From a young age, I have had a deep passion for expressing my creativity, be that through art, various crafts, or design. Sharing these creations with others has always brought me great joy. Growing up, my parents often referred to me as the more creative of the sibling, so it came as no surprise when I decided to pursue a degree in interior design at the University of Alabama. My fascination with problemsolving in different spaces, coupled with a curiosity about the interiors of various neighborhoods, naturally led me to this field.
As I approach graduation, I am preparing to return home to Illinois. While I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities that the University of Alabama has provided, I am excited to embrace the next chapter of my journey.
MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
To me, design is about the creative freedom that allows us as designers to work collaboratively with clients to create one-of-a-kind spaces. My personal design philosophy is a blend of intimate collaboration with clients to create homes that are not only beautiful and functional but will also fit the needs of the clients for years to come with a focus on sustainability.
My clients are Katherine and Elijah Gilbert. They are both in their early 30s. They both love to cook and entertain family and friends on the weekend. So they requested an open dining room and living room plan that feels warm and inviting. My clients requested a neutral bohemian design style with a neutral color palette.
