I felt any picture of an eye wouldn’t necessarily look good.

I wanted to shut out everything else.

The picture was taken in a dark room in front of a small lamp.

I learned so much here. Even what seems to be nothing can end up being many things.

From this perspective, I felt the pixels formed a road moving beneath me, while riding my motorbike.

I loved the challenge. I had never drawn from memory before.

I studied different pictures of the house. I wanted to include 3 aspects: • Not such a frontal view of it.

• The way the inner lights glow at night.

• The way the sky is reflected on the glass at daytime.

It was my first time using Pic Collage.

I thought it was really interesting and it gave me the opportunity to work on different textures and sizes.

Even though I never submitted this image for homework, I must admit it is one of my favorites.

I was still learning how to use Bazaart and it was fun. The concept wasn’t so abstract, but I used about 5 different apps for this one. With this one I got used to lots of export/import.

This was fun. I loved using so many elements and adding textures.

For me, the highlight was the way the “walls� turned out. I got the idea from the info we were given. The images are photos of actual art my mom has painted.

I hadn’t heard of Hyperlapse or anything related before this task.

With Lomotif, I could add sound to my images. I am hyperactive and I had to learn to stay still for a long time in order to take this image.

I reflected on the statement that “a line is a dot”, and vice versa. This was quite profound.

I started with one dot on the topright area and created “the moon”; then, I just kept going non-stop. I was a bit surprised that something so simple could look attractive.

I loved working on this one. Another personal favorite of mine. Sketching all the lines took forever but I loved the concept.

Trying to depict a map of my inner self was very challenging on many levels. I like the lines and curves that are usually used when drawing maps.

I wish I could have looked at everybody’s work. I was only active on Instagram.

I want to display a few Instagram user names over here. They deserve all the credit and admiration.

I’ve learnt so many things from my peers!

Here are some of them: 1) Diagrams

I must say that I had no idea how to create a diagram. (It was my worst week) Looking at my peers’ work was enlightening.

It was hard to pick just a a few images for this booklet.

There were too many great, unique ideas.

Besides learning about diagrams…

I enjoy sketching a lot.

But there are always new details to be learned – specially if using an iPad.

Be it by hand or not, I was able to capture certain details:

Strokes Shading Use of color Concept

I was mesmerized while learning about: 3) Rendering

I saw amazing images that were rendered beautifully and blended impeccably.

These pictures captivate due to the wise (and beautiful) use of color, shapes and textures.

Proportions and dimensions are also important when creating art.

I was reminded of one important fact: 4) Simplicity is beautiful.

I don’t mean to say these images were easy to do.

They just prove that we don’t always need lots of elements and complexity to get a point across or move others.

Who would have thought that a group of glowing dots would become a rendition of the rain?

I know I didn’t think of that.

A simple line can look so pretty and express so much. Keeping it simple can be good.

Sometimes we feel we must use lots of color.

A simple, yet original, white line on a black canvas does look amazing.

Narrowing down a complex concept into more basic ones can be a source of great ideas.

Another key lesson: 5) Creativity is a state of mind.

We must think a bit outside the box.

This collage composition was quite distinctive. I didn’t see any other picture like it.

Finally, I was also reminded that Art is, more often than just occasionally, supposed to be: 6) Fun

The tricky part is finding a balance between taking our art seriously and keeping it fun at the same time.

My Place: My Being; My Inner Self The way I see it, “My Place” is what my inner, unique, introverted, analytical self makes of it. Whatever my mind and heart perceive can easily become “my place”.

Some examples of this:

No matter what time it might be, yet the brain is constantly running info back and forth. I might physically be in bed, but I’m really somewhere else: where my thoughts take me.

Sometimes, the place that I am at is where my feelings take me. I could physically be at a party; but, who could tell behind the smile that my inner self is at a darker, gloomier place?

Sometimes, I might feel like I am at some sort of limbo. The image above could be explained as follows: I am the black dot to people; but the “real me” is encapsulated inside, waiting for people to see all the “colors” within myself. The white area seems to be the distance between myself and others.

Similarly, I can be, physically and mentally - or emotionally - found among the crowds and trying to figure out the relationships and differences between myself and those people and things that surround me.

When doing sports, I’m most definitely somewhere else. It doesn’t matter… soccer/football, running, skating, hockey, etc.

My mind does things on its own and “my place” can be several steps ahead of where my actual body is. Everything is fast and in slow motion at the same time.

Recently, “my place� has become the iversity course of Architecture 1o1.

This is true being that my mind is constantly thinking about it and trying to find ways of compiling homework, and engaging with the community. Also, physically, I’ve been in front of my computer a lot more.

This image depicts both things: where my body and my mind are.

The green area represents the country I’m in. The rest represents the exchange of ideas I’ve been exposed to recently through the iversity course.
