ALLEN TANG

I'm an international interior designer with a deep knowledge of both Eastern and Western culture. I recently received my Masters of Contemporary Interior Design degree at Istituto Marangoni’s London campus, and now live in West Hollywood. I have a range of experience in commercial and residential projects across China, the United Kingdom, and the United States, providing me with the natural ability to blend a variety of design styles and languages into one cohesive project.
Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio, and please reach out to me with any questions. allentangcl@gmail.com 424.566.2029 www.allentanginteriors.com @allen-c-tang
We worked closely with the client to curate a joint vision, from custom architectural details to furnishings, art, and accents. The result is a space that’s rooted in history and embodies this family’s unique story. I worked alongside the creative director from start to completion in March of 2022, and produced the photo shoot with the team in May.
This home’s interior concept was anchored to a set series of anatomical shapes & lines, all of which can be seen throughout the architecture and the furniture, and are inspired by traditional French country-homes.
Situated on a private hill, this home is surrounded by lush gardens and breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. The main goal of the project is to satisfy the couple's needs for a more sophisticated home, while taking advantage of the views with indoor/outdoor living areas to provide additional space to entertain.

An innovative office focuses not on the present, but on the future. Shanghai Pudong Development Bank tasked EID Architecture to design a new headquarters to adapt to the digital banking era. I worked alongside the creative director and project manager to design the lobby, cafe, gym, and other public spaces.
Tech bars, lounge spaces, coffee counters, and multipurpose spaces are emerging as go-to amenities within the financial sector, encouraging employees to step out of their specific work areas to boost collaboration.
We worked alongside the client to create an elevated and unique experience, surrounding diners with water features inspired by the famous hot springs of Kyoto. I worked under the creative director from the start to finish.
Although we started with the Kyoto hot springs as inspiration, we wanted to add a modern twist. So, we combined traditional materials such as stone and wood with modern ones such as ceramic tiles and aluminum grilles, to create a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
The restaurant is in the food and beverage level of the high-end Zhenjiang Wanda Plaza shopping mall, a large-scale urban complex project developed by Wanda Group for a total investment of nearly $350 million US.
For this project, we captured the client’s desire to brand itself as a boutique coffee experience in China. Natural woods are mixed with white and gold accents in a variety of textures, with plants evoking the natural environment of coffee farms. The overhead dome, part of the existing building, was initially an eyesore, but we turned it into a feature by re-painting it and grounding the concept as “dining under the golden sky.”
This Georgian-listed building had suffered some unfortunate alterations in the last century. In response, we restored the main residence and created a contemporary rear addition, both meeting in the middle at a split-level atrium filled with daylight.
The client, a prolific Hollywood producer, engaged our team to design an interior that felt lived-in and timeless, with a touch of rustic modernism to complement the home’s sharp architecture. I worked under the creative director from the start to the project's finish in November 2022.
I designed BoConcept’s first new concept stores in China. Located at one of Shanghai’s most upscale shopping areas, Xintiandi, this flagship combines Danish design with the Chinese aesthetic, and served as the template for the brand’s retail expansion throughout China.
