COUNTY MANAGER DECISION NEARING

T

he first of two informational meetings on creating a county manager for Otsego County is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Oneonta City Hall County Rep. Meg Kennedy, C-Hartwick, who chairs the county board’s Administration Committee, announced the second will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Otsego County Courthouse in Cooperstown. A public hearing on the creation of a county manager position was set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, the county Board of Representatives next meeting. After that hearing, the county reps could vote that same day on the position. s drivers have been noticing, the Town of Hartwick has posted 12 “You Have Arrived” signs at entry points to the community and its hamlets. The signs can be seen entering the Route 28 business district, near Toddsville (Historic Mill Village), Hartwick Seminary (Home of the first Lutheran Seminary in America), and at the Hamlet of Hartwick at Routes 205 and 11. The signs grew out of a collaboration between the town board, the highway department and the Hartwick Historical Society. The project, from planning to installation, took many months but is now complete, Town Clerk Andrea Vasquez reports.
