The topic of cold storage infrastructure in the U.S has an interesting relationship to our current biosphere epoch. Although banal in appearance, cold storage facilities and its users are entangled to the economic, environmental, physiological dimensions of capitalist infrastructure. Indeed behind the white box is an eternal winter which has as much to do with our need for frozen shrimp as the creation of dark rooms filled with autonomous cranes, resilient felines and human experimentation.
