The main aim of the project Pattiseema is to provide Irrigation water for two agricultural crops across the year for thousands of Farmers and drinking water supplies for the villages in Guntur, Krishna, Kadapa,Ananthapur, and Chittoor districts which are water-starved regions inAndhra Pradesh.
The Pattiseema project has one of the largest pump houses inAsia with 24 pumping units which are widely spread across an area of 7476 sq m. This project has a combined capacity of discharging 240 cumecs of water These pumps are used to deliver water drawn from the river Godavari in Pattiseema into the Polavaram Project Right Main Canal in the Krishna river delta

The Pattiseema project faced many obstacles in its initial stages from the opposition parties.Though there are many objections and hurdles regarding the project the former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu took the bold decision of taking up the project and helped thousands of farmers in cultivating 1.3 million acres that face water shortage from June toAugust.
The Pattiseema project was completed in a Record time of one year (2015-2016) and became the first irrigation project in the country to be completed without any enhancements in the budget and received recognition from the Limca Book of Records for integrating Krishna and Godavari rivers within a year's time.And this is considered one of theTopTDPAchievements.
