The Alice Smith School has a rich web of alumni stretching across the globe, creating a wealth of worldwide connections.

When Alice Smith left for America in 1950 with her husband and daughter, the school was officially named the Alice Smith School. At this time, the Alice Smith Schools Association was formed, placing the responsibility for the administration of the school in the hands of a Council of Governors. These Governors have a strategic and financial responsibility for the long term interest and overall wellbeing of the Alice Smith School. Today, the Alice Smith School is owned by the Alice Smith Schools Association (ASSA), a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee registered in Malaysia. Funded solely by parent fees, all of the school’s resources are invested in providing the highest quality of education possible for our students.

The Alice Smith School was started in 1946 by Alice Fairfield-Smith at her home in Jalan Eaton, Kuala Lumpur at the end of the Second World War. A biology graduate from Harvard University and an experienced teacher, Alice Smith only had a handful of expatriate children then, including her own daughter, Lindsey.
