2. Introduction

A very warm welcome to our new students and to those families who are new to All Hallows Catholic College.

This residential experience at Liverpool Hope University gives our young people a chance to have fun, learn, make new friends, get to know All Hallows staff and start to think about their hopes for the future. It gives them a chance to shine!

Liverpool Hope University is one of the Cathedral group of universities with a fantastic reputation for academic study and research, and for its pastoral care of students. During our time away students will have extensive use of the excellent facilities, they will meet some of the university staff and they will gain an insight into life at a university.

As you know, our mission statement is 'Aspire not to have more but to be more.' In this activity we are helping our young people begin a new stage of their learning journey with high aspirations and with the honourable purpose of trying to be the best they can be.

Thank you to all my colleagues who have spent so much time in meticulously planning this residential experience. It promises to be a unique and inspirational experience.

Thank you also to our parents for our new partnership and for placing your children in our care.

15. Code Of Conduct

All Hallows Catholic College is committed to embracing Christian values and showing honourable purpose in daily living and learning.

Our core values are:

Honourable Purpose

We have faith in God and each other and act with integrity, ‘aspiring not to have more but to be more’.

We show honourable purpose in all we do, taking responsibility for our actions by being reliable, honest, respectful, trustworthy

Respect

We welcome and show respect for the dignity and diversity of every person.

It is our belief that ‘Every Child and Everyone Matters’ to God because we are created in ‘His image and likeness’.

Compassion

We show we love God and our neighbour by ‘treating each other in the way we would like to be treated ourselves’, and paying goodness forward with acts of kindness and charity. Compassion means we are humble and believe in being fair, showing forgiveness and allowing reconciliation.

Co operation

We co-operate with God and each other to build community and a sense of pride in belonging; within our College, our neighbourhood and in our world.

We co-operate by ‘living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity’ with all members of the human family and especially those who are poor.

Stewardship

We are accountable to God and each other. We show we ‘love God and our neighbour as ourselves’ by being good stewards of our gifts, talents and resources. We believe it is our duty to support everyone to reach their full potential in sustainable communities and to protect our world for future generations.
