CASAS VACÍAS THEATRE
2021 - in progress
ASSISTANT DIRECTION
ART DIRECTION / SCENOGRAPHY
Based on the novel CASAS VACÍAS from the mexican writer Brenda Navarro. Maternity. Unwanted, forced, desired, demanded, needed maternity...
Two women without no names, mothers of the same child with two different names. Daniel´s mother and Leonel’s mother, first one give birth to him and the other stole him to raise him as her own.
An autistic child, which relationship with the environment is always complex and fragile, unable to understand what is happening. A text as heartbreaking as realistic about maternity and how is combined in the same body feelings of pain, affection, guilt, love, denial, hope and loneliness. A theatrical adaptation from the mind and like the mind: fast, vertiginous, erratic, complex and brutal.

MUDARSEINSTALARSE
CONTEMPORARY DANCE
2022 - in tour
SCENOGRAPHY
MUDARSEINSTALARSE set out the wish of remaining and, simultaneously, the fear of it actually happening. It reflects the hope that there is something, at least one thing, which does not stagger.
For that reason, we self-declare “people to move” and not talking only spatially, but also personally.
The piece translates to dance the speed of this volatile reality in today’s society, the continuous alteration of spaces and the forced adaptation to this liquid and mutable present.
MUDARSEINSTALARSE is created by Luna Sánchez along with La Basal and comes up as a reflection on the book
Espècesd’espaces (1974) by Georges Perec.

SCENIC DESIGNING
“I create from the need to break with normativity, to drag the hegemony to the margins.
It is time to make our pain and anger collective, and instead of questioning our identities, start questioning what surrounds us; to rely on the body as a tool for expression and not only for execution. To set aside the neutrality and work with and from the empathy; abandoning the concept of equality and embracing the difference, which should never be a cause of discrimination. Therefore I reflect on me. Therefore I question myself. Therefore, LA REVISIÓN.”

VIAJE A LA LUNA CINEMA 2021
ART DIRECTION
“Viaje a la Luna” is a captivating script by Federico García Lorca, filled with rich symbolism and layered meanings. Through its 71 fragments, Lorca weaves a tapestry of images and symbols, such as long corridors, fish, stairs, elevators ascending into the night, mourning women, harlequins, the recurrent picture of the ants... and a perpetually elusive moon. These motifs represent the timeless themes that resonate throughout Lorca’s body of work: the exploration of desire, the search for identity, the weight of anguish, and the transformative power of love. The script serves as a window into Lorca’s artistic genius, inviting readers to delve into the depths of his poetic imagination.

MEDEA - Euripides
THATRE / CIRCUS 2020
SCENOGRAPHY
Within the depths of Medea’s soul, a tempest rages. Euripides’ Medea unravels a woman consumed by an internal maelstrom. As time accelerates, the stage undergoes a profound transformation. A sharper triangular composition emerges, mirroring the escalating chaos within her.
Classic Greek fabrics intertwine with fragmented modern elements, embodying the clash between tradition and turmoil. The color palette shifts, capturing the tumultuous journey of Medea’s mind and body. Bound by societal norms, she is swept away in a frenzied dance, unable to resist the unstoppable force of her own descent. This artistic exploration delves into the abyss, challenging our perceptions and revealing the transformative power of a woman pushed to her limits.

DON GIOVANNI ÓPERA 2019 COSTUME DESIGN
This work of costume reimagins the opera Don Giovanni, unveiling an exploration of identity where there are no clear gender roles. The avant-garde costumes use innovative materials, actual pattern designs and new colours and textures. They become a medium of self-discovery, reflecting the innermost emotions and journeys of the characters.
From the ethereal iridescence that captures the essence of the new marriage to Donna Elvira, the embodiment of passion, which finds herself swathed in sumptuous fuchsia velvet, evoking her depths of emotion and unwavering intensity. The cape of Don Giovanni unfurls with the resplendent allure of peacock feathers, symbolizing his magnetic charm. However, as the narrative unfolds and his actions spiral into darkness, the cape metamorphoses into a striking silver-scaled embodiment of his corrupted soul.

FESTIVAL of EPHEMERAL INSTALLATIONS 2018
INSTALLATION DESIGN
The proposal arises from the contemplation of restlessness as a sensation with two interconnected meanings: the first, pragmatic, is the absence of stillness achieved through moving water, its uninterrupted sound, and ever-changing reflections; the second, cognitive, focuses on the feelings of uncertainty and lack of certainty in the face of nonlinear events, caused by an element that takes over the courtyard, creating a void where light and water emerge simultaneously, ceaselessly capturing our attention.
Light and water permeate, break, and fracture the installation, uncertainty, and doubt, illuminating the mystery as the divine force that enlightens the spirit.
A container of light, created within a small pond, floods the intersected space with constant luminous motion.

1984: ABSTRACCIÓN THEATRE 2016 SCENOGRAPHY
This scenography needed to be abstract to transmit the confusion and discomfort. With an industrial character and elements that place us in a dystopian future, the scenography is the nexus between the abstraction made by the director and the original text from Orwell. The script, characters, and part of the plot, however, are modified ncorporating dance as a connecting element between scenes.

PICNIC THEATRE 2016
SCENOGRAPHY
The contrast of a realistic war trench and colourful costumes presents this comedic play with a dramatic undertone.
The idea from the team was to convey what the original play intends: a paradoxical atmosphere of calmness and relaxation.
The audience gradually becomes more relaxed despite being situated in a scene of war.

LABORATORY OF SCENIC ACTION ARCHITECTURE/THEATRE 2013
ARCHUTECTURE
What this Laboratory aims for is a type of creation directly related to experimentation, improvisation, and sensations... and that’s where the architecture of Cortijo del Fraile comes into play, as if it were Jacques Lecoq’s neutral mask, providing us with that state of neutrality prior to action. From then on, our body will be available, like a blank page, without scripts or plots.
The project seeks to maintain all the values that make the cortijo a focal point of sensations: the colors, textures, openings, and even the traces that time and people may have left on it. The space is filled with empty spaces that open and close, allowing or avoiding the light, outdoors, indoors, large and small, complex, simple, uncomfortable... capable of encompassing all kinds of representations.
