This month’s Live+ catalogue shines a light on spring allergies and the role of supplements in supporting overall health. Warmer weather often brings sneezing, congestion, and itchy eyes, but pharmacists are here to help you find effective relief. From antihistamines to nasal sprays, we can guide you to the right treatments and practical tips for managing symptoms day to day. Our Prescribing Pharmacists are also available to consult on allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, giving you more options to take control of your health.
Spring is also a season of new beginnings, and for many high school students it sparks conversations about future career paths. Pharmacy is one of the most dynamic and rewarding fields to consider. From helping people manage chronic conditions to advising on safe supplement use, pharmacists play a vital role in modern healthcare. For students drawn to science, health, and making a difference, pharmacy offers stability and countless opportunities to specialise and grow.
We’re also proud to share that our Willows Pharmacy in Townsville has completed a major refit. The transformation is remarkable, and our team did an outstanding job managing the changes. We cannot wait for you to see the fresh new space and enjoy an even better experience when you visit.
Whether you are looking to get on top of seasonal allergies, strengthen your body with the right supplements, or explore a future in healthcare, this season is about growth and thriving. Take the opportunity to focus on your wellbeing, embrace positive change, and enjoy all that spring has to offer.
Here is to good health, strong bodies, and brighter days ahead.

Spring cleaning
Spring cleaning is great for a fresh start, but it can leave our noses running and eyes itching.
For anyone with allergies, the season can feel like a love–hate relationship — sunshine and warm weather on one hand, but dust, mould spores, and pollen on the other.
Decluttering and cleaning can ease allergy triggers but might also stir them up. Don’t let that stop you. Mask your face while you clean, keep the air flowing, and have antihistamines ready.
Did you know?
Our Prescribing Pharmacists can treat allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis is an immune response to allergens, while non-allergic rhinitis can be triggered by weather, irritants, or hormones.
Antihistamines come in different forms, depending on your symptoms and preferences:
TABLETS, CAPSULES, CAPLETS
target general allergies like sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny nose
LIQUIDS & SYRUPS
target children’s allergies; quick absorption and often flavoured for easier use
NASAL SPRAYS
target nasal allergies such as stuffy or runny nose and sneezing
EYE DROPS
target eye allergies such as itchiness, watery eyes, or redness
Talk to your pharmacist about your symptoms and we can help you choose the right product. Antihistamines work by blocking histamine receptors – the part of the body responsible for allergy symptoms.

BOUNCE BACK WITH COLOUR
Growing and birthing a tiny human is no small feat, and while there is no cure for new-mum exhaustion, nourishing the body from the inside out can make all the difference.
A colourful, diverse diet may help us get all the right nutrients and vitamins for our overall health. Different fruit and vegetables can offer different benefits based on their colour:
RED – rich in lycopene and vitamin C, which can help boost energy, support mental clarity, and strengthen immunity
GREEN – packed with chlorophyll, iron, and magnesium to fight fatigue, support red blood cell production, reduce inflammation, and aid detoxification
ORANGE – full of beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A for healthy skin, vision, and immune function
BLUE/PURPLE – high in anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that support brain health and protect against inflammation
Postpartum women might visit the pharmacy when they need help with energy, antioxidants, or inflammation, and our pharmacists can recommend supportive solutions. When it comes to getting a balanced diet, we may sometimes suggest a red and green supplement.
For busy, sleep-deprived new mums, supplements or multivitamins can be an easy way to boost nutrition. Greens powders (such as spinach, spirulina, wheatgrass) can help fight fatigue, support healthy red blood cell production, reduce inflammation, and aid detoxification, while reds powders (berries, pomegranate, beetroot) can improve mental clarity and energy levels.
