ABOUT ME I am an Interior Design Student from South Florida aiming to achieve my Bachelor’s Degree in Design at the University of Florida in the Spring of 2022 with a certificate in sustainability. I am passionate about concept and brand design and interested in residential and hospitality sectors with a focus on wellness and sustainability in my work. As a student in the Upper Division of the Interior Design program, she has found that interior design is more than just a form of art or an expression of an aesthetic, but it’s considering the way humans interact with the built world and how designers are able to influence human reactions by cultivating built environments.

Morphology is the study of forms of things and the relationship with their structures. As living organisms, we gradually evolve in what seems like a fluid motion; constantly attempting to transform into a better version of ourselves. Morph is an Active Living and Learning Education facility that encourages students to become more immersed in their work as well as engaged with one another. It provides a home for students, professionals, and clients to coincide while inspiring opportunities of interconnection, creation, and emulation. Morph acts a bridge between clients, professionals, and students, where professionals are able to nurture the idea of the students and clients as they adapt and enter the corporate world.

A forefront in morphology design is bio-mimicry and biomemetics. Biomimicry and Biomemetics offers an empathetic, interconnected understanding of how life works and ultimately where we fit in. It is a practice that learns from and mimics the strategies used by species alive today. The goal is to create new ways of living — that solve our greatest design challenges sustainably and in solidarity with all life on earth. Tying the wisdom of nature to the innovation of technology will revitalize the energy of our educational zones.

Water is considered the elixir and source of life that has been scientifically proven to reduce a state of anxiety and depression caused by an increase in urbanization and near-constant use of technology. As humans we are naturally drawn to ‘blue space’ because of its emotional benefits, the sight and sound of water promotes wellness, increases blood flow to the brain and heart and induces a meditative state that makes us happier, healthier, calmer, and more creative. By using an underwater ecosystem as a metaphor for the NEXT office we are able to turn water into a tool to promote community health. NEXT Immersed is focused on designing a variety of interrelated work zones that are devoted to foster innovation, promote wellness, and allow oneself to fully immerse and flourish in in various activities.
