2019 Campaign for the Arts Frank Keating and Cathy Keating 2019 Honorary Chairs
With the new year quickly approaching, Allied Arts is gearing up for the 2019 campaign for the arts. The annual fundraising effort is the signature program of Allied Arts – raising vital funds and awareness for central Oklahoma’s cultural community. The campaign receives support from more than 5,000 corporate partners, foundation supporters and individual donors. Campaign funds are directed to leading cultural nonprofits to support their efforts in making arts programming accessible to more people, offering quality exhibits and performances to enhance quality of life, and providing more than 700,000 arts experiences for youth statewide. Allied Arts is thrilled to announce that John Higginbotham, Oklahoma City Market CEO of Bank of Oklahoma, and Doug Stussi, Chief Financial Officer of Love’s Travel Stops, will lead the 2019 initiative with a goal of raising $3.3 million. Both John and Doug have been engaged with Allied Arts for many years, as well as with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, an Allied Arts member agency, United Way of Central Oklahoma and Leadership Oklahoma City. In addition to generating important resources for central Oklahoma’s cultural community, the Allied Arts annual campaign recognizes an individual or couple for extraordinary contributions to the arts and the community at large. In 2019, The Honorable Frank and Mrs. Keating will be recognized as Honorary Chairs of the campaign. Cathy is a fourth-generation Oklahoman who has devoted the majority of her life to community service – most recently

spearheading the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Annie Oakley Society, while Frank is a former governor who led the state’s healing after the Oklahoma City bombing. A fundraising event in their honor will be held for donors who personally contribute $1,500 or more to the 2019 campaign. For more information, please contact jennifer.bryan@alliedartsokc.com. A campaign donation at all giving levels ensures that art can help meet the diverse needs in our community. For example, a gift of $5 underwrites supplies for one person to take part in a healing arts session, where he/she can temporarily escape his/her illness; $10 provides admission for two at-risk students to attend a matinee performance of a theatrical production relevant to their school curriculum; and $25 offsets the cost of tights for a professional dancer. In addition to corporate giving, local businesses can partner with Allied Arts by hosting an employee giving campaign in 2019. Allied Arts will tailor an experience to fit your company’s schedule and culture with interactive arts activities that build employee engagement and inspire support for the arts. With more than 100 workplace partners, your business will be in good company! To register, please email shannon. lockwood@alliedartsokc.com. If you would like to donate before the end of the year, you may use the envelope included in this newsletter.
