Development Cooperation Agency of the Korean Government The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), established in 1991, is a governmental agency dedicated to providing Korea’s grant aid programs. KOICA aims to promote amicable, cooperative relationship and mutual exchanges with developing countries by rendering support for their socioeconomic development. To this end, KOICA has been engaging in a wide range of schemes including the Project and DEEP, Fellowship Program, World Friends Korea, Humanitarian assistance & Disaster Relief, Public-Private Partnership, Multilateral Cooperation and the Global Disease Eradication Fund.

KOICA Fellowship Program, CIAT Like its acronym that sounds like "seed" in Korean, CIAT hopes to spread seeds of hope across developing countries.

CIAT is a cooperation program where policy-makers, public servants and experts from developing countries are invited to Korea for technical training and knowledge sharing.

CIAT has established partnerships with a multitude of public organizations, research institutes, universities and

others in Korea to offer quality training programs. Such efforts have resulted in a high level of satisfaction among participants. After returning to their home countries, CIAT participants play a role in spreading Korea's commitment and goodwill towards their society.

Goals of CIAT To contribute to the socio-economic development in developing countries by sharing Korea's development experiences and know-how accumulated in the process of its remarkable economic development and supporting their capacity development efforts.

(Capacity Development for Human Resources) To strengthen HR capacity in developing countries to lay the foundation for sustainable socio-economic development

(Capacity Development for Systems and Institutions) To strengthen institutional capacity of developing countries to help them address their own development challenges

KOICA International Cooperation Center The International Cooperation Center(ICC) is the all-inclusive training facility established by KOICA to ensure the optimal learning environment for CIAT participants. It has a total of 300 guest rooms, an international conference hall, lecture rooms and amenities.

CIAT, initiated with just 362 annual beneficiaries, has developed into a representative capacity development brand that provides training opportunities to more than 6,000 participants annually, and is expanding every year to serve the growing requests among parter countries.

KOICA supports KOICA Clubs, alumni associations voluntarily organized by CIAT participants, in 55 countries across the globe. Through the Clubs, KOICA is strengthening global networks as well as friendship with global neighbourhood.
