In October 2010, I was visiting Chicago and while stepping into the back of a cab, the cabbie started driving, causing the rear tire to scrape up against the back of my foot. To my surprise after getting out of the cab, the Goodyear Welted shoes were barely even damaged (only a crease in the back to prove the collision occurred and they didn’t even need a shine!). I was so grateful that I went to the Michigan Avenue store and bought another pair (even though it was somewhat painful to be fitted). My doctor thinks had I not been wearing such a quality shoe, surely my tendon would have been torn, my ankle broken, or worse. I now have 3 pairs of Allen Edmonds and cannot imagine wearing anything else.
