In chapter 1-6 in Kite Runner the author Khaled Hosseini speaks about memories, brotherhood and differences, by speaking about these three he introduces the story to the reader and creates a sense of expectation using poetic devices.
When Hosseini says “ That was a long time ago, but it's wrong what they say about the past, I’ve learned, about how you can bury it. Because the past claws its way out, In this quote Hosseini speaks about the past meaning his memories by using diction and personification to tell us that we cannot always forget what has happened to us during the past.
Hosseini now talks about his connection with Hassan “ there was a brotherhood between people who had fled from the same breath, a inship not even time could break” the author now uses diction to tell us that the brotherhood between Amir and Hassan could not be broken anything, even time.
Even after speaking about the past and brotherhood Hosseini now tells us the differences that could break there brotherhood, “ I read that my people, the pashtuns, had persecuted and oppressed the Hazaras” the difference that separated Amirs and Hassan's world was “pashtuns were Sunni Muslims” Amir, “while Hazaras were Shia” Hassan, the author gave us a piece of history about the difference and religion and treatment between Amir and Hassan that later in the
