Aida ‘Superlative Musical Experience’

he innovative Glimmerproduction of Verdi’s “Aida” confronts the tragic realms of military reality – commonly concealed by propaganda and evasion. Military “adventures” kill and maim to ensure the supposed benefits of social change. One of the many ironic

touches in this production features male dancers thumping about in Bremer-boots – the kind made notorious by one of the earlier architects of yet another “intervention” – or, honestly put, foreign war. This innovative production exaggerates for effect, if any imitation of battle and social
