Welcome to a snippet of work from my architectural career. After graduating from California College of the Arts, I won a competition to build a public outdoor facility in one of San Francisco’s city parks. I went on to work with people-first urban design at Gehl Architects in Copenhagen and commercial workplace interiors, master planning and core / shell building design with Studios Architecture.
Drawing on this experience, I launched my own design company in 2022 building new residential construction and additions in Southern California. It has been a great experience with fast paced work and construction management. I’ve recently returned to San Francisco to be closer to family and plug back into the Bay Area.
I strive to participate in design which promotes learning and growth, pushes sustainability standards and creates prosperity for all communities.
This 1.1M square foot tech campus achieved LEED Platinum Certification. Deep dive into Google culture, heavy coordination, loads of documentation, regular VR simulations and r+d prototyping in a secret lab.
SANTANA WEST
A commercial campus designed with the developer of San Jose’s Santana Row offers ample parking, a re-purposed Century 21 dome, and two 800,000 square foot sister building designs for future tech tenants.
UCLA STUDENT APARTMENTS
This new 17-story, 1,167-bed building is a major step toward meeting UCLA’s goal of providing students with four years of housing.
ALEMANY OUTDOOR KITCHEN
The outdoor kitchen facility at San Francisco’s largest organic farm is still thriving after ten years.

The Bay View development is an exceptional workspace that is uniquely Google, while also taking green building to a new level. The 1.1 million square foot campus is all-electric, net water-positive and features the largest geothermal energy system in North America. The campus is also on track to be the largest project certified by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) under any of their programs, at any certification level.

I spent two and a half years in SD / DD / CDs with many roles in the project for a lengthy design exploration and iterative process. As part of a team doing the Architectural Interiors scope, I worked on programming, conference and desking spaces, building services, locker rooms, bike storage, cafes, fitness and an events building; all with MEP coordination and Target Value Design (VE) studies with cost analysis. In addition to my own program design scope, I was the team’s main detailer with custom solutions for the client’s aesthetic. I represented Studios as Lead Designer for an R+D prototyping initiative held in a secret lab for quarterly build outs executed by XL Construction (project specific furniture designs).

Mountain View. 1.8 million SqFt new tech campus with an extensive design process sharing scope with Bjarke Ingles Group and Heatherwick Studios, currently under construction. I spent two years in SD / DD / CDs with many roles in the project for a lengthy exploration and iterative design process. Managed and designed interiors scope with MEP coordination, client approval, TVD studies and cost analysis. In addition to my own scope, I was the team’s main detailer with custom solutions for the company’s aesthetic. In collaboration with various groups, I represented STUDIOS as Lead Designer for R+D prototyping in a secret lab for quarterly build outs by XL Construction (project specific and for the larger company umbrella). Produced VR exports alone for all issuances of the design process at 25% increments and managed a team of six for a final all-scope VR visualization after 100% CDs. This involved mapping forty five consultant Revit models linked together with material representation down to a Red List Free finish schedule.

In addition to the documentation milestones, the client wanted VR simulations for several key executives to review. I alone produced full campus VR walkthrough presentations for each 25% DD and CD issuance increment. This involved mapping materials to forty eight linked Revit models with accurate material representation, by coordination with consultants to clarify material intent and clean up modeling.

ONE SANTANA WEST
STUDIOS ARCHITECTURE: MASTER PLAN & BUILDING DESIGN
San Jose, California.
Studios and Federal Realty Investment Trust partnered to create this 13-acre commercial campus adjacent to San Jose’s popular Santana Row mixed-use development just north of The Winchester Mystery House. Delivered in phases, the campus will eventually be home to three new buildings with flexible designs to suit an array of commercial tenants with ample parking. The historic Century 21 Theater will be retained and restored, offering an exciting new retail location on campus. This dynamic campus will provide coveted commercial space to support San Jose’s ambitions of providing a home to the next generation of Silicon Valley innovators.
I joined this project while the team was wrapping up master planning and beginning design development for phase one; which included an above ground parking garage and eight level 800,000 square foot commercial building with two levels of underground parking. I was responsible for structural coordination, back of house design, building maintenance coordination, waterproofing and rooftop layout coordination, visualization, and detailing. As this project started construction, I was the only team member to move to the phase two sister building design of the same size.
TWO SANTANA WEST
STUDIOS ARCHITECTURE: MASTER PLAN & BUILDING DESIGN
San Jose, California.
With my knowledge of phase one of Santana West development, I helped onboard new team members to phase two of Santana West. The original phase two building design from master planning was completely redesigned by our new team. I was Job Captain for this project and improved the drawing set by leaps and bounds with lessons learned from phase one. While managing the set and consultant model coordination, I was responsible for coordinating structural design, elevator design, underground parking layout design, waterproofing and rooftop layout coordination, visualization and detailing. We were able to complete CDs during the pandemic but once a building permit was awarded, the client decided to put construction on hold until the commercial real estate market bounces back.
UCLA GAYLEY HEIGHTS APARTMENTS
STUDIOS ARCHITECTURE:
MASTER PLAN, BUILDING DESIGN & INTERIORS
Los Angeles, California.
Gayley Heights relates to the existing scale and context of the neighborhood while meeting the need for greater density and more housing. Situated at the confluence of three major thoroughfares in Westwood Village, the building forms a prominent gateway to the UCLA campus.
Due to budget constraints, there was a late effort to re-design the facade systems after CDs were issued. I joined the team late in design to re-skin the building, document new facade systems and transitions, parapets, rooftop layout, penthouses and all exterior penetrations with the help of waterproofing and facade consultants. This included MEP coordination from all mechanical shafts to the roof levels and building maintenance and davit system access.
ALEMANY OUTDOOR KITCHEN
SELF:
PUBLIC PARK & SFHA FACILITY
San Francisco, California.
While attending Alemany Farm’s volunteer work days, I found a great community of lifelong neighbors and gardening enthusiasts. At one of their annual Earth Day events, I listened to several people describe their wishes for a long desired outdoor kitchen and how it would improve their community space at the farm. I created a design and won the Impact Social Entrepreneurship Awards grant to build this project. I gathered a team of five and led the design, drafting, permit coordination and accounting. As a team, we created a brand identity, web buzz, additional crowd-source funding through Kickstarter, organized volunteer labor and hired a contractor who was part of the farm’s leadership group.
Alemany Farm’s outdoor kitchen is a community resource where people of all ages can learn and share skills. It allows the farm and local non-profit groups to expand educational programs; teaching children how to grow, harvest and cook food, and empower them with the tools and knowledge to make healthier nutrition choices. It is a platform, classroom, and a didactic space. Alemany Farm is San Francisco’s largest organic farm and a flourishing definition of what public space can be. The kitchen is complete with a sink, natural gas stove, four BBQ grills, wheelchair access, seating and storage. I recently attended Alemany Farm’s annual Earth Day event and was excited to see the kitchen in action ten years after completion.
Alemany Farm’s new outdoor kitchen is a community resource where people of all ages can learn and share cooking skills allowing the farm to expand its educational program; teaching children how to grow, harvest and cook their own food, and empower them with the tools and knowledge to make healthier nutrition choices at home.
