About Ali Fredericks
Passionate about art from an early age, my role as designer allows me to fully embrace my love of graphic design, illustration and typography.
During 23 years in the design industry, I’ve developed excellent design, illustrative, and typographic skills plus a solid understanding of branding, marketing, publishing and print-based material. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in small design studios and large publishing houses with clients ranging from professional individuals, to local businesses and government institutions.
For fifteen years, I worked as Senior Designer at Bonacia Ltd, a successful UK publishing house. I also dipped into freelancing via MusaGrafica, my personal design outlet, but after redundancy, and with the pandemic, I ventured into freelance full-time as Ali Fredericks, and love it!
I work for a range of clients, and have a wonderful variety of work, from design for marketing, drawing custom illustrations, designing book covers, brochures and websites, dreaming up logos and branding, creating graphics for social media, and much more.
Such variety constantly challenges my abilities and ensures that I continually strive to deliver outstanding results that are above and beyond the brief. I’m privileged to work with an excellent variety of very talented individuals in such an interesting role. I hope you enjoy looking through my work.

Described as ‘the premier magazine for creative young people,’ Wordsmith provided a dynamic platform for the stories, poetry, artwork and opinions of aspiring young writers and poets. Published quarterly, it ran for 13 years and ran for 51 issues. Crammed full of inspiration and ideas, Wordsmith featured author interviews, a roundup of literary events across the country, workshops, games and writing tips.
