concept: OLD vs. NEW. STEM has been taught since the beginning of time, and will continue to be used in the future. Old vs. New is seen throughout the STEM Library by using old materials and new materials used in stem, and showcasing objects used in STEM.

CONTEXT:

This nursing home is located in Paderborn, Germany. While reinventing the 150,000sf existing building, you are to envision a multi-level nursing home that fulfills the needs for a retired community, along with designing for visitors. This project focuses on designing around the importance of patient movements throughout the use of space. Imperative design includes incorporating Universal Design codes, and adaptive reuse while creating an inclusive environment in multi-spaced units and commons.
