Staff Training / College Day Consultation Prayer Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do your will. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Many thanks to all who responded to the consultation regarding staff training/structure of Wednesdays next academic year. The Governors have approved the earlier finish option on Wednesdays at 2.45pm for the academic year 2013-14. There were 496 responses from parents with 56.6% in favour of early finish/either and 44.6% in favour of late start/either. 'Either' is those parents who were happy either way.
(Prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola).
Students were also consulted by the College Council with similar results. We will keep the arrangements under review as we progress through 2013-14 and consult further for arrangements in the following year.

Specialism Success Congratulations to Year 13 Business student Lisa Ball, who has been nominated to apply to be a member of The Co-operative Young Members' Board. Lisa successfully completed a six week paid internship with The Co-operative College last summer, making her a strong candidate for the position. The Enterprise Action Kit she worked on as an intern is now available nationally on The Co-operative College Website. If recruited, Lisa will take her place on the Board along 14 other talented and committed young people aged between 15 and 26 and will work to promote the views of young people throughout all areas of The Cooperative.
Students will be able to study in the library until 5pm everyday if they or their parents wish and be usefully engaged until they can be collected.
113 This is the number of parents who have very kindly completed the Parent View questionnaire so far. The previous data was erased when we became and academy and we would be very grateful if as many parents as possible could fill in this on-line form, so we can use the information in our college self evaluation and action planning. www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/. This is a key document for Ofted and we really need your help. Its fantastic news we have reached our target of 100. We are now aiming for 200 before the next half term.
Parents as Partners: HAIRSTYLE Parents are reminded that the College has a strict policy on hair styles and colour. Extremes of hair style and unnatural colours are not allowed and students will be asked to conform to the policy. To avoid unnecessary expense and disagreements, please can parents ensure their children do not push the boundaries. Back-combing/untidy hair is not allowed, because it presents a danger to health and safety in science laboratories and practical workshops. Long hair should be capable of being tied back when necessary. Close-shaved hair styles and 'carved' hair styles are not allowed. The overriding principle is that we all 'dress for success', that is in a smart fashion, which reflects our ethos as a Catholic Business and Enterprise College
