he hottest show in Oneonta isn’t at Foothills or the Southside Cinema – it’s at the SUNY Oneonta Planetarium. The monthly Thursday night planetarium display has sold out for the entire semester. “There’s a lot of demand for our program,”
said Dr. Jason Smolinski, the SUNY physical science assistant professor who hosts the hour-long happening. “Every show has been sold out.” In addition to the Thursday night events, he also uses the planetarium for his intro and advanced astronomy classes, and opens the facilities for pupils in local schools. “A lot of students didn’t even know we had this,” said Smolinski. “It’s been here for 50 years.” Please See PLANETS, B2
