Serving the Italian community
by Alloranews
it was just day trips for Italian seniors, who after having worked hard and raised families felt that they needed to get out and see the world. Paramount Tours provided the perfect avenue for them to create new experiences and see places that they probably didn’t have time to see previously. Along with like-minded people a network of friends was created and many would reunite on these tours to enjoy fruit picking, celebrating the annual Salami Festival in Griffith to the famous “Spaghettata Days” on a Hunter Valley winery.

Paramount Tours started as a humble one-man band by Salvatore Di Leva 20 years ago. He bought his first minibus, a 20 seater Nissan, using credit cards and the money he had scraped together from previous employment. After cutting ties with his previous profession (shoe maker) he ventured into the transport and tourism sector - a natural progression for such a vivacious and gregarious person.
His first vehicle purchase catapulted him into the world of tourism - a roller coaster ride that had lasted 20 years.
It goes without saying that the minibus was the beginning of a long and enduring career serving the Italian community. Initially

With the growth of the fleet of vehicles and the purchase of larger vehicles (coaches) which could seat many more people, the business expanded into day charters, school charters and sport/athletic carnivals, army, navy and airforce transport and everything in between - even the Italian Navy when in Australia.
At this point, along comes Laura, Salvatore’s faithful and hard-working right-hand person. Her entry into the business heralded a new era in transport and tourism for Paramount Tours, with the expansion of the fleet to 12 vehicles, a new bus depot and a brand new state-of-the-art coach. The new coach was the business’s pride and joy. They even went to see the coach on the production line at the manufacturer in Brazil.
At this point, the business had expended to include many day charters, overnight trips, extended tours and overseas tours. The primary focus was always and still continues to be providing service to their loyal client base, of which 90% are senior Italians, which many have transitioned to close friends.
Salvatore and Laura continue to provide new and exciting tours for all of their clients and are looking forward to many more years serving the Italian community.
