Teags stage 2 exhibition board 1

This exhibition is presented by Theberton & Eastbridge Action Group on Sizewell (TEAGS), the B1122 Action Group and Minsmere Levels Stakeholder Group. We are not against Sizewell C, and welcome the benefits it could bring. However some of EDF’s proposals will place an intolerable burden on our parishes, and this unique environment. With a more imaginative approach, EDF could do much more to protect this special area, and our quality of life. This exhibition outlines how EDF’s plans could affect you, and gives recommendations for how you can stand up for this special corner of Suffolk during Stage 2.

A new ‘town’ for 2,400 construction workers. The B1122, a winding country road, carrying up to 900 HGVs each day through small villages. Threats to the rich wildlife habitats and fragile Heritage coastline.

An abnormal load bound for Galloper Wind Farm gives a taste of things to come on the B1122 through Theberton.

Noise and light pollution, driving visitors away for an extended period.

Therese Coffey MP, 9 November 2016.

“..there are legitimate concerns regarding increased traffic and on the location of the accommodation campus for construction workers, among others” [1]

Theberton & Eastbridge Action Group on Sizewell was formed in 2013 to represent the concerns of residents about EDF’s accommodation and transport plans. It has the full support of the Parish Council. www.teags.org. The B1122 Action Group was formed in 2013 to press EDF for a dedicated road from the A12 to the Sizewell C construction site. http://sizewellrelief.weebly.com. The Minsmere Levels Stakeholder Group monitors the management of the water catchment area of the Minsmere River, Leiston Beck and Leiston Drain, its subsequent discharge through the Minsmere Sluice to the sea, as well as the state of coastal erosion across the Minsmere Haven area. http://minsmerelevelsstakeholdersgroup.onesuffolk.net.

Guy McGregor, Suffolk County Councillor, July 2016

“We needed to hear what concerns local people have about the development. This report has given voice to such concerns and EDF need to listen and act upon this.” [2]
