Third Grade teacher, Chris Brozyna and his wife Patty are now the proud parents of a baby boy named Skyler born August 26, 2005.
Sadmir Deljanin, from A-S maintenance and his wife Esma are thrilled to announce the birth of a baby boy, Ziam, on August 13, 2005.
In October, Julia Kunin, Head of the Art Department, was a visiting artist at New Mexico State University at Las Cruces, giving a lecture about her work as well as conducting Graduate and Undergraduate critiques in the MFA and BFA programs. From New Mexico, she traveled to Marfa, TX to attend the opening at the Chinati foundation of minimalist sculptor, and former A-S faculty member, Donald Judd and his museum and artist residency. Computer teacher, Fran Margolis and her husband, Jonathan, welcomed Micah Joseph on August 5, 2005.
Art/woodshop teacher, Rob McCallum, was recently invited by the Peace Education Center at Teachers College, Columbia University, to give a workshop for art educators from Afghanistan. The workshop titled “Arts Processes as Alternative Pedagogies” focused on teacher training and approaches in art education as a catalyst for rebuilding and addressing community issues. His experience as an art educator in South Africa was a valuable resource for the workshop. The teachers from Afghanistan are enthusiastic about the idea of further collaboration with the art department at Allen-Stevenson.
Michelle Palmer, Development Associate and her partner, Andy Waldron, welcomed their first son, Jaden T. Palmer-Waldron on April 27, 2005.
Fifth grade teacher, Diana Tully, and her husband, John, welcomed their daughter, Avril Rose Tully, on March 31, 2005.
