U / 2020 Maksim Shishov 118 x 59 x 4 cm Aluminum, wood frame , acrylic

This work is like a mirror of the human essence. Aluminium blurs the reflection of you. There is a dissonance, is it something blissful or something so dystopian that I stop being like myself? The black frame refers us to something sacred, where you are left alone with yourself, answering your uncomfortable questions.

MariaKarra Maria is an emerging artist from Volo in Greece, where she has exhibited in some groundbreaking shows. She was involved in an exhibition in Volos for the artist Vasiliki Perka at the Cultural centre of Nea Ionia, where she was a member of the sculptural setup team, which won first prize in 2018. Throughout her work, Maria makes use of motley elements, where she is expressing her truth about the modern myth of fairytales and their feminine role. In her works, Maria will tear, sew, to find solutions, to the destroyed, the drowning or the burned. She quotes all the elements of the "crime". Which in reality, we see artworks with mapped sentiments, where the figure is always standing there, hidden or just out of the frame.

DISCERNING EYE NUDITY is a part of natural beauty that has been showing aesthetically beautiful in Indian art but society finds vulgarity in it which expressed by the artist. In college period, I have studied the drawing of male and female in the nude during practising portrait and represented a partial part of it in my artwork of creative drawing. When I saw the model, they were NAKED and after studying they were NUDE for me. Because there is a difference of VISION which grow the ability to see beautifully towards the things. What I see that is reality. When it reflects in my artwork, it is only an ILLUSION that differs from objective reality. Things are beautiful as we see as beauty of the creation of NATURE and ARTIST. According to me, VISUAL ART IS A LANGUAGE OF VISION. Here I took a DISCERNING EYE to capture the beauty of nude and represented it with the creative mind through drawing.

David Darcy has been coined as a Neo-Abstract Expressionist for this immense work depicting intense abstractions that can be contemplative expanses that draw the eye. But when talking to David he has stated this was further from the truth. David has stated he is an experimental artist leaning towards the Avant-guard. Each painting or piece is a thought bomb encaged by the canvas. They are not abstracts or expressionist painting, they merely are.

BRONTĂ‹ // 2018 OIL ON CANVAS // 16 X 20 INCHES

He is known for combining contemporary methods with the urban street movement or the Neo-expressionist. His work is intended to capture humanity marked by the movement of space, encasing equal parts of sensation and inquiry, rooted in mid-motion gestures. The palette and forms shift freely according to content and mood. Movement and line express desire and vitality as well as essence/existence point of departure from the philosophical. David’s approach to the paint medium emboldens his nontraditional methods, confirming a commitment to his favourable visual and philosophical point of departure. His adoption of chance operations and other experimentations supported endless lines of inquiry.
