The Parish Choir of All Saints, Fulham
The Parish Choir of All Saints Church, Fulham sings for the 10.30am Eucharist and 6pm Evensong Sunday services at the church, and is regarded as one of the best choirs of its tpe in the countr. At these services it performs a wide range of music, both popular cathedral-stle repertoire and more unusual music – from striking South American baroque works to South African choral dances and new commissions by contemporar composers.
In addition to these sung services, the choir also sings on other occasions – from the top of the church tower on Ascension Day, at the dawn Vigil on Easter Sunday, and for numerous carol services and concerts including at the London International Festival of Early Music. In recent years they have broadcast live on BBC1 (Christmas Day) and Radio 4. They also tour Britain and abroad, most recently visiting Southwell, St David’s, Ely, Bur St Edmunds, Lincoln, Wells, Chichester, Ireland, Canterbur, Winchester, Durham and France among many others. They have hosted workshops with Stile Antico, Andrew Nethsingha, (Westminster Abbey), Martin Near (Westminster Abbey, Winchester Cathedral), Stephen Jackson (BBC Symphony Chorus) and David Hill, (BBC Singers, St John’s College, Cambridge). Entr is by audition with the direcor of music; he is always keen to hear from interested singers in all voice parts.
Junior All Saints Singers (JASS)
Junior All Saints Singers (JASS) is All Saints’ children’s choir. The choir rehearses ever Monday evening during term time (excluding half term) and leads the worship once a month at the 9.30am Family Service and occasional special services.
There are no auditions – all that is required is an eagerness to sing and a commitment to attend the weekly rehearsal and monthly service. The direcor of music strives to develop the children’s vocal technique and instil a sense of responsibilit for the choir’s leadership of the Family Service liturgy, while working on a varied and appealing repertoire. If you are interested in joining, please contac the direcor of music.
