



Scale - Collaborative project
This module was a 12 day project where we worked in pairs to replicate a hand prop from a film or TV programme. The prop had to have a moving part, we chose to replicate the chest from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’.

Collaborative puppet buildHere I made curly hair for one of the grad animation puppets using mohair that had been dyed different shades of blue to give more dimension.

I individually sculpted each curl using a combination of gel and glue before arranging them on a fiberglass skull cap.

Collaborative piece - The cart was made with the ability to be animated and appear to have suspension. I constructed the cart out of Jelutong and mdf. The cart was then painted by Olivia Smallbone.

Collaborative set build -
This was a group project to create a village scene upon a hill, I was involved in carving the cliffs, painting the gray base coat and practical lighting for the houses.

Collaborative project to recreate a screen accurate 1:5 scale model of The Hypersleep Chamber and Corridor set from “Alien” (1979).
Final model photographs with red and white practical lighting.
A range of skills were used including: Mould making and casting, 3D printing, technical drawing, soldering and wiring practical lighting, fibre glassing, sanding, priming and painting and laser cutting.

Collaborative puppet buildSculpting, moulding and fiberglassing the head of the alive version of hero puppet ‘Matty’. I also adjusted and silver soldered the armature legs for the puppet.

This was a group project to create a graveyard scene, I was involved in construction of the set, poly carving and texturing the landscape.

These wooden and plaster cast structures were hand crafted with the intention of exploring flexible architecture. Manipulation of their shape allows the structures to be incorporated in to different environments depending on their desired function.
This project focused on the use of clay as a building medium on the river banks of Durham. The clay structures were designed as unique spaces to host events with both an internal and exterior feel, the use of the perforated brick vaults allows for light to stream into the spaces capturing this atmosphere.
A selection of hand drawn illustrations and architectural models created using balsa wood and white card. These were used to explore different ideas for the concept of the gin distillery.
This project aimed to redevelop a deteriorated district in Newcastle by revitalizing the area with an artist’s hub. Responding to the narrative of the city, whilst acknowledging the surrounding buildings and materials in the area, gallery and workshop spaces were designed for the display of the artists work.
2019 Inspired by Brutalist architecture these volumetric forms were created using plaster casting.
