WEDDINGS

Unlike many brides who say their special day flies by too quickly, Katelyn remembers savoring every second. From her surprisingly emotional father to the first look she shared with her soon-to-be husband prior to the ceremony, Katelyn recalls the day as being absolutely perfect. “I never felt the day went by in a flash,” she shares. “I took in every single moment. I felt it almost went in slow motion for me. I didn’t feel rushed and really took it all in.”

Besides family, Katelyn’s superheroes were her vendors. She loves them all and was especially excited about the pops of glitter her wedding planner Sweet Deets Events subtly worked into the decorations (“Because I love a little sparkle,” she says) and the food from Blackstone Caterers, which included seared scallops and delicious cuts of steak, among other delights. Looking back, Katelyn says she would only change one thing and that is to start planning earlier. “There are so many options so it’s never too early to start thinking about what you want your wedding day to look like. That way you have less to worry about once the wedding approaches.”
