Dear community,
As I write this letter, I’m inspired by the countless ways LBCC serves as a launchpad for our community members. Every day, I witness the power of education in action—students discovering new passions, developing career skills, and building foundations for their futures. This is especially true for our transfer-bound students, who find LBCC to be a vital stepping stone toward their bachelor’s degrees and beyond.
LBCC has a long history of creating pathways to four-year institutions, providing students with a high-quality, accessible, and affordable foundation for their higher education. Our transfer programs offer distinct advantages: smaller class sizes, personalized attention from dedicated faculty, significantly lower costs, and the opportunity to explore academic interests before committing to a university major. These advantages empower our students to discover their strengths while preparing them for success at institutions like Oregon State University and beyond.
Responding to our community’s diverse educational needs remains a key part of our mission. Whether you’re seeking a degree, certificate, new career skills, or simply exploring a personal interest, the courses in this Extended Learning catalog reflect our commitment to serving learners of all ages and backgrounds. From professional development workshops to enrichment classes, these offerings connect education to your definition of success.
“Education for All” isn’t just our slogan—it’s the core principle guiding everything we do. This principle comes to life in our community education programs, which provide learning opportunities that extend beyond traditional academics. These programs serve as bridges, connecting diverse community members with opportunities for growth, connection, and advancement.
I encourage you to explore this catalog and discover the many ways LBCC can help you achieve your passionate, purposeful goals. Whatever educational path you’re considering, remember that LBCC is here to support your journey every step of the way.
Thanks,
Lisa Avery Linn-Benton Community College President
