tudents from Cooperstown Central School will join student groups from Canajoharie, Sharon Springs, and Cobleskill at a Rally for Our Lives at 1 p.m. March 24 in Cobleskill Centre Park. The rally, like one in Oneonta, is a sister event to a national March for Our Lives in Washington D.C., featuring music and speakers calling for common sense gun safety measures. IN MEMORIAM: Harvey Leventhal, 90, a prominent neurosurgeon on Staten Island who retired to Cooperstown, died Tuesday, March 6, at Albany Medical Center. ASSAULT ARREST: Houston S. Hollister, 33, was arrested after an investigation revealed he allegedly assaulted a Springbrook resident. HENSON RETIRES: Jack Henson, county Veterans Affairs director, is retiring, to be replaced by Dennis Clark. FUNERAL PLANNED: The funeral for Rev. Doug Deer will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Cooperstown Baptist Church, 21 Elm St.
