03. Mesh cube
For this exercice, in groups of two, we were asked to create an object inscribed into a cube. To create this pen holder we used bridge to create the outer shell and we created a hollowed out cyclinder to place the pens in.

The object was printed with an Ultimaker 3D printer in PLA. PLA is a really solid material which prints smoothly at 215°. We chose PLA to reach a hard consistency. The design was printed without any soluble support material so it needed to be created with a PLA , then removed.

The chair and table design have been inspired by the project “Full grown”, founded by Gavin Munro. The designer who creates chairs shaping them directly from the trees. This process takes about 8 years and the results are incredible. The designs I created with Maya mimic the organic shapes of tree branches.
