Our mission is to leap into the hearts of music enthusiasts across Canada by offering a riveting selection of tunes.
Ribbit Records was invented in 1989 when a local band discovered an abandoned building downtown. Inspired by the croaking of frogs accompanying their late-night brainstorming sessions, they transformed the space into a record store. They turned Ribbit Records into a beloved community shop known for its vast music collection, hosting live performances and album launches.
Ribbit Records is a destination for music enthusiasts, collectors and vinyl lovers. Situated in the city’s heart and offering various music genres ranging from rock to indie to suit different preferences. In addition to vinyl records, there's a wide stock of CDs, cassettes, and other music formats. Apart from music and merchendise, Ribbit Records hosts live shows and special events that bring together a community of music enthusiasts. With a dedication to staying true to the essence of music and a deep love for the vinyl experience.

Our logo features a frog eating a record, symbolizing our love for consuming music. Our approach is to have a down-to-earth appeal using hand-rendered type and stylizing with a hand-drawn illustration
Our logo can be set in the following ways, incorporating our primary colour palette for consistency throughout. These variations are the only acceptable options.
HORIZONTAL LOGO
Clear space is crucial for the effective and impactful presentation of our logo. Ensuring that our logo and brand are communicated to their fullest potential.
Pink and green are complementary colours, creating a dynamic contrast that enhances visual appeal. In the context of Ribbit Records' colour palette, their pairing establishes a sense of harmony and balance, reflecting the diverse yet cohesive nature of the music.
The vibrant energy of green complements the nostalgic charm of pink and beige and creates a visually stimulating backdrop that draws customers in. This blend of colours captures attention and reinforces the brand's identity as a modern yet vintage inspired company.

We've selected two typefaces for our brand logo, Montserrat Bold and our hand-drawn type. Both are used in our other applications as well.
Helvetica is used for body text across various platforms, such as websites and products, offering clarity and readability. While Montserrat Bold defines our logo, it should never be substituted for body text.

Our brand imagery revolves around music, with records featured in most photos. We prioritize capturing the in-store experience, aiming for a vintage aesthetic. While people can be included, they shouldn't overshadow the focus on music.
We use two primary patterns to ensure consistent brand representation across all of our platforms.
The first pattern features a repetition of our logo mark, arranged to form a cohesive and recognizable design element. This pattern is included in packaging, backgrounds, websites, posters, and more. The second pattern draws inspiration from the swirls of the frogs' eyes. These patterns enhance brand recognition and versatility, allowing seamless adaptation across many applications.
