PROFFESIONAL WORK FROM ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT POSITION AT SNELL DAVID ARCHITECTS

CLAYS MEADOW, LITTLEBURY

This brief for this project was to remodel and extend an existing 1980’s house, with a sleek, modern, scandinavian design influence, whilst improving energy performance and sustainability of the house. I assisted the project architect from the start of the project, organising and liaising a measured building survey of the existing house, working closely with the project architect giving intuitive input to the desing development of plan layout options, elevation al and material application. Helped the clients to visulize design choices with precedent and modeling studies.

MOOR HALL, THORLEY

I came onto and worked on this project at the Detail Design stage in preperation to send out a full drawing package to tender. I worked closely with the Project Architect and Architectural Tecnologist to assist in drawing up construction details for a listed building, Mechanical and Electrical plans and bathroom layouts in accordance to the clients fittings and finishes schedules.

8A MADINGLEY ROAD, CAMBRIDGE

This brief for this project invloved Ground Floor alterations to make the house suitable for modern family living. In addition, the demolition of the exisitng Garden Room extension and replace it with an inkeeping Garden Room and family entrance extension which was up to modern standands, along with replacing the steel framed pool house cover with a sleek modern design contrasting to the Arts and Crafts Cambridge house. I worked along side the Project Architect through the concept design stage, developing plans and elevations which enthused the clients aspirations as well as successfully submitting and gaining planning permision for the proposal with the local authority.

3DS MAX AND CORONA RENDER

Undertook a 3D visual rendering course to learn how to use 3DS MAX and Corona Renderer to produce realistic interior and exterior renders.

BOOTLE RETIREMENT VILLAGE

BA 3rd YEAR DESIGN PROJECT

1.To create a home for a range of dependent eldery people, ranging from independent to fully dependent, whilst buidling a sense of COMMUNITY.

2.Provide spaces where residents feel SAFE and COMFORTABLE and not confined.

3.Respect the surrounding CONTEXT and ENVIRONMENT, and build in cohesion with it not seperatly.

4.Always design with Sustainabilty as a driving force.

5.Don’t forget about the exisitng Bottle Community and always give something back.

This is a ground and first floor plan for the series of 13 townhouses which are designed to cater for retiered people/ couples who are thinking about potentially needing care in the near future. These houses act as a stepping stone to more assisted living however there are provisions on site for help if needed such as washing or cleaning.

This is the Assisted Living Apartment, which is in a larger block of 6 apartments. It acts as an interim stage between independent living and full extra care. The studio type apartment is designed for eledery citizens who still want their own living spaceand don’t need full extra care. The block is staffed with carers 24/7, and features social spaces where residents can have their food and meals cooked for them if they require.

Increased public front next to the cancel with proposed block for commercial base with rooms for the pub above. Also increased the pubs authority on the site with additional cafe/ pizza bar and lots more seating along the canal. Giving back to the community.

All the dwelling rooms face the central private gardens for privacy and sense of security for residents.

Green space for the bootle community, widening of public walk way and additonal greenery linked with the pub and cafe seating.
