Cornish Hill Family Flees Home Ablaze COOPERSTOWN
A
husband and wife fled a burning home at 312 Cornish Hill Road early Friday, Dec. 29, after a blaze broke out on the back wall where the fireplace was located. Fire crews from Middlefield were called out at 4 a.m. and quickly called for support in extinguishing the blaze before it consumed the entire house, which was owned and occupied by Eric H. T
he first two “Seward Summits” heralded the most powerful drive for economic development in Otsego County since the go-go 1960s. That drive sputtered in midsummer with the wholesale resignation of the staff at Otsego Now, the county’s economicdevelopment arm. Undeterred, state Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, is going back at it. He is planning a third summit, sometime next spring, he told the Otsego Chamber’s State of the State Breakfast Tuesday, Jan. 2, at SUNY Oneonta’s Morris Hall.
