2014 was another year of leadership as the premier single-office firm in Dallas. Our year end sales of $1.5 Billion – through 2,054 transactions – ranked 111th in the U.S., according to the recent RIS Media Power Broker Survey. Of the Top 1000 residential real estate firms, we were the only Texas single-office company in the Top 150. Dallas continues to lead the nation in apartment construction, but new data indicate the monthly house payment on a median-priced home has become more affordable than the monthly fair market rent on a three-bedroom property in 76% of U.S. counties. Texas was one of five states with the highest home price appreciation from December 2013 - December 2014, appreciating 7.8% compared to the national 4.9% rate.

New data from the U.S. Census Bureau confirms that our DFW area had the second largest population increase from midyear 2013 to the middle of 2014. Our new resident total of 131,217 was slightly behind Houston and ahead of New York City. However, the DFW area with its diversified job base is less vulnerable than Houston to fluctuations in oil prices. Currently, DFW is the nation’s fourth largest metro area, with more residents than 34 U.S. states. We have the second largest number of freeway miles per capita in the nation. Within 24 hours, truck drivers can reach 37% of the nation’s population; in 48 hours, 93% of the continental U.S. We have more than 400 public parks, 60 lakes, more than 150 golf courses, and more restaurants per capita than New York City.
