WELCOME We’re back! After a two year absence, the Thanet Beer and Cider Festival returns to the Winter Gardens with its usual dazzling array of Real Ales and Traditional Ciders.

We trust that, with this year’s line up of ales, both draught and bottled plus, of course, the Cider Bar, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The food offer is a little different this year, as the venue is unable to provide catering but rest assured there will be tasty fare, both hot and cold, on the menu in the Queen’s Hall.

You will no doubt be aware that this will be the last festival at the Winter Gardens for the foreseeable future and I would like to thank the management and staff for their assistance and support over the past 15 years. We hope to be organising something in 2023 and feelers have already been put out regarding a new

venue somewhere in Thanet. Please keep in touch via our website www.thanetcamra.org.uk.

As usual, our loyal band of volunteers has stepped up to the plate and come out in force to organise and set up the festival and then give up their Easter Holiday to serve the beer. My sincere and heartfelt thanks goes to all of them, along with the members of the Festival Committee, who begin arranging the next festival almost as soon as the previous one finishes!

Finally, a big thank you to you, our loyal customers for supporting us. Have a great time and we hope to see you somewhere on the island next year.

We’ve strived to bring you the best beers, both locally sourced and from all four corners of the UK and hope that you’re able to find many things to delight your taste buds. All our beers are numbered and we would ask that you help our volunteers to serve you faster by knowing the beer number you wish to order before approaching the appropriate area of the bar, especially at busy times. Unfortunately, the festival is unable to guarantee the availability of any beer at any particular point during the festival, we apologise in advance if the beer you want to try has sold out. RESIST - AN ANTI-IMPERIAL STOUT A group of besieged Ukrainian brewers (drinkersforukraine.com) put their recipe out to the world asking for it to be adopted, adapted and sold in more fortunate countries with the proceeds going to the Red Cross's humanitarian effort.

Mike Beaumont, Broadstairs' Four Candles Brewpub, had a chat with Eddie Gadd, Ramsgate Brewery, and they are proud to launch RESIST Anti-Imperial Stout as their contribution to the cause at their favourite beer festival, Thanet Easter Beer Festival, on Friday 15 April.

It contains 9kg of allotment-grown beetroot, a key part of the Ukrainian recipe and which was a new ingredient to both of Mike and Eddie, and was bottled with the help of Kevin Harding (from the 39 Steps) and his Ukrainian wife Taisiya whose dramatic escape from the occupied east of the country is known to some of you.

This one-off brew of just over 300 bottles will be available at the Thanet Easter Beer Festival at £20 for a 750ml bottle.

Kevin and Taisiya Harding will be manning the stall. It's very special to all of us and is in a great cause, so please buy some.
