WHY IS...

Astroworld Festival debuted on November 17, 2018, at NRG Park in Houston, strategically located across from the former site of the actual Astroworld amusement park. This location choice is deeply personal to Scott, reflecting his ongoing homage to the city

that shaped his youth and his career. From its inception, the festival was envisioned as a space where the worlds of hip-hop, pop, and electronic music could converge, bringing together a lineup of artists that speaks to Scott’s eclectic musical influences and connections within the industry.

ASAP Rocky, born Rakim Athelaston Mayers on October 3, 1988, in Harlem, New York, is an influential American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor, known for his distinctive flows, complex lyrics, and a unique aesthetic that blends high fashion with street style. He is a pivotal figure in the hip-hop collective ASAP Mob, which has played a crucial role in propelling him to fame.

ASAP Rocky’s rise

ASAP Rocky’s rise to prominence began with his breakout mixtape “Live. Love. A$AP” in 2011. The mixtape garnered critical acclaim for its polished production and Rocky’s smooth, laid-back flow.
