UNY Oneonta has ranked among the top 100 colleges in the Northeast for the 10th consecutive year, according to U.S. News and World Report’s 2016 ranking of “Best Colleges,” set for release Wednesday, Sept. 9. The college sits at No. 47 in the “Best Regional Universities–North” category, which includes Mid-Atlantic and New England schools that offer undergraduate and master’s degrees. Among public institution, SUNY Oneonta ranked ninth.

The annual Susquehanna Balloon Festival proceeded with its usual sedateness over Labor Day Weekend, except for a balloon that underwent a forced landing near Emmons Saturday evening, Sept. 5. The balloon was packed up and returned by land to Neahwa Park. No injuries reported.
