Fashion Journal of Vienna

Posle zbirke „Modni žurnal Srbije” Aleksandrija Ajduković čitaocima i posmatračima predstavlja i naše manekene-amatere koji žive u glavnom gradu Austrije. Umetnica je i ovoga puta odlično upotrebila provereni obrazac: „intimna” fotografija + lična priča. Poseban šarm celom projektu daje originalni dokumentarni karakter priloga. Niti je šta oduzeto, niti dodato, ljudi su onakvi kakvi jesu, rečeno je rečeno i zapisano, a „model” je ovekovečen na slici u knjizi.

Ukus, odnosno stil, predstavlja važan deo ličnosti. U konzumentski orijentisanom društvu teško je formirati vlastiti ukus, odnosno odupreti se robovanju trendovima, oponašanju stila svog ili željenog društvenog sloja i preuzimanju njegovih „modnih propisa”. A. Ajduković nam je uprkos tome u svojoj novoj zbirci prikazala raznolike tipove (likove) s posebnim pristupima opštim mestima. S obzirom na to da ne živi u Beču, presek je prilično reprezentativan. Iako nema mnogo iznenađenja, svaka pojava u knjizi u kratkim crtama oslikava svoj potpuno jedinstveni svet.

Sociološka vrednost „Modni žurnal Beča” je neosporna. Iz izjava «modela» može se saznati dosta o sudbinama „naših” ljudi u Beču, njihovom pogledu na svet, odnosu sa Austrijancima i prema gradu u kojem žive, kao i prema drugim bivšim Jugoslovenima. Modna ekskurzija Aleksandrije Ajduković u svakom slučaju se isplatila: kako za modele, tako i za čitaoce.

After she published her first book “Serbian Fashion Journal”, Aleksandrija Ajduković now presents our “amateur models” living in the capital of Austria to the readers and spectators.

The artist successfully applies her already well-proven formula: “intimate” photography + personal story. The original documentary character of the feature gives a certain charme to the whole project. Nothing has been added or taken, the people are portrayed the way they really are, what has been said has been said and written down and the “model” immortalized in print and picture.

The taste or style v is an important part of someone’s personality. In today’s consumer society, it is difficult to form your own taste, that is, to withstand the slavery of trends, not to imitate the style of one’s own or the style of a desired social group and accept those “fashion rules”. Aleksandrija Ajduković shows us in her new book different characters combined with special access to ordinary places. Considering that she doesn’t live in Vienna, the way she presents people is rather representative. Even though there are not many surprises, each person appearing in the book maps out in a few strokes his/her completely unique world.

The sociological value of “Vienna Fashion Journal” is undisputed. The statements of “models” reveal a lot about the destinies of “our” people in Vienna, of their view of the world, their relationship with Austrians and to the city they live in, as well as to other Ex-Yugoslavs. In any case Aleksandrija Ajduković’s fashion excursion has paid off: for the “models” as well as for the readers.

Nach ihrem “Modni žurnal Srbije” (Modejournal Serbiens) stellt Aleksandrija Ajduković ihrer Leserschaft und ihren Beobachtern unsere “Amateurmodels”, die in der Hauptstadt Österreichs leben, vor. Die Künstlerin hat auch diesmal ihre bereits erprobte Formel - “intime” Fotografie + persönliche Geschichte – gut angewandt. Der originelle, dokumentarische Charakter des Beitrags verleiht dem ganzen Projekt einen besonderen Charme. Nichts wurde hinzugefügt oder abgezogen, die Leute sind authentisch, das Gesagte wurde gesagt und niedergeschrieben und das Model wurde fotografisch im Buch verewigt.

Der Geschmack, bzw. der Stil ist ein wichtiger Teil der Persönlichkeit. In der heutigen Konsumgesellschaft ist es schwer, einen eigenen Geschmack aufzubauen, d.h. den gängigen Trends, dem Nachahmen des Stils der eigenen oder der gewünschten Gesellschaftsgruppe zu widerstehen, sowie sich an die gesellschaftlichen “Modevorschriften” nicht anzupassen. Trotzdem stellt uns Aleksandrija Ajduković in ihrem neuen Buch verschiedene Persönlichkeiten vor kombiniert mit einem besonderenm Zugang zu allgemeinen Plätzen. Unter Berücksichtigung der Tatsache, dass Aleksandrija nicht in Wien lebt, ist ihre Darstellung repräsentativ. Auch ohne große Überraschungen, malt jede Person im Buch in einer kurzen Geschichte ihre vollkommen einzigartige Welt.

Der soziologische Wert des “Modejournal Wien” ist unumstritten. Aus den Aussagen der “Models” kann man viel über die Schicksale “unserer” Leute in Wien erfahren, über ihre Weltanschauung, die Beziehung zu Österreichern und zu der Stadt in der sie leben, sowie zu anderen Ex-Jugoslawen. Die Modeexkursion von Aleksandrija Ajduković hat sich jedenfalls ausgezahlt: sowohl für die Models als auch für die Leserinnen und Leser.

MODNI ŽURNAL ILI ARTIKULACIJA KOLONIZOVANOG IDENTITETA Fashion Journal or an articulation of a colonised identity

Ciklus radova Aleksandrije Ajduković pod zajedničkim nazivom Modni žurnal iako izvorno potpada pod postkonceptualne strategije u okvirima savremene umetničke prakse, zapravo predstavlja jednu od značajnijih antropoloških studija rađenih na postjugoslovenskom prostoru od vremena raspada zajedničke države. Kulturološki i fenomenološki, u fokusu rada / istraživanja su lica koja bi u okviru razvijenijih klasnih klasifikacija sa engleskog govornog područja spadala u tipove C, D i E [Izvor: Office of National Statistics (ONS), London ,UK], tj. nominalno pod termine lower middle-, working- i under-class, ili se kretali u prostoru opštih pojmova unprivileged i dispossessed. U srpskom društvu u kome su socijalne razlike izraženije od klasnih, gotovo svi učesnici bi se s lakoćom mogli podvesti pod pojam obespravljeni. Bilo da su državni službenici, samostalni preduzetnici, studenti, kvalifikovani i nekvalifikovani radnici, nezaposleni ili besposličari, oni se na prvi pogled kreću na marginama društvenih zbivanja, daleko od rukovodećih procesa koji presudno utiču na njihovu sudbinu. Oni čine planetarnu većinu, revolucionarni potencijal društvenih promena, do kojih, na žalost, već duži vremenski period ne dolazi. Živeći u društvima uređenim po vertikalnom predstavničkom sistemu u kojem im se potencijalni predstavnici nameću odozgo kao kandidati političkih partija koji će u skupštini navodno zastupati baš njihove interese, obespravljeni svojim učešćem na izborima zapravo legitimišu plutokratiju verujući lažnim demokratskim načelima koja se nameću kao jedina ispravna mogućnost putem propagande. Da bi progaganda imala efekta političke ideje se moraju servirati pojednostavljeno i razumljivo.

Obično se barata željama koje su obespravljenima najbliža srcu: govori se o jednakosti, smanjenju socijalnih razlika, zagarantovanom pravu na besplatno školovanje, obezbeđenom besplatnom zdravstvu i socijalnim pogodnostima za siromašne i invalide, niskoj poreskoj stopi, ekologiji, obnovljivim energetskim resursima, garantovanom minimalcu, otvaranju novih radnih mesta i neprekidnom rastu po godišnjoj stopi od 7%. I tako decenijama. U međuvremenu neokolonijalni ratovi dobijaju futurističke dimenzije, 90% svih turista na svetu dolazi iz 10 najbogatijih zemalja sveta, uvodi se državni intervencionizam na Zapadu... U poslednje navedenom fenomenu treba naglasiti da je u pitanju jedan od neobičnijih događaja u novijoj istoriji. Veliko prelivanje državnog novca iz nacionalnih trezora (većinom ubiranog porezom od nižih društvenih slojeva) u džepove upravljačkih slojeva banaka, osiguravajućih društava i korporacija u privatnom vlasništvu (tip A), proglašeno je za prvorazrdni interes spasavanja stubova društva posle čije propasti bi, kako tvrde poltičari, nastao opšti haos i rasulo. Ovaj proces se odvija

bez vlasničke ili kakve druge participacije onih od kojih je taj novac i uzet. Prema Đorđu Agambenu [Đorđo Agamben (1942), italijanski filozof, spada među najznačajnije političke filozofe današnjice. U svojim delima se bavi pitanjima savremene političke etike nakon pada Berlinskog zida, pitanjima biopolitike, filozofije jezika, itd. (prim. a.)], „ograničenja slobode koje su građani takozvanih demokratskih država danas spremni da prihvate daleko su veća od onih od pre, recimo, 20 godina“ [Đorđo Agamben: „Svi smo pod istragom“; NIN br. 2978; Beograd, 24. 1. 2008] Opšta opsednutost bezbednošću, paketi mera za njegovo unapređenje koji sadrže pretpostavke postojanja zločina u nameri, projekti arhiviranja DNK, kompanije koje se bave proizvodnjom biometrijskih aparata koje lobiraju za njihovo postavljanje u osnovne škole i menze kako bi se deca od malih nogu navikla na takve kontrole, po Agambenu „imaju za cilj stvaranje pokornih građana koji toga uopšte nisu ni svesni“ [Ibid.].

Na kraju svog obraćanja Agamben zaključuje da „značajnu ulogu u tom procesu igraju i mediji koji, postepeno gubeći sposobnost kritičkog predstavljanja stvari, sve više postaju instrumenti vlasti“ [Ibid.].

U datim okolnostima Modni žurnal predstavlja ogledalo zatečenog stanja posttranzicionog društva na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije, viđenog kroz prizmu onih socijalnih slojeva koji su bili direktne ili indirektne žrtve preobražaja bivše države u nadzirani polukolonijalni prostor za svakovrsne oblike savremene eksploatacije od sex trefikinga do dužničkog ropstva. Neuređenost, plutokratska vladavina, netransparentna transformacija društvenih dobara u privatno vlasništvo, kartelizacija tržišta, uspon latifundista i opšta pauperizacija stanovništva su zajednički imenitelj većine novonastalih država na ovom području. Pad standarda očigledan je i u nekad najrazvijenijim područjima zajedničke države, a socijalno raslojavanje je postalo opšte mesto međusobnog prepoznavanja sredina nekada obuhvaćenih istovetnom državnom upravom. Realizovan kao in situ projekt, na više različitih lokacija, oskudnim sredstvima (fotografije, najčešće u pleneru, bez dodatne opreme, uz mini intervju, nekoj vrsti ličnog iskaza portretisanih o modi i društvenim okolnostima u kojima su se zatekli), Modni žurnal udara u samu srž aktuelnog trenutka. Kako je to istakao Želimir Žilnik [Želimir Žilnik (1942), jedan od najistaknutijih predstavnika autorskog filma s područja Jugoslavije, protagonist jugoslovenskog Crnog talasa. Autor mnogobrojnih igranih i dokumentarnih filmova s izraženom socijalnom tematikom, koji obrađuju živote različitih grupacija: omladine na selu, beskućnika, gastarbajtera, travestita... Njegov dugometražni igrani film Rani Radovi dobitnik je Zlatnog medveda na Berlinskom filmskom festivalu 1969. (prim. a.)] u jednom od intervjua [Dominika Prejdova: Ljudi sa margine društva su pokretačka sila života na Balkanu, intervju sa Želimirom Žilnikom, iz Za ideju, Protiv stanja – analiza i sistematizacija umetničkog stvaralaštva Želimira Žilnika, Centar za nove medije_kuda.org i Playground produkcija, Novi Sad 2009], iskustva čoveka na margini kao direktnog oponenta vladajućeg stanja predstavljaju esenciju života i kulture preživljavanja na Balkanu. Ono što Aleksandrija Ajduković čini jeste upravo postavljanje «modela» u okvire njihovog iskustvenog polja. Kroz priču o modi, otvara se introspektivna ravan iskaza o ličnim preferencijama, obrazovnom profilu, društvenom statusu, socijalnom bekgraundu, kao i čitav niz vrednosnih sudova i refleksija kojim se “modeli”

pozicioniraju u odnosu na stečeni status i društvo u okviru kojeg se on oblikuje i realizuje.

Ovo je posebno istaknuto u segmentu ciklusa koji je rađen u Beču, čiji su protagonisti emigranti sa područja nekadašnje Jugoslavije. Emigrantski identitet je unekoliko distorziran samim činom izmeštanja iz «prirodnog», formativnog ambijenta, obeleženog jezičkom, kulturnom, etničkom i socijalnom pripadnošću, dodatno vezanog za porodično nasleđe i sunarodništvo. Emigrantski milje Beča opterećen je i činjenicom da je velika većina novijih pridošlica stigla prisilno, tokom i nakon ratnih razaranja u bivšoj Jugoslaviji devedesetih, gde su međuetnička netrpeljivost i nepoverenje dojučerašnjih sunarodnika utkani u stubove ideologije nezavisnosti novonastalih država [Ovde bi trebalo naglasiti da i sam autor deli slična iskustva s učesnicima projekta. Aleksandrija Ajduković je početkom oružanih sukoba u Hrvatskoj u leto 1991, kao petnaestogodišnjakinja, izbegla s ocem iz stana u Štrosmajerovoj ulici u centru Osijeka za Srbiju. Smešteni su s drugim izbeglicama s područja istočne Slavonije u hotelu Sloboda u Somboru, u kojem je delila sobu s devojkama iz Borovog Sela, mesta prokaženog kao centar oružanog otpora Srba otcepljenju Hrvatske. Po Aleksandrijinom svedočenju, devojke iz Borovog sela su u opštem beznađu izbegličkog položaja vreme ubijale sedeći u sobi i duvajući lepak. Majka je ostala u Osijeku u roditeljskoj kući, u uspostavljenoj Glavaševoj ratnoj upravi i glavu joj je verovatno spasla činjenica da je bila poslanik u Hrvatskom saboru kao nezavisni kandidat. Tokom devedesetih, u hrvatskim novinama moglo se pročitati da je ona, iako sitna i krhke građe, precizni nišandžija iz snajpera. U stan u Štrosmajerovoj se odmah uselila porodica očeve koleginice s posla i do danas je u njihovom posedu.]. Taj milje, markiran pežorativnim kulturrasističkim terminom Jugo, obuhvata širok pojas socijalnih slojeva, od političkih emigranata iz 50-ih godina prošlog veka, preko talasa ekonomskih migranata šezdesetih i sedamdesetih (koji je uključivao podjednako nekvalifikovane radnike i univerzitetski obrazovane stručnjake), ratnih izbeglica devedestih, do najnovijeg talasa ekonomskih migranata posle dvehiljadite. Računa se da ova grupacija čini oko 10% ukupnog broja stanovnika grada i u većini je čine pripadnici nižih društvenih slojeva. Koncentrišući se na predstavnike 2 poslednja migraciona talasa, Modni žurnal Beča putem klasnih i socijalnih opservacija nove generacije emigranata istražuje paradigmatske modele uspostave novog identiteta u nametnutim okolnostima. Svako od portretisanih je osim odevnih predmeta nepogrešivo birao odgovarajući ambijent za fotografisanje koji odgovara stereotipnom ponašanju društvenih grupacija kojima pripada. Tako se Goran Novaković, prevodilac zaposlen pri gradskom uredu za integraciju stranaca, fotografiše u dvorištu Muzeumskvartira, omiljenog stecišta za intelektualnu dokolicu, Dženana Hadžić, studentkinja pedagogije i hiphop plesačica svoj set odrađuje kraj priobalskog šetališta na Donaukanalu u blizini Švedenplaca, poznatijem kao središte klabinga, dok Miša i Martina za sebe biraju popularno vikend izletište proleterijata, brdo Kalemberg. Svi oni, u tako oblikovanim okolnostima, zauzimaju pozu nadmoći, oličenu u podsvesnoj simulaciji predstave realizovane konformističke fantazije preuzete iz ikonografskih matrica lajfstajl magazina, opušteni, nasmejani, čak drčni. Ceo ciklus se može podvesti pod reči Gorana Novakovića koje su deo njegove ispovesti u okviru rada: „Ne postoji jedan život, svako vodi po nekoliko, nekoliko tajnih, nekoliko javnih i svakom tom životu pripada neki stil“, da bi potom zaključio kako „... ljudi definitivno vole da liče jedni na druge, ako pripadaju istoj sekti“.

Even though it originally belongs to post-conceptual strategies within modern artistic practice, a series of works by Aleksandrija Ajduković titled Fashion Journal actually represents one of the more significant anthropological studies performed in the post-Yugoslav territory since the break-up of the country. In terms of culturology and phenomenology, this work / research focuses on the people who, under the elaborate social class classification in the English speaking world, fit into types C, D and E [Source: Office of National Statistics (ONS), London ,UK], i.e. nominally under the lower middle-, working- and under-class; in other words, they move between the general terms of unprivileged and dispossessed. In the Serbian society, where social differences are more evident than the class ones, almost all participants could easily be described with the term oppressed. Whether they are public servants, entrepreneurs, students, qualified or unqualified workers, unemployed or idlers, they apparently remain on the margins of society, far from the leadership processes which have a defining effect on their destiny. They make up a planetary majority, a revolutionary potential for change in society, the change which unfortunately has not occurred for a long time now. Living in the societies based upon a vertical representative system in which their potential representatives are imposed from above as candidates of political parties who will allegedly represent their interests in the parliament, the oppressed actually legitimise the plutocracy by participating in the elections and believing in false democratic principles imposed through propaganda as the only regular possibility. In order for the propaganda to have effect, political ideas must be served in a simplified and understandable way. This is usually done by juggling with the ideas which the oppressed hold specially dear: these are stories about equality, smaller social differences, guaranteed right to free education, free health service and social benefits provided for the poor and disabled, low tax rates, ecology, renewable energy resources, guaranteed minimum wage, new jobs and continuous growth at an annual rate of 7%. And this goes on for decades. In the meantime, the neo-colonial wars acquire futuristic dimensions, 90% of all tourists in the world come from 10 of the world’s richest countries, state interventionism is introduced in the West... As far as the last phenomenon is concerned, it is worth pointing out that it belongs among the most unusual events in the modern history. A huge discharge of the state money from the national treasuries (mostly collected as tax money from the lower social classes) into the pockets of management bodies of banks, insurance companies and privately owned corporations (type A) was proclaimed a paramount interest aimed at saving the pillars of the society which if crumbled would, in the words of politicians, cause total chaos and turmoil.

This process is taking place without any ownership (or any other sort of) participation of the people who the money was taken from in the first place. According to Giorgio Agamben [Giorgio Agamben (1942), an Italian philosopher, one of the most significant political philosophers of our age. In his works he deals with the issues of modern political ethics after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the questions of biopolitics, the philosophy of language, etc.

(A/N)], “the limitations of freedom that the citizens of the so-called democratic countries are ready to accept today are far greater than it was the case, for instance, 20 years ago” [Giorgio Agamben: „Svi smo pod istragom“; NIN No. 2978; Belgrade, 24/01/2008]. A global obsession with security, packages of measures aimed at improving it, with built-in as-

sumption that there are criminal intentions, DNA archiving projects, companies producing biometric appliances which lobby for setting up these appliances in primary schools and canteens so that children would get used to such control from an early age, according to Agamben “is aimed at creating obedient citizens who are not aware of the fact at all“ [Ibid.].

At the end of his statement, Agamben concludes that “an important role in this process belongs to the media which, gradually losing the ability of critical representation of the situation, more and more become the instruments of power“ [Ibid.].

In the described circumstances Fashion Journal represents a mirror of the current state of post-transitional society in the region of former Yugoslavia, seen through a prism of those social classes which were the direct or indirect victims of the transformation of the former country into a surveilled semi-colonial territory serving for various types of modern exploitation ranging from sex-trafficking to debt slavery. Disorganized society, plutocratic government, non-transparent transformation of public into private property, cartelisation of the market, the rise of the latifundists and a general pauperisation of the population are common to the majority of newly formed states in this region. The degradation of the standard of living is obvious even in once most developed parts of former Yugoslavia and the rise of social differences has become a commonplace area of identification between the communities which used to be in the same state in the past. Realised as an in situ project, in several locations, using scarce resources (photographs, mostly in plain air, without additional equipment, accompanied by a short interview, a sort of a personal opinion of the portrayed people about the fashion and social circumstances they found themselves in), Fashion Journal hits the very essence of the moment. As pointed out by Želimir Žilnik [Želimir Žilnik (1942), one of the most prominent representatives of auteur film from former Yugoslavia and a protagonist of the Yugoslav Film Noire. The author of many feature and documentary films with a strong social theme, dealing with the lives of different groups: young people living in the countryside, homeless people, gastarbeiters (migrant workers), transvestites...

His feature film Rani Radovi (Early Works) won the Golden Bear at the 1969 Berlin Film Festival. (A/N)] in one of his interviews [Dominika Prejdova: People from the margins of the society are the driving force of life in the Balkans, interview with Želimir Žilnik, from the book Za ideju, Protiv stanja – analiza i sistematizacija umetničkog stvaralaštva Želimira Žilnika, Centar za nove medije_kuda.org and Playground produkcija, Novi Sad 2009], the experience of a person on the margin as a direct opponent of the status quo represents the essence of the life and culture of survival in the Balkans. Aleksandrija Ajduković actually places a “model” within their experiential field. Through the conversation about fashion, an introspective level of the account surfaces, revealing personal preferences, educational profile, social status & background, and a whole range of opinions and reflections which position the “models” in relation to the acquired status and the society in which it is shaped and realised. This is particularly prominent in the segment of the series which was shot in Vienna, featuring emigrants from former Yugoslavia. The emigrant identity is partially distorted by the very act of displacement from the “natural” formative environment marked by a linguistic, cultural, ethnic and social affiliation and furthermore related to family background and compatriotism. The emigrant milieu of Vienna is also burdened

by the fact that an overwhelming majority of recent immigrants arrived there because they were forced to leave the former Yugoslavia during and after the war and devastation in the nineties, and the inter-ethnic intolerance and distrust among former compatriots are built into the pillars of the ideology of independence of the new countries [It should be pointed out that the author herself shares this experience with the participants of the project. With the start of war operations in Croatia in the summer of 1991, Aleksandrija Ajduković, 15 at the time, flees from her home in Štrosmajerova street in downtown Osijek with her father to Serbia. They find accommodation together with other refugees from Eastern Slavonia in Hotel Sloboda (Freedom) in Sombor, where she shares a room with girls from Borovo Selo, the place infamous as the centre of Serbian armed resistance to Croatia’s separation from Yugoslavia. Aleksandrija witnesses that the girls from Borovo Selo, in midst of a sheer turmoil of their position as refugees, spent their time sitting around in the room and sniffing glue. Her mother stayed in Osijek in her parents’ house; a Croatian warlord, Glavaš, established a wartime authority in the town and her life was probably saved owing to the fact that at the time she was an MP in Croatian Parliament as an independent candidate. Despite her tiny and fragile constitution, during the 90’s Croatian newspapers used to write that she was a skilled sniper. Their flat in Štrosmajerova was immediately occupied by a family of her father’s work colleague and it remains in their possession to date.]. This milieu, labelled by the pejorative cultural-racist term Jugo, includes a wide range of social classes and sub-classes, from political emigrants back from the 50-ies, over a wave of economic migrants in the sixties and seventies (which included both unqualified workers and experts with university education background), war refugees from the nineties, to the latest wave of economic migrants after 2000. This broad group is considered to make up about 10% of total population of the city and it consists mostly of the members of lower social classes. Focusing on the representatives of the latest two migration waves, Vienna Fashion Journal uses the class and social observations of the new generation of emigrants as a vehicle for exploring the paradigmatic models of the establishment of a new identity in imposed circumstances. Each of the portrayed participants, beside the garments they wore, unmistakably chose an appropriate environment for the photo session, typical for the stereotypical behaviour of the social group they belong to. Thus, Goran Novaković, a translator working in the City office for the integration of foreigners, has his photo taken in the yard of MuseumsQuartier, a favourite resort for intellectual pastime; Dženana Hadžić, a student of pedagogy and a hip hop dancer, performs her set by the strand at the Donaukanal near Schwedenplatz, known as the clubbing centre, while Miša and Martina choose a popular weekend resort for the proletariat, Kalemberg hill. In their chosen environment, they all assume the pose of superiority, embodied in a subconscious simulation of a display of realised conformist fantasy taken over from the iconographic matrices of lifestyle magazines, relaxed, smiling, even daring. The whole series can be summed up in the words of Goran Novaković, from his confession contained in this work: “There is not one life, each person lives several lives, a few secret ones and a few public ones, and there is a style pertaining to each of these lives“, concluding that “... people definitively like resembling each others, if they belong to the same sect”.

Završio sam kući, u Srbiji, mašinsku školu u Somboru. U Beč sam došao 1992. godine kad su počeli svi oni problemi u Jugoslaviji. Prvo sam se bavio jedno vreme muzikom. Svirao sam u svim ovde u našim ex jugoslovenskim lokalima. Potom sam počeo sređivati papire pošto je tad bilo baš komplikovano srediti papire, pogotovo ako dolaziš iz Srbije i počeo sam raditi u firmi kao bravar. Tu sam radio nekih sedam, osam, možda devet godina dok nisam stekao svoje papire. Potom sam ponovo počeo da se bavim muzikom i sasvim slučajno došao do ove televizije i počeo raditi kao producent, kamerman, montažer, moderator. To je Televizija Okto.

To je bečka televizija koja je donirana od grada Beča, ali samo za ljude koji rade baš na televiziji, producenti su prepušteni sami sebi, ali se i mi snalazimo dovoljno dobro. Mi moramo naći sponzore i tako to. Šta smo rekli još? Oženjen sam, imam dvoje dece. Zlatne. Ćerka se zove Stefana i ima 8 godina, odličan učenik, priča nemački perfektno. Bavi se pevanjem malo.

Inače, nemirna. Ali je prelepa. I imam sina od 4 godine koji je ,ono, uvek uz tatu.

Baš u televiziju me prati puno, ne voli ići u zabavište tako da ga mogu slobodno pustiti da montira emisiju. Šalim se. Ali, dobar je. Žena mi je isto iz Sombora. Za razliku od mene završila mnogo više škole i bavi se ovde pitanjem Roma. Radi u dosta priznatim ustanovama u Beču kao što je Volkshilfe i na par evropskih projekata. To je to.

Odeću mi kupuje žena. Otprilike na Mariahilfer Straße, to je jedna od najpoznatijih ulica u Beču i u Austriji uopšte. Najčešće se oblačim sportski. Znači, farmerice, košulje, majice. Ne nosim patike. Volim kožne jakne raznorazne. Imam raznorazne kožne jakne od onih klasičnih malo dužih pa do rokerica.Volim jakne sa puno džepova pošto uvek imam za nešto poneti, diskove, kasete. Zašto mi se dopadaju jakne?

Zato što kad te zimi neko vidi na ulici ili kad uđeš u lokal, prvo što se vidi je jakna, znaš, pa posle, cipele, ili čizme ili šta ja znam. Oblačim se po potrebi. Ako idem na bal, sigurno neću obući farmerice, čizme i jaknu kožnu. Imam smoking, ako je potrebno obući smoking ili imam klasično odelo. Mi pratimo dosta balove postoje srpski, hrvatski bal. Sad je najnovije da ima bosanski bal. Obilazimo austrijske balove. Bal stranaca na primer. Tu se pojavimo, snimamo reportaže i normalno da ću se obući elegantnije. Taj bal na kojem sa poslednji put bio i nije toliko elegantan. On se održava kad i ovaj Opernball [Bal bečke opere, prim. prev.]. Imao sam braon sako, somot braon pantalone i braon sportske cipele i rolku, crnu.

Frizura mi je ista već 20ak godina: rep i pored ušiju izbrijano. Nekad pustim kosu. Prikrijem nekad, nekad ne ide da na bal dođeš sa izbrijanom frizurom pa pustim kosu. Ljudi se u Austriji na balovima oblače lepo. Znači markirano, kvalitetno, lepo, stilski baš. Ženske su raznorazne. Ne mogu ti o ženskoj modi ništa puno pričati. Uglavnom su to balske haljine koje ovde možeš kupiti na svakom trećem ćošku. Mogu da ti pričam o muškarcima. Sve su to Boss, Armani, šta ja znam, odela baš s krojem, onako kako treba.

Sasvim slučajno sam saznao, pre otprilike dve godine, ili čak prošle sezone, da je Beograd bio po dnevnoj i noćnoj modi naj naj u svetu. Znači ni Francuzi, ni Italijani, nijedna modna kuća nije, tj. zemlja iz koje je ta modna kuća nije mogla da parira Beogradu. Bez obzira što naše devojke imaju nekih pedeset, sto evra da se obuku. Bolje su odevene nego u Beču.

Imam 4 parfema. Prvi moj parfem je bio Pino Silvestre. Ima kolonjska voda i ima parfem.

Parfem je ekstra skup ovde u Beču. Košta preko 100 evra tih 100 mililitara. Dosta je skup.

To je parfem koji ako imaš na sebi, baš zrači. Znači kad uđeš negde, svi osete da je ušlo baš nešto čisto, nekome šmeka nekome ne. Taj mi se sviđao dok sam bio mlad. Onda, imam Joop, crveni. Imam Boss-ov, nemam pojma koji je, nešto plavo. To je sad poslednji koji je izašao. Njega koristim dva meseca. I imam Kenzo parfem koji dolazi od nas dole. Ovde ga ne možeš naći. Jako retko. Čak u Hrvatskoj ga mnogo više ima.

Gledam najčešće moju emisiju jer moram otkriti neke eventualne greške. Inače je, momentalno, jedna od najpopularnijih emisija u Beču. Zove se „Ex Yu in Wien“ [Ex-Yu u Beču, prim. prev.]. Znači, svi bivši Jugosloveni u Beču, kako žive i šta rade, i šta ja znam. S vremena na vreme pogledam onu 48 sati, kad navatam. Pogledam raznorazne emisije na nemačkim televizijama, ne bi li nešto novo saznao, ne bi li dobio neku novu ideju za moju emisiju. Uglavnom su to one emisije tipa Popravljam stan, Gde letovati ili Šta skuvati. Volim sve vrste muzike osim tehno, repa i šta ja znam, sve ostalo volim. Pop, rok, džez, volim klasiku. Pri tom, u poslednje vreme sviram u tamburaškom orkestru, a dolazim iz oblasti gde se sluša starogradska muzika. To mi je sad najaktuelnije. Svirao sam gitaru drugo vremena, tako da od Pink Floyda sve do našeg Šabana sam slušao. Poslednju seriju koju sam gledao je bila ova Ranjeni orao. Recimo da mi se svidelo. Film, ja gledam mnogo filmova.

Najinteresantniji film koji sam pogledao se zove "Crvene čizme". Film govori o jednom Ciganinu, koji je prevario ženu. Ova saznaje za prevaru i proklinje ga, njena kletva biva uslišena i on gine pogođen gromom. Ulogu njegove majke tumači poznata mađarska pevačica Bangó Margit. Čitav film je prožet njenom specifičnom muzikom, što mu daje posebnu draž.

Volim one naše serije Žikina dinastija, Ljubav na seoski način, Kamiondžije. To je ono što ovde rado pogledamo jer nas to rado seća na ono kako se nekad živelo i podseti nas na naš mentalitet dole. Austrijanci imaju bezveze humor, oni misle da su duhoviti, pri tom to nema veze.

Pročitam sve novine zato što mi je koleginica Ceca najdraža žurnalistkinja u gradu.

Znači nije bitno da li je to markirana košulja, farmerice Levis 501 i parfem, ja se uhvatio za taj Armani, mada ga ja ne nosim. Ja volim da su mi farmerice uz telo skroz. Nemam nijednog idola. Nisam razmišljao o tome. Momentalno se oblačim najbolje što mogu da bih prikrio kilažu. Imam petnaestak kila više, sve to u stomaku tako da moram oblačiti crne košulje, crne majice, nekad neku jaknu. Sad sam u belom sasvim slučajno, to sam zbog tebe obukao. Leto je, pa ajde.

My name is Boban Buligović Pišta: I was born on 13 November 1973 (scorpio). Back home in Serbia I finished the technical school in Sombor. I came to Vienna in 1992 when all the problems in Yugoslavia started. At first I made music and have played in all our Ex-Yugoslav restaurants. After that I started taking care of my papers here, because it was very complicated back then, especially if you were from Serbia and I started working in a firm as a fitter. I stayed at the firm for the next 7, 8 or maybe 9 years until I got my papers in order.

Then I started making music again and by chance happened to find myself working for this TV station and started working as a producer, cameraman, editor, anchorman. That is the TV station OKTO, which is financed by the city of Vienna, but only the people employed by the TV station are being paid. The producers are left to fend for themselves. But we manage pretty well. We have to find sponsors and so on.

What else did we say? I’m married and have two kids. They’re sweet. My daughter Stefana is 8 years old, a good student, speaks perfect German. She also sings a little. But she’s also a little rascal. But she’s beautiful. I also have a four year old son, who is always by my side.

He comes to the TV station a lot, he doesn’t like going to the kindergarten, so I can easily let him edit my show. I’m kidding. But he’s a fine boy. My wife is also from Sombor. Unlike me, she stayed at school longer than I did and works on improving the situation of the Roma here in Austria. She works in fairly acknowledged institutions here in Vienna like Volkshilfe and in a couple of European projects. That’s it.

My wife buys my clothes. She shops mostly on the Mariahilfer Straße, which is one of the most famous streets in Vienna and in Austria in general. I mostly wear sporty clothes which include jeans, shirts, T-shirts. I don’t wear trainers. I like leather jackets, all kinds. I own all kinds of leather jackets, from classical ones, through some longer ones to rock style ones.

I like jackets with a lot of pockets, because I always have something I have to carry with me, CDs, cassettes. Why I like jackets? Because if someone sees you on the street in the winter or you enter some café, the first thing people see is the jacket, you know, then the shoes or boots, or whatever. I dress for the occasion. If I’m going to a ball I surely won’t be wearing jeans, boots and a leather jacket. I have a tuxedo if I have to wear one and I also have a classical suit. We go to a lot of balls. There is the Serbo-Croatian ball. The newest thing is the Bosnian ball. We also go to Austrian balls, like the foreigners’ ball. We to to the ball and we do a piece on it and it goes without saying that I’ll wear something elegant.

The ball I attended last was not all that elegant. This ball is held at the same time as the ball at the Opera. I wore a brown suit jacket, brown corduroy pants, brown shoes and black turtleneck.

My hairstyle has been the same for the last 20 years. It’s shaved around the ears and I wear a ponytail. I sometimes wear my hair long. I cover it up sometimes. You can’t go to a ball with shaved head, so I let my hair down. The people in Austria dress very nicely for the balls. They’re wearing brands, quality stuff, very nice, very stylish. The women are different. I can’t tell anything about women’s fashion. They wear mostly ball dresses, which

can be bought on every third street corner. I can talk about men. They wear Boss, Armani, whatever, suits that are well tailored, just as they should be.

About two years ago, or was it last season, I found out by chance that Belgrade was the leading city in the world for its fashion. Not even French, or Italians, none of the fashion design houses, none of the countries these fashion designers are from, was a match for Belgrade. And we have to consider that girls in Serbia have some 50 to 100 Euros at their disposal to buy clothes. They are better dressed than girls in Vienna.

I have four perfumes. My first perfume was Pino Silvestre. There is the eau de cologne and the perfume. The perfumes are very expensive in Vienna. They cost over 100 Euros for 100 ml. It’s pretty expensive. That is the sort of perfume that radiates when you wear it. So if you go someplace, people feel that something pure has entered. Some like it, some don’t.

I liked that one when I was young. Now I have red Joop. I have also one by Boss, it’s blue, have no idea which one it is. That’s the latest on the market. I have been using it for two months now. And then I have this Kenzo perfume that I bring over from Serbia. You can’t find it here. It’s very rare. You find it more often in Croatia.

I watch mostly my show, because I have to detect possible mistakes. This show is momentarily the most popular in Vienna. It’s called “Ex Yu in Wien”. So, it’s about how all Ex-Yugoslavs in Vienna live and what they do, and all that. From time to time, I watch “48 hrs”, when I get the chance. I also watch different programs on German TV stations, in order to find out something new and to come up with some new ideas for my program. I mostly watch programs about how to redecorate the apartment, where to go on holiday or what to cook.

I like all kinds of music apart from techno and rap. Everything else I kind of like. Pop, rock, jazz and I also like classical music. Lately I have started playing in a tamburitza orchestra and my origins are in the region where people listen to “starogradska muzika” (urban folk music). That is what I’m currently interested in. I used to play the guitar for a long time and have listened to everything ranging from Pink Floyd to our Šaban. The last TV series I was watching was “Ranjeni orao”. Let’s say I liked it. I watch a lot of movies.

The most interesting movie I have seen lately is about this Gypsy who cheated on his wife.

The wife finds out about it and she puts a curse upon him. This curse is fulfilled and he dies after being struck by lightning. The role of his mother in the movie plays a very famous Hungarian singer, Bangó Margit. During the whole movie you can hear her music, which makes it very special.

I love our TV series like “Žikina dinastija”, “Ljubav na seoski način”, “Kamiondžije”. That is what we watch here, because it reminds us of the way life used to be and of our mentality. Austrian humor is very strange. They think they’re witty, when in fact it doesn’t come even close.

I read all newspapers, because my colleague Ceca is my favourite journalist in town.

It is not important to me that I wear designer clothes, Levis 501’s and perfume. I’m talking about Armani all the time, even though I don’t wear anything made by Armani. I like wearing skinny jeans. I don’t have an idol. I have never thought about that. Currently I like to wear clothes that help me hide my weight. I’m about 15 kg heavier than I should be, and it’s all gone to my waist, so I wear black shirts, black T-shirts, sometimes a jacket. I’m wearing white now, which is just a coincidence, it’s because of this interview and it’s summer, so why not.

Ich heiße Boban Buligović Pišta. Geboren bin ich im Sternzeichen Skorpion, am 13.11.1973. Daheim, in Serbien ging ich in die Technische Schule in Sombor. Nach Wien kam ich 1992, als die ganzen Probleme in Jugoslawien angefangen haben. Zuerst habe ich Musik gemacht und spielte in allen hiesigen ex-jugoslawischen Lokalen. Danach begann ich meine Papiere in Ordnung zu bringen, was damals sehr kompliziert war, vor allem wenn man aus Serbien kam und ich begann in einer Firma als Schlosser zu arbeiten.

Dort arbeitete ich ca. sieben, acht, vielleicht sogar neun Jahre, bis ich die notwendigen Papiere bekommen habe. Danach kehrte ich zur Musik zurück und ganz zufällig begann ich im Fernsehen als Produzent, Kameramann, Cutter, Moderator. Der TV-Sender heißt Okto und wird von der Stadt Wien finanziert, aber nur für die Leute, die dort angestellt sind. Die Produzenten müssen für sich selber sorgen, aber wir schaffen es ziemlich gut. Wir müssen die Sponsoren usw. finden.

Was haben wir noch gesagt? Ich bin verheiratet, habe zwei goldige Kinder. Die Tochter heißt Stefana, ist 8 Jahre alt, sehr gute Schülerin, spricht perfekt Deutsch und singt ein bisschen.

Sie ist auch ein kleiner Bengel. Aber wunderschön ist sie. Mein Sohn ist vier und folgt mir überall. Er begleitet mich oft zum Fernsehen und mag nicht zum Kindergarten gehen. Ich kann ihn ruhig eine Sendung mitschneiden lassen. Ich scherze nur. Aber er ist brav. Meine Frau ist ebenfalls aus Sombor. Im Gegensatz zu mir, hat sie die höhere Ausbildung als ich und beschäftigt sich hierzulande mit der Roma-Frage. Sie arbeitet in einigen anerkannten Institutionen, wie z.B. Volkshilfe und bei einigen europäischen Projekten. Das wäre das.

Meine Frau kauft meine Kleider. Das macht sie meistens in der Mariahilfer Straße, die eine der bekanntesten Straßen in Wien und Österreich ist. Am meisten trage ich was Sportliches.

Das bedeutet Jeans, Hemden, Shirts. Ich trage keine Sportschuhe. Ich trage sehr gerne Lederjacken und besitze viele verschiedene, angefangen mit klassischen, etwas längeren bis zu den kürzeren, wie bei Rock Musikern. Ich mag Jacken mit vielen Taschen, da ich immer irgendetwas herumtrage, CDs oder Kassetten. Wieso mag ich Jacken? Weil das erste was man im Winter auf der Straße oder in einem Lokal an dir sieht ist die Jacke und erst dann Schuhe oder Stiefel, oder was anderes, weißt du. Ich habe auch einen Smoking, wenn ich einen tragen soll und ich habe auch einen klassischen Anzug. Wir gehen oft zu Bällen.

Es gibt einen serbischen, einen kroatischen und seit kurzem auch den bosnischen Ball. Wir gehen auch zu österreichischen Bällen, wie z.B. den Ball der Ausländer. Wir erscheinen dort, weil wir eine Reportage darüber drehen und es ist selbstverständlich, dass ich eleganter

gekleidet bin. Der letzte Ball an dem ich war, war nicht so elegant. Dieser Ball findet zur gleichen Zeit statt wie der Opernball. Ich trug ein braunes Sakko, braune Samthose, braune sportliche Schuhe und einen schwarzen Rollkragenpullover. Diese Frisur habe ich schon seit 20 Jahren. Das ist der Pferdeschwanz und neben den Ohren rasiert. Manchmal lasse ich meine Haare fallen. Manchmal muss ich den rasierten Teil kaschieren, da es nicht geht, zu einem Ball mit rasierten Haaren zu erscheinen. In Österreich kleidet man sich schön für die Bälle. Sie tragen Markenkleidung, Qualitätsware, etwas Schönes, etwas Stilvolles. Die Frauen sind anders. Ich kann dir nicht viel über die Frauenmode sagen. Das sind meistens Ballkleider, die man hier an jeder dritten Ecke kaufen kann. Ich kann dir von Männermode erzählen. Das sind alles Boss, Armani, was weiß ich. Das sind alles Maßgeschneiderte Anzüge, so wie es sich gehört.

Ganz zufällig habe ich vor ca. zwei Jahren, oder sogar letzte Saison, gehört, dass Belgrad an erster Stelle in der Welt war für seine Mode. Nicht mal die Franzosen oder die Italiener waren das, kein bekanntes Modehaus, oder Land aus dem das Modehaus ist, konnte Belgrad Konkurrenz machen. Und es macht nichts, dass unsere Mädels an die 50 bis 100 Euro für ihre Kleidung ausgeben können. Sie kleiden sich besser als die Mädels in Wien.

Ich habe vier Parfüms. Mein erstes Parfüm war Pino Silvestre. Davon gibt es ein Eau de Cologne und ein Parfüm. Parfüms sind sehr teuer in Wien. Die 100 ml kosten über 100 Euro. Das ist ziemlich teuer. Das ist das Parfüm, das regelrecht strahlt, wenn du es trägst.

Wenn du irgendwo reinkommst, riechen gleich alle, dass was Reines reingekommen ist.

Einigen gefällt es, einigen nicht. Den habe ich in meiner Jugend gerne getragen. Dann habe ich das rote Joop. Weiters habe ich ein Parfüm von Boss. Ich weiß nicht wie es heißt, es ist blau. Das ist das neueste am Markt und ich verwende es schon zwei Monate. Ich habe auch ein Kenzo Parfüm, das ich aus Serbien mitbringe weil du es hier nicht finden kannst. Auch in Kroatien kann man es finden.

Im Fernsehen schaue ich am meisten meine Sendung, weil ich eventuelle Fehler entdecken muss. Das ist derzeit eine der populärsten Sendungen in Wien. Sie heißt „ExYu in Wien“ und befasst sich mit allen Ex-Jugoslawen in Wien, wie sie leben und was sie machen usw. Manchmal, wenn ich Zeit habe, sehe ich mir die Sendung „48-Stunden“ an.

Ich schaue auch viele deutsche Sendungen, um etwas Neues zu erfahren, oder neue Ideen für meine Sendung zu bekommen. Das sind meistens die Sendungen darüber wie man sich die Wohnung einrichtet, wohin in den Sommerurlaub, was man kochen soll. Ich mag alle Musikrichtungen außer Rap und Techno. Weiß nicht, ich mag alles andere – Pop, Rock, Jazz, Klassik. Noch dazu spiele ich in einem Tamburizza Orchester und stamme aus einer Gegend in der man die sog. „starogradska“. [Eine urbane Variante der Volksmusik, Anm. d. Ü.] Musik hört. Das ist jetzt das Aktuellste bei mir. Ich spielte Gitarre lange und hörte alles von Pink Floyd bis Šaban. Die letzte TV-Serie, die ich gesehen habe war „Ranjeni orao“.

Sagen wir mal, dass es mir gefallen hat.

Ich schaue viele Filme. Der interessanteste Film, den ich in letzter Zeit gesehen habe, ist über diesen Zigeuner, der seine Frau betrügt. Sie erfährt davon und verflucht ihn. Dieser Fluch erfüllt sich und er stirbt nach einem Blitzschlag. Die Rolle seiner Mutter spielt die bekannte ungarische Sängerin Bangó Margit. Im Film spielt die ganze Zeit ihre spezifische Musik, was ihn besonders sehenswert macht.

Ich mag unsere TV-Serien, wie „Žikina dinastija“, „Ljubav na seoski način“, „Kamiondžije“.

Solche Sendungen sehen wir uns hier sehr gerne an, weil sie uns daran erinnern, wie man früher so gelebt hat und an die Mentalität der Menschen. Die Österreicher haben einen komischen Humor. Sie denken, sie seien witzig, dabei ist es weit davon entfernt.

Ich lese alle Zeitungen, weil meine Kollegin Ceca meine Lieblingsjournalistin in der Stadt ist.

Meine Kleider müssen nicht Markenware sein. Es muss kein Designerhemd, Levis 501 Jeans oder Parfüm sein. Ich rede ständig von Armani, wobei ich keine seiner Kleider trage.

Ich mag enge Jeans. Ich habe keine Vorbilder. Ich habe mir nie Gedanken darüber gemacht.

Derzeit trage ich Kleider, die meinen Übergewicht verbergen. Ich wiege etwa 15kg zu viel und alles setzt sich im Bauchbereich sodass ich schwarze Hemden, schwarze T-Shirts und manchmal eine Jacke trage. Heute trage ich zufällig wegen dir weiß Und es ist Sommer.

DANIELA PORTMANN-BOGOSAVAC

Ja se zovem Daniela Portmann-Bogosavac. Imam 37 godina. Živim u Beču od 1999., a pre toga sam živela u Beogradu, gde sam i rođena. Ovde sam došla da bih završila studije nemačkog koje sam u Beogradu započela, a ovde sam studije i završila. 2002.godine. Igrom slučaja, sam ostala da živim u Beču, iako nisam planirala. Planirala sam da se vratim. Ostala sam ovde i ovde sam se zaposlila kao sekretarica u jednoj velikoj advokatskoj kancelariji. Naći posao u struci nije bilo lako, tako da sam uzela prvo što mi se činilo da je o.k. i što sam već kao student radila. Sad radim u toj firmi već 6 godina i dobro mi je. Čak mogu da prevodim nemački, engleski, srpski jer imamo kontakata i sa Srbijom i tako.

Posao me ispunjava. Nije sad baš posao koji traži neki veliki intelektualni napor ili tera mnogo na razmišljanje, ali opet ima i nekih kreativnih elemenata i nije baš tako lak. Dosta radim samostalno. Često samostalno pišem pisma za svoga šefa, vodim celokupnu korespondenciju, organizujem jednostavno njegov poslovni život i OK, zadovoljna sam. Pošto sam uvek htela da budem prevodilac, a imam prilike da prevodim na poslu, tako da sam ispunjena što se toga tiče. Ovde sam došla sama preko nekih ljudi, Austrijanaca, koje sam još u Beogradu poznavala. Nemam porodicu ovde i to mi nedostaje, jer je porodica za mene jako važna. Svi su mi u Srbiji dole i u Bosni, ali sam našla prijatelje. Imam i Austrijanaca prijatelja. Mislim da vodim ispunjem život. Srećna sam ovde s te strane jer mi život u zemlji kakva je Austrija odgovara. Ja volim da odem u svoju domovinu, u Srbiju, ali tamošnja situacija nije stabilna. Nikako ništa ne funkcioniše, bar to što je meni važno, ni taj politički sistem. Ne kažem ja da je ovde idealno, ali ovde bar je čovek na prvom mestu, ipak. Oni se ovde i brinu za svoje građane i ja se ovde kao stranac ne osećam da nisam dobrodošla. Ima ljudi koji su prema strancima netolerantni, ali ako se ti ponašaš shodno zakonu, ako se integrišeš, ako si pristojan, tebe niko ne dira i meni to odgovara. Ja sam već 10. godina ovde i zadovoljna sam. Zdravstveni sistem je dobar. Ima uvek puno ljudi. Uvek se nešto dešava. Ima puno pozorišnih predstava, koncerata. Čak i dolaze pozorišta iz bivše Jugoslavije ovde. Družim se sa ljudima. To me ispunjava.

Ja nisam doživela te moje austrijske prijatelje kao neke hladne ljude. Ja znam da naš narod voli da kaže da su oni hladni. Ja iskreno nisam to primetila. Kada mi je mama umrla pre tri godine, moji austrijski prijatelji i prijatelji Švajcarci su isto bili tu za mene kad su mi trebali kao i prijatelji Srbi ili Hrvati, dakle iz „naših” krajeva. Tako da ih ne smatram hladnima. Jesu na početku malo distancirani, ali kad ih bolje upoznaš, vidiš da su ljudi isti kao i ti.

Meni taj ovdašnji način života i odgovara. Ta njihova preciznost i tačnost. Neka pravila moraju da se poštuju. Ja ne volim tako neke krive Drine. Ali ja opet imam i tog našeg temperamenta, burnog, balkanskog, ali mislim da sam izbalansirana.

Za mene nije bitno da odeća ima marku. To je za mene velika glupost. Npr. Chanel, ja to za sebe ne mogu da priuštim, ali mi i ne treba. Ali ne volim da nosim neke krpe, nešto jeftino.

Ja najviše volim Promod, Peek & Cloppenburg, Vero Moda, Mango. Neke od tih prodavnica nema u Beogradu, primetila sam. Promod je francuska marka. Volim Zaru mada mi u Zari mahom ništa ne odgovara jer oni imaju neke posebne krojeve. Doduše, smršala sam dosta, ali ranije dok sam imala deset kilograma više ja tamo ništa nisam mogla da kupim. Ima još ovde nekih prodavnica, Xanaka, H&M. Tamo se uvek nešto nađe. Ja volim neke malo eksravagantnije stvari. Ne volim da sam nešto uniformisana, npr. ima ovaj Esprit, Mexx, to su relativno skupe prodavnice u odnosu na to što nude, ali to je nekako vrlo dosadna moda, nema ničeg malo drugačijeg. Uvek sam volela da budem malo drugačija od proseka. Promod imaš u Mariahilfer Straße, u SCS-u i u Donauzentrum-u. Volim da nosim suknje. Pošto radim u advokatskoj kancelariji, kod njih je način odevanja strogo određen. Za sekretarice isto, ali ja imam takvog šefa koji nije toliko strog. Mahom nosim crne pantalone, štiklu i neku košulju ili bluzu, majicu. Petkom možemo da obučemo, to se zove casual Friday, tad možemo da obučemo farmerke. Najviše volim da nosim suknje do kolena ili do članka, ništa neki veliki minići, to ne volim.

Leti volim da obučem nešto lepršavo. Imam dosta nekih šarenih sukanja iz tog Promod-a.

Volim da često nosim jeans, farmerke. Komotne su. Sad se nose malo uže. To sad nosim.

Volim da nosim neki dekolte, kao danas, ali ne nešto preterano, da ne izgledam jeftino. Ne mislim da sam modna ikona, ali islim da imam svoj stil. Volim da nosim majice kao ova, prirodnih materijala, ne volim one poliestere, znoji se čovek, oseća se.

Kad idem na neku svečanu priliku, volim da se samoj sebi dopadnem. Pre svega da budem elegantna. Na poslednjoj svečanosti na kojoj sam bila imala sam haljinu bež boje, do kolena i bez rukava. I onda sam dole obula bež cipele, malo špicaste, vrlo elegantne. Stavila sam široki pašmina šal zelene boje, da malo razbije to bledilo, koktel torbicu. Ja se dosta dugo nisam šminkala. Već sam i studirala i nisam se šminkala, nekako me to nije zanimalo. Međutim, u poslednje vreme, volim da se šminkam i kad idem na posao, kad nije mnogo vruće, volim decentnije da se našminkam. Volim nešto na braon ili krem. Ne volim drečavo, čak i nemam crveni karmin. Ja sam do sada promenila ne znam koliko frizura. Sad sam imala neki manji problem u životu i mala sam kosu do ramena, stepenasto sečenu. Otišla sam kod frizerke i rekla: „Šišaj!” Nekako imam potrebu da promenim frizuru kad mi se dese neke značajne promene u životu.

Ove naočare su kupljene u prodavnici Filman (Fielmann) i nisu bile mnogo skupe, jesu Gucci, ali nisu bile skupe. Pre dve, tri godine sam probušila nos. Sad ne nosim ništa u ušima.

Dugo mi se to sviđalo. Ja se inače nigde drugo ne bih pirsovala, iznad oka npr. ili na jeziku.

Ovaj pirsing na nosu je dovoljan. Šta da kažem, ja mislim da se ovde mladi ljudi vrlo različito oblače. Imaš onih šlampavih koji nose pantalone do pola zadnjice. Imaš onih što se šminkaju skroz crno, što se kod nas ne-

kad zvalo „darkeri”, sad se zovu Goths, pa imaš ove što nose sve na tufnice, ne znam kako se ti zovu. Mladi ljudi se vrlo različito oblače u zavisnosti kojoj grupi pripadaju. Ja sam na primer razgovarala sa nekima koji rade u Zari i oni kažu da oni sasvim drugačiju vrstu mode šalju u Austriju, konzervativniju, nego u Italiji ili Španiji.

Stariji svet je nešto konzervativniji. Mislim da se u Srbiji više pazi na tu neku lepotu, eto, da se bude lepa. Svaka žena pre svega želi da se dopadne.U Srbiji su žene spremne da i same nešto sebi sašiju. Mama je meni i mojoj sestri uvek šila iz onih Burdi. Ja sam navikla da kada mi je sašiveno da mi sve to lepo stoji, jer mama sašije po mojoj meri. Ovde se više nosi konfekcija, dok žene u Srbiji više pokušavaju da nešto same naprave, da to bude drugačije.

Volim da čitam i ukus mi je vrlo šarolik. Pošto sam studirala jednu jako tešku i sumornu literaturu - nemačka literatura je prilično teška - onda sam po završetku studija više počela da čitam npr. krimiće, lagane stvari. Volim da čitam Agatu Kristi (Agatha Christie), Džonatan Kelermana (Jonnathan Kellerman) i Fej Kelerman (Faye Kellerman). U poslednje vreme sam se vratila austrijskoj literaturi. Ja sam diplomira na Jozefu Rotu (Joseph Roth). On je za mene jedan od najboljih pisaca nemačkog govornog područja i on je jedan od najcenjenijih austrijskih pisaca. Upravo čitam knjigu njegovih pripovedaka. Svaki od njegovih likova nosi neku tragiku. Oni puste da ih život vuče, predaju se. U jednoj od pripovedaka jedna devojka se predala jednom muškarcu, jer drugačije ne može, što je u to vreme bilo moralno i socijalno neprihvatljivo.

Volim da gledam naučnu fantastiku, komedije, krimiće, trilere. Moje najomiljenije serije su „Star Trek - The Next Generation”, „Mućke” i „Crna Guja”. Drame mogu da pogledam, ali to me rastuži i počnem da plačem. Volim rok, pop, latinoameričku i klasičnu muziku. Obožavam Gloriu Estefan (Gloria Estefan). Ona mene toliko podigne.

Volim da nosim parfeme i nisam verna samo jednom parfemu, ali ne volim parfeme koji sladunjavo mirišu. Volim Joop „Muse“, Kenzo.

My name is Daniela Portmann-Bogosavac. I am 37 years old and have been living in Vienna since 1999. Prior to that I lived in Belgrade where I was born. I came to Vienna to finish my German language studies, which I started in Belgrade and finished here in 2002. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have stayed in Vienna, even though I did not plan it that way.

I have planned to return to Belgrade. But I’ve stayed here and am working as a secretary in a big law firm. Finding a job in the field I have studied was difficult, so I found myself a job I thought was o.k. and which I did in the past as a student. I have been working at the law firm for 6 years now and I’m doing fine. I sometimes even translate into (or from) German or Serbian, since we have business contacts with Serbia and so on.

My job is fulfilling. It is not a job that always requires much intellectual effort, but it has its creative sides and it is not all that easy to do. I have my own responsibilities, write

some of my employer’s letters myself, am in charge of his correspondence – I simply organize his daily routine and it’s fine. I’m satisfied. I have always wanted to be a translator and there are opportunities for me to do some translating at work, so I’m fulfilled as far as that is concerned. I came to Vienna alone. I knew an Austrian family back in Belgrade.

When they moved back to Vienna I stayed with them as au-pair for a while. I don’t have any family here. That is what I miss, because family is very important to me. Most of my family is in Serbia, some of them are in Bosnia and in Germany, but I’ve made good friends here and I have Austrians as friends as well. I think I lead a fulfilled life. I am happy here, because life in a country such as Austria suits me. I like going to my homeland, Serbia, but the situation there is not very stable. Nothing seems to function any more, at least the things that are important to me, not even the political system. I’m not saying it’s ideal here, but at least an individual is important. Everyone is taken care of as a citizen and I do feel welcome here as a foreigner. There are people who are intolerant towards foreigners, but if you act according to the law, if you integrate, if you behave in an orderly fashion, nobody bothers you and that suits me. The health care system is fine. There are always a lot of people around. There is always something happening - a lot of theatrical performances, concerts, also theatres from Ex-Yugoslavia perform in Vienna. I have my friends who I go out with and that fulfils me.

I do not perceive my Austrian friends as cold. I know that our people like to say Austrians are cold, but I honestly did not notice that. When my mum died four years ago, my Austrian and Swiss friends were there for me as well as my Serbian or Croatian friends, people from “our” part of the world. So no, I don’t find them cold. At first they may seem somewhat distanced, but when you get to know them better, you see they’re just like you.

I like the lifestyle here. I like the preciseness and accurateness. There are rules that have to be obeyed. I don’t like things being unorganised. I also have in me this fiery Balkan temper, but I think I’m balanced.

It is not important to me that clothes are branded. I think that is stupid. For example, Chanel is something I can’t afford, but I also don’t need it. I also don’t like wearing something cheap, some rags. I like shopping in Promod, Peek & Cloppenburg, Vero Moda, Mango. Some of these shops aren’t available in Belgrade, I’ve noticed. Promod is a French fashion house.

I like ZARA, but some of their clothes don’t fit me, since they seem to have different cuts.

Well I have lost a lot of weight, but earlier, when I weighed 10 kilos more, I could never buy clothes there. There are also shops Xanaka and H&M. I can always find something there. I like more extravagant clothes. I don’t like wearing uniformed stuff. For example, there are Esprit and Mexx, which are relatively expensive in relation to what they’re offering, but that kind of fashion is boring. Nothing is different there. I always wanted to be different than the rest. You can find Promod shops on the Mariahilfer Straße, in SCS and Donauzentrum. I like wearing skirts. Since I work at a law firm, we have a dress code which also applies to secretaries, but my boss is not that strict. I mostly wear black trousers, high heels and a blouse

or shirt. Fridays we can wear jeans, since it’s what we call “casual Friday”. I like wearing skirts to the knees or ankles, no mini skirts.

In summer I like wearing something light. I have a lot of colourful skirts from Promod. I also like wearing jeans. They’re comfortable. Tight ones are fashionable now and I’m wearing those today. I also like to show a bit of cleavage, like today, but not too much, because I don’t want to look cheap. I don’t think I’m a fashion icon, but I think I have my own style. I like wearing T-shirts like this one, made of natural material. I don’t like polyester, because you sweat and then it smells.

When dressing for a festive occasion I like to look good for myself. I like being elegant. The last festivity I went to I wore a beige sleeveless knee long dress. I wore beige pointy shoes, very elegant. I wore a bright pashmina shawl in green, so as to add a little extra colour and had a cocktail bag. I didn’t wear make-up for a long time. I was a student and still didn’t wear make-up. I didn’t care too much for it. But lately, I like wearing make up. When I go to work, when it’s not too warm outside, I like wearing some light make-up. I like brown and cream colours. I don’t like bright colours, I don’t even own red lipstick. I have changed my hairstyle very often. Recently I had this problem in my life. My hair was long at the time. I went to the hairdresser and said: Cut! I somehow have this need to change my hair style in certain situations in my life.

These glasses are from Fielmann and they were not very expensive. Yes, they’re Gucci, but they were not expensive all the same. Two or three years ago I pierced my nose. My ears are pierced, but I’m not wearing any earrings at the moment. I liked the idea of piercing my nose for a while, and only my nose, so I finally did it. I wouldn’t pierce anywhere else, like above my eye or my tongue. A nose piercing is enough.

What should I say, I think that young people here dress very differently. You have the sloppy dressers, with the trousers down to the middle of the bottom. Then there are those wearing all black clothes and make up, which we used to call “darkers” (“darkeri”) in ExYugoslavia, now they’re called Goths. Then there are those wearing all clothes with polka dots, don’t know what they’re called. Youngsters dress differently, according to the group they belong to. I spoke to some people working in ZARA and was told that Austria is being supplied with much more conservative fashion than Italy or Spain.

The older people are more conservative. I think that in Serbia people are more concerned with looking nice, women like looking nice . In Serbia women even sow for themselves. My mother always used to sow something for me or my sister out of the BURDA magazines. I was used to having clothes that fit perfectly, because it was always made to measure by my mom. Over here it’s mostly mass-produced, while women in Serbia try making their own clothes more, to be different.

I like reading and my literary tastes are eclectic. Since I studied a very heavy and melancholy literature - German literature is pretty heavy – after finishing my studies I started reading more crime novels, light stuff. I like reading Agatha Christie, Jonathan Kellerman and Faye Kellerman. Lately I have rediscovered Austrian literature. My thesis was written about Joseph Roth. He is in my opinion one of the best German language writers and he is one of the most renowned Austrian writers. I am reading his novels at the moment. Each of his characters carries in himself a certain tragedy. They let life lead them, they give in.

In one of these novels, this girl just gave herself to this man, because she couldn’t do otherwise. Naturally, this sort of behaviour was morally and socially unacceptable back then.

I like watching science fiction, comedies, suspense, crime (Star Trek - The Next Generation for example is one of my favourites). I love “Only Fools and Horses” and “Blackadder” I can watch dramas, but sometimes they make me sad and I cry. I like rock, pop, Latin and classical music. I love Gloria Estefan. Her music always brings me up.

I like wearing perfume, but I don’t only wear one perfume. I don’t like sweet smelling perfume. I love Joop “Muse” and Kenzo.

Ich heiße Daniela Portmann-Bogosavac. Ich bin 37 Jahre alt und lebe in Wien seit 1999.

Davor lebte ich in Belgrad, wo ich geboren wurde. Ich kam nach Wien, um mein in Belgrad angefangenes Deutschstudium zu beenden, was ich auch im Jahr 2002 getan habe. Auch wenn es nicht geplant war, bin ich durch Zufall in Wien geblieben. Ich habe geplant zurückzukehren. Ich blieb hier und fand eine Stelle als Sekretärin in einer großen Anwaltskanzlei.

Eine Stelle in meinem Fach zu finden war schwer, so dass ich eine Stelle angetreten bin, die mir in Ordnung schien und das war etwas, was ich bereits als Studentin getan habe.

Ich arbeite in dieser Firma schon sechs Jahre lang und fühle mich gut dort. Ich kann sogar manchmal etwas übersetzen (Deutsch, Englisch, Serbisch), weil wir Kontakte mit Serbien haben.

Meine Arbeit erfüllt mich. Es ist zwar nicht eine Stelle, die besondere intellektuelle Anstrengung verlangt oder viel zum Nachdenken zwingt, aber beinhaltet einige kreative Elemente und ist nicht so ganz einfach. Ich arbeite auch viel eigenständig. Ich schreibe auch eigenständig Briefe für meinen Chef, ich führe seine Korrespondenz, organisiere einfach sein Geschäftsleben und ich bin zufrieden. Ich wollte schon immer Übersetzerin sein und da ich es auch manchmal in meinem Job tun kann, finde ich auch da Erfüllung.

Nach Österreich bin ich durch österreichische Bekannte gekommen, die ich in Belgrad gekannt habe. Ich war bei ihnen als Au-Pair Mädchen. Ich habe keine Familie in Wien und das vermisse ich, weil mir die Familie wichtig ist. Meine ganze Familie ist in Serbien oder Bosnien. Einige Verwandte leben in Deutschland, aber ich fand Freunde hier, auch Österreicher. Ich finde, dass ich ein erfülltes Leben führe. Ich bin glücklich hier, weil mir das Leben in Österreich entspricht. Ich mag in meine Heimat, Serbien, reisen, aber die dortige Situ-

ation ist gar nicht stabil. Irgendwie funktioniert nichts richtig, mindestens die Dinge, die mir wichtig sind, auch nicht das politische System. Ich sage nicht, dass es hier ideal ist, aber irgendwie ist der Mensch hier an erster Stelle. Man kümmert sich hier um die Bürger und ich fühle mich hier als Ausländerin willkommen. Natürlich gibt es Leute, die gegenüber Ausländern intolerant sind, aber wenn du dich im Einklang mit dem Gesetz verhältst, wenn du dich integrierst, wenn du anständig bist, niemand belästigt dich und das ist fein für mich.

Ich lebe hier schon seit 10 Jahren und ich bin zufrieden. Das Gesundheitssystem ist gut.

Es gibt immer viele Menschen überall. Es passiert immer etwas. Es gibt viele Theatervorstellungen, Konzerte. Auch Theaterhäuser aus Ex-Jugoslawien kommen hierher. Ich treffe Freunde und das erfüllt mich.

Meine österreichischen Freunde empfinde ich nicht als kalt. Ich weiß, dass „unsere” Leute gerne sagen, dass Österreicher kalt sind. Ehrlich gesagt, habe ich das nicht gemerkt.

Als meine Mama vor 3 Jahren gestorben ist, waren meine österreichischen und Schweizer Freunde genauso da für mich, wie meine serbischen oder kroatischen Freunde, also Leute aus „unseren Gegenden”. Ich sehe sie also nicht als kalt. Sie sind am Anfang vielleicht etwas distanziert, aber wenn du sie besser kennen lernst, siehst du, dass sie genauso sind wie du.

Mir entspricht die Lebensweise hier, diese Genauigkeit und Pünktlichkeit. Gewisse Regeln müssen befolgt werden. Ich mag keine Ausweichmanöver. Wobei ich auch ziemlich temperamentvoll bin, habe dieses Balkanische in mir, aber ich denke, dass es gut ausbalanciert ist.

Es ist für mich nicht wichtig, dass die Kleider eine Marke haben. Das ist für mich dumm. Z.B. Chanel ist etwas, was ich mir nicht leisten kann, aber ich brauche es nicht. Ich mag aber auch keine Fetzen tragen, etwas Billiges. Am liebsten mag ich Promod, Peek & Cloppenburg, Vero Moda, Mango. Einige dieser Geschäfte gibt es in Belgrad nicht, habe ich schon gemerkt. Promod ist eine französische Marke. Ich mag auch ZARA, aber dort finde ich seltener etwas, vor allem früher als ich noch 10 kg mehr wog, weil Kleider bei ZARA irgendwie kleiner geschnitten sind. Manchmal kaufe ich bei Xanaka oder H&M ein. Dort finde ich auch etwas für mich. Ich mag nicht uniformiert sein. Z.B. gibt es hier Esprit und Mexx Geschäfte, die relativ teuer sind im Vergleich dazu, was sie anbieten. Die Kleider in diesen Geschäften sind sehr langweilig, es gibt nichts was ein bisschen anders ist. Ich wollte immer anders sein, als der Durchschnitt. Promod Geschäfte gibt es in der Mariahilfer Straße, im SCS und im Donauzentrum. Ich mag Röcke. Ich arbeite wie gesagt in einer Anwaltskanzlei, wo es einen Dresscode gibt. Dieser gilt auch für Sekretärinnen, aber mein Chef ist nicht so streng.

Meistens trage ich schwarze Hosen, Stöckelschuhe, eine Bluse, einen Oberteil. Freitag ist der sog. „casual Friday”, wenn wir auch Jeans tragen können. Ich mag Röcke bis zum Knie oder zum Knöchel, keine zu kurzen Röcke.

Im Sommer trage ich gerne etwas Leichtes. Ich habe viele bunte Röcke aus Promod. Ich mag auch Jeans tragen. Sie sind bequem. Derzeit sind etwas engere Jeans modisch und

ich trage sie heute. Ich mag auch Décolleté zeigen, wie z.B. heute, aber nicht zu viel. Ich mag nicht billig wirken. Ich bin keine Modeikone, aber ich denke, dass ich meinen eigenen Stil habe. Ich mag Blusen/Oberteile aus natürlichen Stoffen tragen. Ich mag keine Polyester Stoffe, da man darin schwitzt und das riecht schlecht.

Wenn ich mich für einen Fest kleide, mag ich mir selber gefallen. Vor allem will ich elegant sein. Beim letzten Fest trug ich ein beiges, knielanges Kleid ohne Ärmel. An den Füßen trug ich ellegante, spitze, beige Schuhe. Um die Schultern trug ich einen breiten grünen Paschmina Schal, so dass es dem ganzen Outfit etwas Farbe verleiht. Ich hatte auch eine kleine beige Cocktailtasche. Lange Zeit habe ich mich nicht geschminkt. Ich habe schon studiert und schminkte mich nicht. Irgendwie hat mich das nicht so interessiert. Letztlich aber schminke ich mich gerne wenn ich zur Arbeit gehe und wenn es draußen nicht zu heiß ist. Ich schminke mich dezent. Ich mag braun oder beige Farben, keinesfalls starke Farben. Ich besitze sogar keinen roten Lippenstift. In meinem Leben habe ich bisher ganz viele Frisuren ausprobiert.

Kürzlich hatte ich einige privaten Probleme. Meine Haare waren zur Zeit schulterlang und stufig geschnitten. Ich ging zur Friseurin und sagte: „Schneide!”. Irgendwie habe ich das Bedürfnis, meine Frisur in einschneidenden Lebenssituationen zu verändern.

Diese Brille wurde bei „Fielmann” gekauft und sie kostete nicht sehr viel. Ja, es ist eine Gucci Brille, aber sie war nicht so teuer. Seit zwei oder drei Jahren habe ich dieses Piercing in meiner Nase. Ich trage keine Ohrringe im Moment. Ein Nasenpiercing wollte ich mir schon lange zulegen. Sonst würde ich mich nirgendwo piercen lassen, z.B. oberhalb des Auges oder auf der Zunge. Das Nasenpiercing genügt mir.

Was soll ich sagen. Ich denke, dass sich die Jugendlichen hier in Österreich verschiedenartig kleiden. Auf der Straße kannst du die Schlampigen sehen, deren Hosen bis zur Hälfte des Hinterns rutschen. Dann gibt es diejenigen, die sich ganz schwarz schminken und kleiden. Früher hießen sie bei uns „darkeri”, heutzutage nennt man sie hier „Goths”. Dann hast du diese, deren Kleidung total gepunktet ist. Weiß nicht, wie diese heißen. Die jungen Menschen kleiden sich eben verschiedenartig, je nach dem zu welcher Gruppe sie gehören. Ich sprach mit Leuten, die bei ZARA arbeiten und mir wurde gesagt, dass die Geschäfte in Österreich ganz andere, konservativere Mode geliefert bekommen, als dieselben Geschäfte in Italien oder Spanien.

Die etwas älteren Generationen sind etwas konservativer. Ich denke, dass die Frauen in Serbien sehr darauf acht geben, schön auszusehen. Jede Frau möchte an erster Stelle gefallen.

In Serbien nähen die Frauen oder lassen sich die Kleidung nähen. Meine Mama hat für mich und meine Schwester Vieles aus der Modezeitschrift „Burda” genäht. Ich bin es mir gewohnt, dass mir alle Kleider passen, weil sie maßgeschneidert waren. Hier trägt man meistens Konfektionsware, während die Frauen in Serbien mehrheitlich selber was machen.

Ich lese sehr gerne und mein Lesegeschmack ist sehr bunt. Da ich eine eher schwere und

melancholische Literatur studiert habe, deutsche Literatur ist ziemlich schwer, begann ich nach meinem Studium eher leichtere Kost zu lesen, z.B. Krimis. Ich mag Agatha Christie, Jonathan Kellerman und Faye Kellerman. In letzter Zeit habe ich wieder zur österreichischen Literatur gefunden. Ich schrieb meine Diplomarbeit über Joseph Roth. Meiner Meinung nach ist er einer der besten deutschsprachigen Schriftsteller. Gerade jetzt lese ich seine Erzählungen. Jeder seiner Helden trägt in sich eine gewisse Tragik. Sie lassen sich vom Leben treiben, sie geben sozusagen auf. In einem der Erzählungen ließ sich das eine Mädchen von einem Mann verführen, weil sie anders nicht konnte, was in der Zeit natürlich moralisch und gesellschaftlich nicht akzeptiert war.

Ich schaue gerne SF-Filme und Serien, Komödien, Thriller, Krimis. Meine Lieblingsserien sind „Star Trek - The Next Generation” oder „Only Fools and Horses” und „The Blackadder”.

Dramen schaue ich mir auch an, aber manchmal machen sie mich traurig und ich weine.

DJENANA HADŽIĆ

Ja sam Djenana Hadžić. Rođena 2. novembra u Mostaru 1982. godine. Živim od 1992. godine u Beču u Austriji. Trenutno radim kao pedagoški, pedagoškosocijalni radnik u Wiener Jugendzentrum, omladinskom centru. Studiram, završavam pedagogiju. Bavim se plesom već unazad sedam godina, vjerojatno aktivno. Plešem u kompaniji Harizma bend. Uglavnom, počela sam sa 14 godina sa hip hop tako da, čisto sa rajom, ni sa kakvim daljim planovima i ambicijama i tako, splet okolnosti i želja za tim me dovela do bavljenja plesom profesionalno.

Gdje kupujem odjeću, jel? Volim na putovanjima kupovat odjeću.

Kad odem u neki drugi grad volim obavezno otić u šoping da nešto imam. Volim na buvljacima kupovat, volim kombinovat, volim u H&M-u kupovat stvari, većinom su vjerojatno iz H&M-a. Moraju isto bit neke snošljive sume, ne dajem puno para na garderobu. Budžet koji ja sad trošim na garderobu je skroz isključen.

Neredovno idem u kupovinu, većinom spontano. Ima par radnji u koje većinom svratim, H&M, Vero Moda. To su prodavnice koje su većinom u trendu, ali mogu iskombinovat i sa mojim stilom. Mora biti uglavnom da se ugodno osjećam u svojim stvarima. Variraju boje. Najviše volim džins, majice, ljeti obično haljinice neke, sandalice. Ne znam kako bih definisala svoj stil, urbano, sa vintage stvarima.

Mama mi je bila totalno i još uvjek je totalno zaljubljena u modu. Volim njene stvari iskombinirat s nekom mojom.

Moja svečana zadnja prilika je bilo djevojačko veče, jel se i to broji u svečanost? Imala sam, znači, od glave do pete da počnem, znači, našminkana sam bila, to isto nije svaki dan, to je izuzetak, cimerica me našminkala. Imala sam neki crni kao prozirni bodi, pink majicu svilenu na bratelice neke tanke, preko toga crna kožna jakna, crne uske farmerice i crvene sandale. Što sam upadala kod Kineza nikad ništa nisam uzela, ništa mi se to ne sviđa. Vjeruj mi da nikad ništa nisam uzela kod Kineza.

Pošto je Beč metropolski grad tako da ima puno influences, uticaja na odjevanje ljudi, na modu, tako da imaš puno više opcija gdje ćeš se obuć, gdje ćeš kupit svoju garderobu, gdje ćeš naći svoju inspiraciju. U Mostaru rijetki furaju svoj stil koji se formira pod uticajem sredine, htjeli to ili ne.Većinom su tamo nekako, neka ista furka. Ako je nešto u modi onda to svi furaju. Što je u modi, to se mora nosit, tako imam utisak da je u Mostaru, nema puno nekog eksperimentisanja sa stilom. Bila sam na par sati u Sarajevu. Al uglavnom, što se tiče stila, da je prilagođen, da se ne ističe previše. Niko nije drugačije obučen, niko neće da provocira, jel odmah se to tumači, mora bit nešto iza toga, zašto hoćeš tako da izgledaš, da se ističeš. To je odmah nekako pravo kritično gledano. Rijetki to uzimaju kao dio tebe, odma je ono, vidi nje vidi njega. Procjenjuje se čovjek po izgledu po svaku cijenu.

Sve boje volim, ne znam nijednu boju da ne volim. To ti ne znam odgovorit. Uglavnom volim jednobojne stvari. Ne volim nešto puno šareno na sebi, ako je šareno, onda sve mora bit šareno i različitih dezena. Volim crvenu, crnu, zelenu, plavu, ljubičastu, tako.

Nakit volim. Prsten koji sam dobila od brata i narukvicu, Tiffany, koju sam dobila od brata.

Brat je trenutno u Beču, ali je živio dugo u Americi i tamo je običaj kad maturiraš, dobiješ od Tiffany-a neki nakit.

Hermes (Hermès), „Mediteranski vrt” se zove parfem koji imam na sebi, a najdraži mi je od Isaji Mijakea (Issey Miyake), „A Drop from a Cloud”. Brat me snabdjeva parfemima.

Viktoria Bekam (Victoria Beckham), to sigurno ne, tu glupaču sam zapamtila. Ona je non stop u prvom gro planu, a ona je totlno iskomleksirana, jedna jadnica, užas, užas, nju nikako. Izdvajam Odri Hepbern (Audrey Hepburn), ona ima prepoznatljiv stil. Volim onu glumicu koja pjeva, Džulijet (Juliette), u „The Licks”, kad je vidim, nekako, mogu se asocirat.

Trenutno nemam TV. Do prije par mjeseci još sam i pratila dokumentarce, naravno, ništa drugo, Discovery, ništa drugo. Volim Emira Kusturicu kao režisera, njegove filmove, u njegov život neću zalazit. Od Emira Kusturice „Dom za vješanje” je film koji je, ono, ko dijete sam ga gledala, nisam bila starija od osam, devet godina, ostavio utisak. Ne volim holivudske filmove, što u kinima daju, to ja manje više ne gledam. Trenutno puno slušam Cat Power i Beirut, momci iz SAD koji sviraju u klapi od deset ljudi i nešto su između folka. Njih pravo volim trenutno, uz njih ležem i budim se, a inače od muzike, volim sve od džeza, bluza, fanka, soula, R&B, volim muziku. Viva Sexico čitam, prethodno sam čitala „Hiljadu zmajeva”, trenutno je on na redu. Trenutno se trudim da čitam više na našem jeziku jer mi fali riječi u izražavanju. Da pozdravimo Almira, on je moj momak iz Bosne i Hercegovine, iz Sarajeva, rođen 8.8. 1978. Almir mi je poklonio sandale. Sandale se zovu „Liebe”, ljubav. I kolače mi je donio.

Većina se identificira kroz svoju odjeću. Mislim na mlade, ako slušaju neku određenu muziku, uz tu muziku dolazi neki određeni imidž, prema tome, tako im je lakše da se glupiraju. U tom dobu bitan je taj imidž i iza toga stoje i bitno je to kako izgledaju i to je pravo važno. Ima tih različitih, od Amos-a, ne znam jel to do vas došlo, to je nešto između skejtera i darkera, neka kombinacija, pa imaš, one djevojčice koje imaju 12 godina, a već imaju kilu šminke, iz solarijuma, već su narandžaste. Ja sam pravo dugo vremena bila, sve je bilo veliko na meni, ne znam jel’ sam skrivala ili nisam svoj identitet, široke pantale, košulje. Moja generacija, šta ja znam, ko ima vremena za to još uvjek to fura, onaj, ko ima smisla za to, kome je to važno. Moda je odraz socijalnog staleža, moda je odraz osjećanja, moda je odraz životnog stila, al sad previše tome pridavat značaja il’ samo isključivo po tome nekoga ocjenjivati, mislim da je to površno. Almir voli farmerice, žuto mu predivno stoji. Volim kič, al’ i to da se napravi u dobrom stilu, da i to dobro izgleda.

My name is Djenana Hadžić. I was born on 2 November 1982 in Mostar. I have been living in Vienna since 1992. I am currently working as a pedagogical, educational social worker in Wiener Jugend Zentrum, a youth centre. I am studying Pedagogic sciences. Over the last seven years I have started dancing actively. I dance in the Harizma band. I started at the age of 14 with hip-hop and so through a mix of circumstances and a great affinity I started dancing professionally.

Where do I buy my clothes, right? I like buying clothes when I’m travelling. When I’m in another city I love to go shopping so I have something from there. I love buying clothes at flea markets. I like to combine stuff, I like buying clothes at H&M. My stuff is probably mostly from H&M. The clothes also must be affordable because I do not spend a lot of money on my clothes. My budget for buying clothes is very small.

I shop irregularly and most of the time it’s a spontaneous decision. There are a few shops I mostly visit, like H&M and Vero Moda. These shops are mostly trendy, but I can also combine that with my own style. I need to feel comfortable in my clothes. The colours vary. I like jeans, tops, dresses and sandals in the summer. I don’t know how to define my style – urban with vintage stuff.

My mum has always been and is still totally in love with fashion. I love to combine her clothes with some of mine.

The last special occasion I attended was a hen night. Does that count as a special occasion? I wore make-up, which doesn’t happen every day. This was an exception and my roommate did my make-up. I wore this black, almost transparent body, a pink coloured silk tank-top, black leather jacket, black tight jeans and red sandals.

The times I went to Chinese shops I never bought anything. I don’t like their stuff. Believe me, I have never bought something in a Chinese shop.

Since Vienna is a big city, there are a lot of influences on the clothes people wear, on fashion, so you have many options where to buy your clothes, where to find your inspiration.

There are not many people in Mostar who have their own style. The style is influenced by people around you, whether you like it or not. Mostly people wear the same clothes somehow. If something is fashionable then everybody wears it. What is fashionable, that must be worn, so my impression is, there is no experimenting with style there. I went to Sarajevo for a few hours. There you must also be adjusted, nobody should stick out. Nobody is dressed differently, nobody wants to provoke, because it is immediately interpreted as if there is something behind it, why do you need to look like that, to stand out. That kind of thing is immediately criticized. Just a small number of people take it as a part of yourself, mostly it’s like, look at her, look at him. A person is judged by his/her appearance.

I like all colours, there is no colour I don’t like. I can’t answer you that question. Mostly I like wearing plain-coloured clothes. I don’t like wearing colourful clothes, but when it’s colourful, than everything has to be colourful and with different patterns. I like red, black, green, blue, purple.

I like jewellery. I have this Tiffany’s ring and bracelet, which were given to me by my brother.

My brother is currently in Vienna, but he lived in the US for a long time and it is customary over there to be given some piece of jewellery from Tiffany’s after graduation from high school.

The perfume I’m wearing right now is Hermès “Un Jardin Sur Le Nil” and my favourite is Issey Miyake’s “A Drop from a Cloud”. My brother buys me perfumes.

Victoria Beckham, no surely not, I have remembered this stupid woman. She is present all the time, and she is completely full of complexes, a pathetic person, terrible, terrible. No, I wouldn’t name her. I would say Audrey Hepburn is a person with a recognizable style. I like this singing actress, Juliette in “The Licks”. When I see her, I can identify myself.

I don’t have a TV set at the moment, but up until a couple of months ago I was still watching documentaries and of course, nothing else, Discovery, nothing else. I like Emir Kusturica as a director, his films, but won’t get into his life. “Dom za vešanje” is one of his films that I saw as a child, when I was no older than 8 or 9 and it made quite an impression on me. I don’t like Hollywood films which you can see at the cinema. I mostly don’t watch that stuff.

At the moment I mostly listen to Cat Power and Beirut, guys from the States which play in a band of 10 and make some kind of folk music. I really love them at the moment. I listen to them when I go to sleep and wake up to their music. Otherwise I like everything from jazz, to blues, funk, soul, R&B – I love music. I read Viva Sexico, prior to that I read ″Hiljadu zmajeva″, but now it’s this. I try reading in our language at the moment, since I often can’t find words when I speak. I would like to greet Almir, my boyfriend from Bosnia and Herzegovina, from Sarajevo, born 08 August 1978. Almir gave me sandals as a present. The sandals are called Liebe (love). He also brought me cake.

Most people, and I mean youngsters, identify themselves through their clothes. If they listen to a certain kind of music, and with that kind of music comes a certain image and they can be silly all they want. At that age, image is very important and that’s what they stand for. It is important how you look. There are all kinds of styles. There are Emos, I don’t know if they are present in Serbia, they are a kind of mix between skaters and goths, then you have these girls, barely 12, who already wear a kilo of make-up on their faces, all orange from going to the solarium all the time. I went through a phase for a long time when everything I wore was big. I don’t know if was or wasn’t trying to hide something, like my identity, and I wore baggy trousers and shirts. People my age, I don’t know, some still have time for that and still follow that line, who have sense for that and who think it’s important. The fashion

is the image of the social standing, the image of your feelings, of your lifestyle. But paying too much attention to it or judging people only according to the image is superficial. Almir likes jeans, yellow suits him well. I like kitsch, but only if it’s made properly, so it looks good.

Ich heiße Djenana Hadžić. Ich bin am 02.11.1982 in Mostar geboren. Ich lebe seit 1992 in Wien, Österreich. Zur Zeit arbeite ich als pädagogische, pädagogisch-soziologische Mitarbeiterin im Wiener Jugendzentrum, einem Zentrum für die Jugendlichen. Ich studiere Pädagogik. Seit sieben Jahren beschäftige ich mich aktiv mit dem Tanz. Ich tanze im Harizma band. Wo kaufe ich meine Kleider, stimmt’s? Ich mag auf Reisen Kleider einkaufen.

Immer wenn ich in einer anderen Stadt bin, mag ich unbedingt einkaufen gehen, so dass ich was habe. Ich mag auf Flohmärkten kaufen, ich mag kombinieren und im H&M einkaufen. Meine Kleider sind wahrscheinlich meistens aus H&M. Es müssen auch ertragbare Summen sein. Ich mag nicht sehr viel für Kleider ausgeben. Das Budget, das ich jetzt für Kleider ausgebe ist ziemlich eingeschränkt.

Ich gehe in unregelmäßigen Abständen einkaufen, meistens ist es eine spontane Entscheidung. Ich gehe meistens in ein paar Kleidergeschäfte hinein. Das sind H&M und Vero Moda. Das sind die Geschäfte, die meistens im Trend liegen und ich kann es mit meinem Stil kombinieren. Ich muss mich auf jeden Fall in meinen Sachen wohl fühlen. Die Farben variieren. Am liebsten trage ich Jeans, Shirts, im Sommer meistens Kleidchen, Sandalen.

Ich weiß nicht, wie ich meinen Stil definieren würde – urban, mit Vintage Sachen.

Meine Mama war schon immer und ist immer noch in Mode verknallt. Ich mag ihre Kleider mit meinen Sachen kombinieren.

Mein letzter festlicher Anlass war der Polterabend. Zählt das auch zu Festen? Ich trug, beginnend von Kopf bis Fuß: ich war geschminkt, was nicht jeden Tag passiert. Das ist eher die Ausnahme. Meine Mitbewohnerin hat mich geschminkt. Ich hatte einen schwarzen, fast durchsichtigen Body, ein seidenes pinkfarbenes Top mit Spaghettiträgern, drüber eine schwarze Lederjacke, schwarze enge Jeans und rote Sandalen.

Manchmal bin ich in die chinesischen Läden reingegangen, habe aber nichts gekauft, da mir nichts dort gefällt. Glaube mir, ich habe nie etwas bei den Chinesen gekauft.

Da Wien eine Metropole ist, hat es viele Einflüsse auf den Kleidungsstil der Menschen, auf die Mode, so dass du mehr Optionen hast, wo du dich einkleiden kannst, wo du deine Kleidungsstücke kaufen kannst, wo du deine Inspiration findest. Leute, die ihren eigenen

Stil haben, sind in Mostar sehr selten, da sich alle an die Einflüsse aus der Umgebung anpassen, weder sie es wollen oder nicht. Es ist meistens dasselbe, was alle tragen. Wenn etwas modisch ist, das tragen alle. Was modisch ist, das muss man tragen. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass man in Mostar nicht allzuviel experimentiert. Ich war in Sarajevo für ein paar Stunden. Was den Stil betrifft, wichtig ist, dass man angepasst ist, dass man sich nicht allzuviel exponiert. Niemand ist anders gekleidet, niemand möchte provozieren, weil man es sonst so deutet, dass etwas dahinter stecken müsste, wieso du genauso aussehen möchtest, wieso du dich exponieren willst. Das wird gleich sehr kritisch beurteilt. Selten sind die Leute, die es als ein Teil von dir akzeptieren. Sofort gilt es, schau sie an, schau ihn an. Man wird nach dem Aussehen beurteilt.

Ich mag alle Farben, es gibt keine Farbe, die ich nicht mag. Ich kann dir diese Frage nicht beantworten. Meistens mag ich einfärbige Kleider. Ich mag nicht allzu viel Buntes an mir tragen. Wenn es bunt ist, dann muss alles bunt sein und verschiedene Muster haben. Ich mag rot, schwarz, grün, blau, lila.

Ich mag Schmuck. Einen Ring und ein Armband von Tiffany’s habe ich von meinem Bruder bekommen. Mein Bruder ist derzeit in Wien, lebte aber lange in Amerika. Dort ist es üblich, dass man nach der Matura ein Schmuckstück von Tiffany’s geschenkt bekommt. „Un Jardin Sur Le Nil” von Hermès heißt das Parfüm, das ich jetzt trage. Mein Lieblingsparfum ist von Issey Miyake, „A Drop From A Cloud”. Mein Bruder kauft meine Parfüms.

Ich mag Victoria Beckham überhaupt nicht, sicherlich nicht. Dieses Dümmerchen habe ich mir gemerkt. Sie ist ununterbrochen im Blickfeld. Sie ist eine totalle Komplexlerin, eine armselige Frau, schrecklich, schrecklich, sie auf keinen Fall. Ich würde Audrey Hepburn hervorheben. Ihr Stil ist erkennbar. Ich mag die singende Schauspielerin, Juliette in „The Licks”. Wenn ich sie sehe, kann ich mich assoziieren.

Das sind Burschen aus den USA, die in einer Gruppe mit 10 Leuten speilen und machen so etwas wie Folksmusik. Diese höre ich mir derzeit am liebsten an. Mit dieser Musik gehe ich schlafen und werde in der Früh geweckt. Ansonsten mag ich alles von Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, R&B – ich mag Musik einfach. „Viva Sexico” lese ich derzeit. Davor habe ich „Hiljadu zmajeva” gelesen. Derzeit bemühe ich mich mehr in unserer Sprache zu lesen, da mir oft die einzelnen Wörter fehlen. Ich möchte Almir grüßen. Almir ist mein Freund aus Bosnien und Herzegowina,

aus Sarajevo, geboren am 08.08.1978, der mir Sandalen geschenkt hat. Die Sandalen heißen Liebe. Und Kuchen hat er mir gebracht.

Die meisten identifizieren sich durch die Kleider, die sie tragen. Ich denke dabei an die Jugendlichen, die je nach Musikrichtung, die sie hören, auch das dazugehörige Image annehmen. So fällt es ihnen leichter, Blödsinn zu treiben. In diesem Alter ist das Image sehr wichtig. Dahinter stehen sie und es ist wichtig wie sie aussehen. Das ist sehr wichtig. Es gibt verschiedene Stils, wie z.B. Emos. Ich weiß nicht, ob sie schon bei euch in Serbien aktuell sind. Das ist so was zwischen Skater und Goths, eine Kombination. Dann hast du Mädels, die kaum 12 Jahre alt sind und schon kiloweise Schminke tragen, und vom Solarium schon orangefarben sind.

Ich habe sehr lange nur sehr weite Kleider getragen. Alles an mir war weit und groß als ob ich durch diese breite Hosen und Hemden etwas zu verbergen hätte oder keine Identität gehabt hätte. Meine Generation, was weiß ich, wer Zeit und Sinn dafür hat, wem es wichtig ist, die tragen es. Die Mode ist ein Abbild der Position in der Gesellschaft, die Mode ist ein Ausdruck der Gefühle, des Lebensstils, aber viel Bedeutung sollte man ihr nicht geben.

Leute ausschließlich nach Mode zu beurteilen, ist oberflächlich. Almir mag Jeans. Gelb steht ihm gut. Ich mag Kitsch, aber wenn es gut gemacht ist, so dass es gut ausschaut.

DRAGAN NIKOLIĆ

Ja sam Dragan Nikolić. Rođen sam 01.12.1990. u Petrovcu na Mlavi. Pre godinu dana sam došao za Beč. Obožavam motore i samo motore. Oblačenje mi je isto kao i kod Šomija pa ti malo iskombinuj. Omiljeni detalj mi je kajla. Najviše slušam Hip-Hop, Tehno, Rok, a mogu da prođu i narodnjaci, onako za dušu. Omiljeni bendovi: Bad Copy, Bijelo dugme, omiljeni muzičar mi je Wikluh Sky. Najdraži film „Ong Bak”. Što se tice oblačenja dole i u Austriji, smatram da se naši ljudi bolje oblače, a za duplo manje para. To bi bilo to.

GORAN NOVAKOVIĆ

My name is Goran Novaković and also Goxilla, because it is the artistic name of my virtual avatar. I came to Vienna in 1991 for mental-health reasons. I didn’t want to live under Sloba (Slobodan Milošević) and also wanted to get away from my mother at the age of 29, so I’m an old immigrant. I was lucky in that I spoke German very well and was working as a translator and also at the National library, where they had a German language department. So I have been living here for 18 years now and if I had procreated on time, that child would have been of age now. But I have two daughters (11 and 8 yrs old) and a partner, who is also from Belgrade, but she has an American passport. I work in the integration section of the City of Vienna, which means I work with foreigners, integration matters, language courses, translations and so on. I am completely dedicated to writing and socialising with people. I go out a lot, hang out.

I buy clothes wherever I can. Mostly, if I go shopping at all, I buy them abroad, when I’m somewhere abroad. I don’t do this to save money, but because it’s interesting to bring something over from abroad, just like this completely worn out shirt, with holes in it, but I don’t care and I even wear it to Town Hall. I bought it 1997 in New York and I love it so much, that I’ll be wearing it until I dissolve along with it. Here in Vienna I mostly buy cheaper stuff, even though I know good stuff, but unfortunately I can’t afford it. So I shop in shopping centres or malls, whatever I get my hands on. If I had money, I’d shop in better, expensive stores, can’t think of which one to name just now, but that would be shops ordinary people wouldn’t know about. I love good materials, I like wearing stuff that is soothing to wear, but I don’t have the money for that.

There is no dress code at the Town Hall, thank God and I’m working in the department which is pretty much informal in everything, since we’re dealing with foreigners. If I worked in bookkeeping for instance, they wouldn’t be thrilled to see me wearing these rags.

Last time I went to the Serbian embassy on the occasion of a farewell party for some guy working there, I dressed awfully. I was wearing this worn out, synthetic, thick shirt and everybody was looking at me as if I weren’t normal, but clothing is totally unimportant for me on this superficial level. I do pay attention to my styling when going to appointments, parties. That is more important to me than everyday life. I wear something very conspicuous, but conspicuous for those people there, the way they would like to see me. So I go to this party and I’m wearing this shirt with flowers on it, a lot of flowers, one that no one in his right mind would wear, but people are already used to me wearing this flowery shirt, they know it for certain and expect it of me somehow. For the last party I wore black though, because I didn’t want to be noticed and I wanted to look slimmer, because I still want to look as if I don’t have a big belly and love handles.

Concerning the Serbs here, even though you can’t generalize, I can say we have these older so called “Gastarbeiter” women (female guest workers) who dress according to their wallet size and according to their sense of what is tasteful and likeable. My origins are from

this proletariat part of Belgrade, so I’m familiar with this kind of fashion style – blouses and skirts, something that goes with the burnt permed hair, something that’s cheap, but still looks nice, quality of material completely unimportant, according to the dress code for funerals or weddings.

In my opinion the rich are generally the ones who dress well. Of course among the rich there are those who have no taste. I have in mind the finer rich folk, who are more discreet, decent and who know what good clothes are. For me personally, good clothes mean good form, line, colour and foremost, good material. My theory is, buy only expensive things.

If I had more money I would probably dress like some dandy, like Oscar Wilde of the 21st century. Only if I had more money, because I know what is really good.

I go to balls, but I never wore a suit for anything. I don’t go to the Opernball, I go to the ball of refugees, gays, of foreigners, any kind of minorities that is. My life consists of moving from on minority to the next, moving from bigger to smaller and then from the smaller to the bigger. Balls are cool, relaxed, nobody is checking out what other people are wearing, everybody is completely uninterested in what the other one is wearing. The ball is like a classic ball. It is no longer by invitation of the prince, but by some line of business. So the Viennese confectioners have their own ball, the chimney sweepers, butchers, policemen, everybody has their own ball. There are also balls of different organizations, society groups, like the ball of the lawyers, doctors, conservatives’ ball, conservative right wing ball, everything. There are, take or leave a few, some thirty to fifty balls. The season begins in January and ends in May. Very poor Austrians dress like poor people in every country. You can see kilometres away that they are poor. The others dress average, inconspicuous and they care much less about the brand than we do. Landhaus fashion is very favoured in Austria, that is the part of the national identity, that is probably the only thing they managed to save in this bunch of foreigners. That is a custom here for conservative higher circles and the rich to dress in this style for family festivities, or you see in a PR agency this good looking woman wearing an apron and a blouse with puffed sleeves, you can’t believe it. Or a doctor, with all these titles in front of his name, wearing short leather trousers and white knee socks, wearing a hat with this goat’s beard in the brim of the hat and that’s o.k. That is part of national pride, how to put it, the tradition, like when our folk, like when Velja Ilić would wear opanci ( Opanak (opoanci, plural) is a kind of leather shoe with straps and a bowed front) and breeches like they wore in the First World War. I don’t have to worry about how I look any more, since I went out with a fair share of women, have kids and am no longer available on the market, even though I go out and all that. In the classical Serbian style I let my belly grow big, why should I exert myself, let me eat.

My books are my favourite reading, so I don’t have time for others. For the time being I’m

reading the biography of Marlon Brando and I like it very much. He was like me, feasting all the time. I have a lot of favourite things. My favourite film would be hard to decide upon. I would have to say “Fanny and Alexander”. My favourite TV shows at the moment are “Little Britain”, “South Park”. I like music for chilling, music for sitting around and music that drives you. The parties can be really boring, but they can be good as well. Mostly the same people go to these parties. The people move around in their certain circles. I go to parties that are totally crazy, Disko Disko Partizani, Gypsy kind of parties, or I go to the really, really “underground” parties – to put it in quotation marks. A short time ago I went to this drama party with these two girls. The costumes, the scenery was very good, but all those naked bodies, this testosterone in the air was too much, so we split. I go to parties with lots of young people around, since I like to be on the pulse of time. Even though I’m well aware of the fact that spending too much time with people younger than yourself can leave traces, but until I start feeling ridiculous I’ll keep on doing it.

There is not the one life. Everybody leads a few secret, a few public ones and each of these lives has a style of its own. Whoever is leading a family life, has a family style. Whoever is into his job, has a business style. The styles are definitely parts of life. I don’t think that anybody has just one style, but a mixture of styles, so as not to be this stale, lousy outsider.

The only persistent style is the stale, lousy outsider. Everything else is change and adaptation, chameleon behaviour and following the trends. I wonder that people in the creative line of work are so uncreative in their styles. Everybody looks the same, at least here in Austria. The people definitely like to look alike if they belong to the same sect.

Mein Name ist Goran Novaković. Goxilla nennt man mich auch, weil das der künstlerische Name meines virtuellen Doppelgängers ist. Nach Wien bin ich im Jahr 1991 aus Gründen der mentalen Hygiene gekommen, da ich unter dem Regime von Sloba (Slobodan Milošević) nicht leben wollte. Ich wollte auch mit 29 weg von meiner Mutter. Ich bin also ein alter Immigrant. Ich hatte Glück, Deutsch perfekt zu sprechen und konnte mehr oder weniger als Übersetzer und in der Nationalbibliothek in der Abteilung für deutsche Sprache arbeiten. Ich bin hier also schon seit 18 Jahren und könnte eigentlich ein volljähriges Kind haben, hätte ich mich rechtzeitig vermehrt. Ich habe zwei kleine Töchter (11 und 8 Jahre alt) und eine Lebensgefährtin, die ebenfalls aus Belgrad stammt, ist aber Amerikanerin laut ihrem Pass. Ich arbeite in der Abteilung für Integration der Stadt Wien. Das bedeutet Arbeit mit Ausländern, Integration, Sprachkurse, Übersetzungen usw. Ich widme mich vollkommen dem Schreiben und Kontakten mit Menschen, gehe oft aus, bin in Bewegung.

Meine Kleider kaufe ich überall. Am meisten, wenn ich überhaupt Kleider einkaufe, ist das irgendwo im Ausland, wenn ich gerade im Ausland bin. Das tue ich nicht weil ich sparen will, sondern einfach weil es interessant ist, etwas aus dem Ausland mit nach Hause zu nehmen. Das Hemd das ich gerade trage ist z.B. schon vollkommen abgetragen, hat Löcher, aber das interessiert mich gar nicht, ich trage es immer noch, auch zur Arbeit im

Rathaus. Ich habe es 1997 in New York gekauft und liebe es dermaßen, dass ich es so lange tragen werde, bis ich mich zusammen mit dem Hemd auflöse. Hier in Wien kaufe ich vor allem dort wo es billiger ist. Ich weiß zwar, was gute Sachen sind, kann sie mir aber nicht leisten. Ich kaufe was mir in die Hände kommt in diesen Kaufhäusern oder Shopping Centren. Wenn ich mehr Geld hätte würde ich in besseren, teureren Geschäften einkaufen, jetzt fällt mir kein Geschäft in den Sinn, aber wahrscheinlich in solchen, die für das einfache Volk unbekannt sind. Ich mag gute Stoffe, ich mag Kleider, die mich streicheln, kann sie mir aber nicht leisten. Im Rathaus gibt es Gott sei Dank keine Kleiderordnung. Ich arbeite ehrlich gesagt in der Abteilung, die in allem ziemlich informell ist, da wir mit Ausländern zu tun haben. Wäre ich z.B. in der Buchhaltung, wären sie nicht so begeistert, wenn ich in diesen Fetzen erscheinen würde.

Zuletzt war ich in der serbischen Botschaft beim Abschied eines der dortigen Mitarbeiter und ich war furchtbar angezogen. Ich trug dieses verfusselte, synthetische, dicke Hemd und alle haben mich angeschaut, als ob ich nicht normal wäre, aber mir ist die Kleidung, vordergründig betrachtet, vollkommen unwichtig.

Selbstverständlich achte ich auf mein Styling wenn ich Termine habe, wenn ich auf Partys bin, was mir viel wichtiger ist, als das tägliche Leben. Dann kleide ich mich auffällig für die Umgebung, so wie mich die Menschen sehen wollen. Z. B. gehe ich zu einer lustigen Party und trage ein Hemd mit Blumenmuster. Und das ist ein stark gemustertes Hemd, das jemand anderer wahrscheinlich nie tragen würde, aber die Leute sind es schon gewohnt, mich in einem blumigen Hemd zu sehen. Sie wissen, dass ich sicher so erscheinen werde und erwarten es irgendwie. Bei der letzten Party trug ich glaube ich alles schwarz, weil ich nicht auffallen und weil ich schlanker aussehen wollte. Ich möchte immer noch ohne Fettpolster und großem Bauch aussehen.

Die hiesigen Serben, wobei man nichts generalisieren kann, haben wir diese sog.

Gastarbeiterfrauen, die sich im Einklang mit ihrer Geldbörse kleiden und mit ihrem Gefühl was geschmackvoll und ansehnlich ist. Ich persönlich stamme aus so einem proletarischen Stadtteil Belgrads, so dass mir diese Mode nicht unbekannt ist. Das sind so diese Blüschen, Röckchen, etwas was zu ausgebrannter Dauerwelle passt, etwas was nicht sehr viel kostet, dafšr aber gut wirkt. Die Stoffqualität ist überhaupt nicht wichtig, Hauptsache, es entspricht der Kleiderordnung für Hochzeiten und Begräbnisse.

Meiner Meinung nach kleiden sich im Allgemeinen die Reichen gut. Natürlich gibt es auch unter denen heftige Geschmacklosigkeit, aber ich meine damit die feineren Reichen, die diskreter und dezenter sind, die wissen was gute Kleidung ist. Für mich ist die gute Kleidung etwas, was eine gute Form, Linie, Farbe hat und vor allem aus gutem Stoff ist. Kaufe immer das teuerste ist deswegen meine Devise, wenn du etwas Gutes haben willst. Hätte ich mehr Geld würde ich mich wahrscheinlich wie ein moderner Dandy kleiden, wie Oscar Wilde des 21. Jahrhunderts. Hätte ich mehr Geld würde ich schon wissen, was gut ist.

Ich gehe zu Bällen, aber habe nie einen Anzug für irgendeinen Anlass getragen. Ich gehe nicht zum Opernball, sondern zum Ball der Flüchtlinge, der Schwulen, der Ausländer, also der Minderheiten. Mein Leben besteht daraus von einer Minderheit zur nächsten zu wechseln, vom Größeren zum Kleineren und umgekehrt. Die Bälle sind vollkommen entspannt, niemand schaut auf den anderen, was er für Kleider trägt, alle sind überhaupt nicht daran interessiert, was die anderen tragen. Der Ball ist ein klassischer Ball, wobei nicht mehr die Einladung von einem Prinzen kommt, sondern von einer Berufsgruppe. So haben die Konditoren, die Schornsteinfeger, die Metzger, die Polizisten ihren Ball und jeder hat seinen eigenen Ball. Dann gibt es die Bälle verschiedener Gesellschaftsgruppen, Vereine, wie z.B. der Juristenball, Medizinerball, Ball der Konservativen, Ball der konservativen Rechtsradikalen usw. Die Ballsaison beginnt irgendwann im Januar und dauert bis Mai und es werden, mehr oder weniger, zwischen 30 und 50 Bälle organisiert.

Sehr arme Österreicher kleiden sich sehr armselig, wie in jedem Land. Man sieht kilometerweit, dass sie arm sind. Die anderen kleiden sich durchschnittlich, unauffällig und achten auf die Marke und die Qualität viel weniger als wir. Landhausmode ist in Österreich sehr beliebt. Das ist ein Teil der nationalen Identität, wahrscheinlich das Einzige, dass sie in der Horde der Ausländer behalten konnten. Hier ist es z.B. gewöhnlich, dass sich die konservativen hohen Kreise und die Reichen im Landhausstil für ihre Familienfeste oder Ähnliches kleiden. Z. B. kannst du in einer PR-Agentur diese geile Frau sehen, die ein Schürzchen und eine gemusterte Bluse mit Puffärmeln trägt. Unglaublich! Oder du siehst diesen DDDr. Ingenieur Mag., der in Lederhosen, Kniestrümpfen und einem Hut mit einem Ziegenbart in der Krempe erscheint, und das ist für sie in Ordnung. Das ist der Teil des Nationalstolzes, wie sollte ich das sagen, der Tradition. Das wäre genauso wie wenn Velja Ilić Opanken und eine Reiterhose wie zu Zeiten des Ersten Weltkriegs tragen würde.

Ich muss mich nicht mehr um mein Aussehen kümmern, da ich in meiner Zeit schon eine oder die andere Frau hatte, jetzt habe ich Kinder und bin nicht mehr auf dem Markt, auch wenn ich mich schon herumtreibe. So wie jeder Serbe habe ich meinen Bauch wachsen lassen, wieso sollte ich mich anstrengen, gib mir besser was zu essen.

Meine Bücher sind meine Lieblingslektüre, so dass ich für andere keine Zeit habe. Derzeit lese ich die Biographie von Marlon Brando. Dieses Buch gefällt mir sehr. Er war so wie ich, es ging nur ums Fressen. Ich habe so viele Lieblingsfilme, so dass ich schwer einen hervorheben kann. Vielleicht könnte ich „Fanny und Alexander” nennen. Meine Lieblings TVSerien sind momentan 2Little Britain” und „South Park”. Ich mag Musik zum Chillen, Musik zum Entspannen und Musik, die dich bewegt.

Die Partys können schon ziemlich langweilig, aber auch sehr gut sein und es erscheinen immer dieselben Leute. Die Leute bewegen sich meistens in ihren geschlossesnen Kreisen.

Ich gehe dorthin, wo es ziemlich wild zugeht, Disko, Disko Partizani oder gehe zu den - unter Anführungszeichen - „underground Partys”. Kürzlich war ich bei so einer Drama Party mit zwei

Bräuten. Die Kostüme, das Bühnenbild, alles war toll, aber so viele nackte Körper waren dort, so viel Testosterone hing in der Luft, so dass wir bald gingen. Ich gehe dorthin, wo sich junge Menschen versammeln. Ich mag auf dem Laufenden sein, weiß aber auch, dass zu viel Zeit mit jüngeren Menschen zu verbringen, nicht spurlos an einem vorbeigehen kann. Bis ich eines Tages mir selber lächerlich vorkomme werde ich aber so weiter machen.

Es gibt nicht nur das eine Leben. Jeder führt mehrere Leben. Einige davon sind geheim, einige öffentlich und für jedes dieser Leben gibt es einen dazugehörigen Stil. Wer arbeitet, hat einen Stil für die Arbeit, wer familiär ist, hat einen Stil für die Familie. Die Stils sind definitiv Teile des Lebens und ich glaube, dass niemand nur einen Stil hat, sondern eine Mischung, so dass er nicht ein ferfusselter, lausiger Außenseiter ist. Für mich ist nur der verfusselte, lausige Außenseiter der konsequente Stil. Alles Andere ist Veränderung und chamäleonartige Anpassung und Befolgung von Trends. Es wundert mich, dass die Leute aus den kreativeren Branchen selber nicht so kreativ sind bei der Gestaltung des eigenen Stils. Alle sind gleich, zumindest hier in Österreich. Die Leute möchten definitiv einander ähneln, vor allem wenn sie derselben Gruppe angehören.

MILORAD STAMENKOVIĆ

Zovem se Stamenković Milorad. Rođen sam u Smederevu 17.10.1984.Živim već deset godina u Beču. Uglavnom se bavim bau branšom, bauštelom, parketarstvom i laminatom. Obožavam automobile, a san mi je da kupim i motor. Idol mi je Majkl Džekson. Od muzike slušam:domaći rep, Hip-Hop, Tehno i naše narodnjake, sineeeeeeeeee. Čitao sam knjigu Kamasutra i volim da čitam o ljubavi. Veliki sam sentimentalac.Volim da gledam akcione filmovei horor.

Omiljeni film mi je “Lucky Number Slevin“. Volim sportski da se oblačim, ali nemam baš mnogo prilike za to pošto najviše šetam radne pantalone. Najviše volim Nike i Pumine stvari. Oblačim se u H&M, New Yorker i Nike prodavnicama.

Kada idem na neku svečanost uglavnom je to elegantno sportska varijanta.

Najdraži detalj su mi naočare i minđuša. Omiljeni parfem mi je AXE. Smatram da se ljudi mnogo bolje oblače u Srbiji nego u Austriji. Za mnogo manje para lepše su obučeni dole nego ovde u Beču.

My favourite accessories are glasses and earrings and my favourite deodorant is AXE. I think people in Serbia dress much better than in Austria. Even though they have less money, they dress better than people in Vienna.

RADA ŽIVADINOVIĆ

Ja sam Rada Živadinović, devedeseto godište, 19 godina. U Beču sam već jedno šest meseci. Studiram kulturnu i socijalnu antropologiju. U Srbiji sam završila gimnaziju.

Studiram. Jako zadovoljna fakultetom, ali Bečom ne toliko. Atmosfera je baš ono, ljudi su malo drugačiji, drugačiji mentalitet, strašno su zatvoreni. Smeta mi. Fali mi malo, ne znam iskrenosti, ljudskosti. Došla sam totalno bez predrasuda, znala sam da su zatvoreni. Pokušavala sam, ali što sam duže ovde to više shvatam da je stvarno tako kao što sam mislila, možda je još gore, ali, dobro je što se čovek navikne, nekako to prihvati kao tako. Što ne znači da ću ja da odustanem, da pokušam da promenim nešto i to. Fakultet je jako zanimljiv. U Srbiji stvarno ne bih imala priliku da studiram tako nešto. Skroz je kritički, savremeno. Ne znam, trenutno učim kolonijalizam, rasizam i etnicitet. Pojam etnicitet, pojam kolonijalizam, pojam rasizam kroz čitavu istoriju. Totalno se kritički postupa na to.

Pričamo o rasizmu, o tome kako je nastao i kako i dalje traje, pričamo o tome šta je rasizam danas, o austrijskim izborima danas i ono što se kaže bez dlake na jeziku.

Skoro sam učila o crnom feminizmu. To je skroz nešto što mene interesuje. To su žene koje su smatrale da je feminizam neodvojiv od antirasizma i borile su se za prava žena i prava crnkinja.Baš je bio jak pokret.

Profesori su razni. Sad radim nešto što je osnovno za sve sociološke nauke, osnove osnova, metodologiju i to. U suštini, razni su profesori, ali su neki stariji, teoretičari, što ne znači da nisu zanimljivi. Jako su zanimljive studije koje čitam, daje motiv i vidim sebe tu i znam šta bih ja radila, a imam i jako mlade profesore koji su totalno politički angažovani, neki i preterano. To baš ne može da se sakrije na predavanju, ali meni je to super, zato što imamo slične stavove.

Sve je savremeno, sva predavanja su snimljena na internetu. Mogu da biram šta hoću da slušam, koliko hoću, da kontaktiram kog profesora kad hoću, tako da je stvarno s te strane super, al opet je malo, mislim, ne znam... Svi ti ljudi koji studiraju su strašno otvoreni, alternativni, angažovani, kritički, ali u suštini ipak nisam uspela da osetim neku stvarno grupnu atmosferu, ne znam možda nisu u stanju da rade u grupi, ali ovde je na predavanju stvarno teško da se uspostavi kontakt. Vidi se da oni žele, ali ne znaju baš kako bi, onda se priča, ali to je nekako prisiljena priča o tome, ne znam, što mi sudiramo. Može da se priča o politici i da se rarazglaba, ali to je strogo nekako poslovno, nećeš da osetiš nijednu emociju. Ne umeju uopšte da pređu tu granicu, da daju nešto od sebe, da kažu nešto iskreno, jednostavno plaše se, ali vidi se da to i njima smeta. Vidi se da su toga svesni, ali to ne umeju da prevaziđu što je verovatno kulturološki uslovljeno i u porodici i sve.

Jako zanimljivo pitanje je gde kupujem odeću. Ne kupujem odeću uopšte. Mislim, najozbiljnije, to mi je stav, kupujem gaće i čarape kad mi trebaju, kad ne mogu da ih uzmem

od sestre jer ih više ne želi. Ali generalno se trudim da što manje kupujem i smatram da stvari kao što je odeća, da prvo nije bitno šta nosiš, a drugo, ako ti je i bitno šta nosiš da možeš da sašiješ sam, da ne moraš da kupiš mislim. Ne zadovoljava me nimalo taj osećaj kad odeš i vidiš neku novu stvar, pa kupiš novu stvar. Više volim da nađem staru stvar, zato što ima dušu, zato što se lepše osećam u njoj nego nešto novo, kao kratko zadovoljstvo koje te posle prođe, pa moraš posle ponovo da kupiš.

Ovo će sigurno puno da te interesuje, ovde je jako popularno, mislim imaš priliku tako da je meni super preturanje po kontejnerima i skupljanje onoga što ljudi bace, a ljudi bace sve i svašta. Videla si ove kontejnere za odelo. Ja tamo stalno idem i stalno nalazim super stvari.

To je prvi put bilo skroz otkrovenje, ono, otišla, otvorila, to mi je prvi put bilo, gledam da li me neko gleda. Sad mi je kao kad odem u prodavnicu. Ne plaćam. Znači da na neki način ide sa mojim stavovima i da se ja na neki način odupirem tom konzumentskom društvu i kapitalizmu. Druga stvar, mogu sama da kreiram to što nosim, šijem i tako to. Evo na primer, zadnje sam pronašla duks, našila mu prišivku i tako. Čovek stvarno puno stvari nađe. Nije sve na meni iz kontejnera. Ovo mi je od tetke nešto staro, patike sam kupila, nije da ništa nikad neću da kupim , ali se trudim da ne kupujem i nemam potrebu za tim, jer nemam razloga, jer mi ne treba puno, a i to što mi treba mogu da pronađem. Kupim ponešto nekad. Kad idem na neke svečanosti ne pravim kompromis, ako su svadbe, ljudi me znaju i prihvataju to kako je. Neću da obučem nešto mnogo pocepano zato što bi moglo lično da uvredi te ljude koji su tamo, ali ne mogu ni svečano da se obučem, jer ni nemam svečanog odela. Drugo, možda ću da obučem nešto sa što manje prišivaka, zakačenih zihernadli, nešto da izgleda normalnije.

Ja stvarno ne volim da pripadam određenoj grupaciji, samim tim što si tako obučen, vide da si student tehnologije, ako si tako obučen, vide da si panker, ako si ovako, onda si ono.

Tužno je to što kako se oblačiš ipak nekako odelo definiše. Hteo to ili ne, pripadaš nekoj određenoj grupi i ne znam, mislim, ne mogu da kažem da je to jedinstveno jer imaš gomilu ljudi koji se atko oblače, ali ne trudim se da se ne uklopim u neke klišee.

To za fakultet je malo smešno stvarno. Gomila ljudi nosi dredove, sigurno 30% fakulteta je sa dredovima, sa indijskim stvarima koje su doneli odavde, odande. Ali sad to naravno je sve lepo, da smo svi multikulturalni, ali malo ponekad prelazi u ekstrem. Rekla sam ti na primer ono kad kaže dečko, ja se perem samo sa sapunima koje donosim iz Indije. Ako je otišao u tu Indiju, i video i razumeo tu kulturu i želi da podrži, ne mora da bude toliko isključiv i da pljuje po ovoj ovde. U redu je, možda ova kultura i nije toliko čista, možda je meni draža neka daleka kultura, verovatno zato što mi je dalja i egzotičnija, ali ne mogu da budem toliko isključiva.To je meni zanimljivo kako neki ljudi iz nekog otvorenog pogleda na svet prelaze u totalni radikalizam i gde vide samo to što rade i samo to gde su, tako je isto i sa umetnošću verovatno? Sve je društvo spektakla.

Profesori izgledaju skroz normalno. Samo jedan profesor dolazi u odelu i sa kravatom, a većina ih izgleda potpuno prosečno. Kao ti bi došli na predavanje bez ikakvih problema.

Kod nas se mnogo više polaže vrednost na to što oblače, ali to ima veze i sa kompleksom zbog para, zato što ima strašno malo para, ljudi isfrustrirani, žele na sve moguće načine da sakriju to i da se prave kao da imaju mnogo i onda dolazi to zlato, Grand Production, marke, falsifikati. Ovde ljudi nemaju te komplekse jer je malo bogatije društvo i onda im nije toliko bitno kako će da izgledaju.U suštini je toliko raznovrsno i šareno da nećeš toliko da budeš zapažen u masi, a kod nas, u Ćupriji sam bila mnogo ekstremnija. To je verovatno bio neki bunt i inat, što su više oni pričali, to sam ja više terala kontru i pokazivala kako me stvarno baš briga zato šta oni misle. Ovde možeš da prošetaš u bilo čemu, neće ljudi toliko da obraćaju pažnju, nemaju ni vremena, poso-kuća i toliko su preokupirani sobom, ako su nečim preokupirani, tako da nemaju vremena da vide druge ljude.

Volim stvarno puno da čitam i puno i čitam. Trenutno sam preokupirana ovim za fakultet ali mi ne pada mi teško, ustvari mi je strašno interesantno. Skro sam čitala sociološku studiju jedne italijanske četvrti u Americi. To je pisao Vilijam Vajt (William White). Čovek sa Harvarda iz visokih intelektualnih krugova koji je hteo da uradi sociološku studiju o Italijanima koji žive u Americi u tim slam četvrtima. Sad čitam Poglavica Sietl (Chief Seattle). Neki Indijanac koji je pisao pismo, jako dobro, o ekologiji, o odnosu čoveka prema prirodi itd.

Muziku skupljam najrazličitiju. Volim da slušam muziku, od etno muzike iz svih krajeva sveta, od flamenka, preko jevrejskih pesama pa do rege, punk. U suštini sam krenula od punka, punk i sad pratim, idem na koncerte, ali sada imam šira shvatanja. Filmovi, sad ću da ispadnem pravi student, skoro je bio etno cinema i bilo je najrazličitijih filmova iz celog sveta. Ja sam gledala neke kratke filmiće i jako je zanimljivo bilo. Devojka iz Hrvatske je pravila neki kratki film, skupljala je, gledala je neke najneverovatnije oglase i zvala je te ljude i pravila intervju sa tim ljudima. Mislim, to je, od žene koja traži bačvu za kišnicu na poklon, preko jednog frika koji traži Hi-men (He-Man) figuricu i to mu je smisao života. Poslednje sam od Džarmuša (Jim Jarmush) gledala „Gluvarenje” i nije mi se svideo.

Odevanje govori puno.

Meni se sto puta desi da se pogledam s ljudima na ulici i da tačno znamo šta mislimo. Nek to bude i zbog prišivke i zbog majice, ali opet je to zbog odela. To u suštini nije loše, u nekom smislu ako se ljudi prepoznaju i spajaju, ali ako to prelozi u uniformisanje.

Trudim se da koristim kozmetiku koja nije testirana na životinjama.

Nisam ni mislila da je ovo tvoje nešto površno, sviđa mi se što si radila sa najrazličitijim ljudima. Mislim da će biti živopisno.

My name is Rada Živadinović. I was born in 1990, I’m 19 years old. I came to Vienna six months ago to study cultural and social anthropology. I finished secondary school in Serbia.

I am very satisfied with my studies, but not very satisfied with Vienna. The atmosphere is like, people are somewhat different, different mentality, terribly closed. It bothers me. I miss a little, I don’t know, honesty, humanity. I came over here completely without prejudice, I knew they were closed. I tried, but the longer I’m here I realise it is really like I originally thought, maybe even worse. The good thing is that you get used to it, you just accept it as such. Which doesn’t mean I will give up trying to make a change. My studies are very interesting. I really wouldn’t have a chance to study something like that in Serbia. It is totally critical, modern. I don’t know – at the moment I’m studying colonialism, racism and ethnicity. The term ethnicity, the term colonialism, the term racism throughout history.

These are totally critically dealt with. We talk about racism, how it was conceived, how it still exists. We talk about what racism is today, about Austrian elections today very openly.

A short time ago I was studying black feminism. That is something that completely interests me. These women believed that feminism is inseparable from anti racism and they fought for womens’ rights and the rights of black women. It really was a strong movement.

The professors are all different. Right now, I’m working on something that is basic for all sociological sciences, the basics of basics, methodology and so on. Basically, the professors are different from one another. Some of them, the older ones, are theoreticians, which doesn’t mean they are not interesting. The studies I’m reading are very interesting, they motivate me and I see myself in that and I know what I would do. On the other hand, I have young professors who are totally politically committed, some of them even too much, which they can not hide during lectures, but I’m fine with it, because we have similar views. Everything is very modern, all lectures are being filmed and are on the internet. I can choose which lectures to go to as often as I like. I can contact any professor when I like, so from that perspective it’s ok. But on the other hand, it is somewhat, I don’t know ...

All these people that study there are very open, alternative, committed, critical, but basically I still haven’t been able to feel this group atmosphere. I don’t know, maybe they are not able to work in a group, but it is extremely difficult to make contact during the lectures.

It is obvious they want it, but they don’t know how to. Then everybody is conversing, but it’s somehow forced talk about our studies. You can talk politics and just go on about it, but it is all somehow strictly business, you can’t feel any emotion. They can’t cross that line, give something of themselves, say something honest. They are simply afraid, but it’s obvious they’re also bothered by it. You can see they’re aware of it, but they can’t get over it, because it’s probably deeply rooted in the culture, in the family and so on.

A very interesting question is, where do I buy my clothes. I don’t buy clothes at all. I really mean it seriously. That is my position. I buy underwear and socks/stockings when I need them, when I can’t take them from my sister, if she doesn’t need them any more. In general I try to buy as little clothes as possible and I think that stuff like clothes, that firstly it doesn’t matter what you wear, and secondly, if it is important to you, that you can sow it yourself, you don’t have to buy it. I am not at all satisfied with the feeling you get when you

see something new and you buy that new thing. I like finding something old, because it has soul, because I feel better in it than in something new, as a short-lived pleasure which goes by fast and you have to go and buy again. This will probably be interesting to you, here it is very popular, I mean you have that opportunity, and that is rummaging in containers and gathering stuff people throw away. And people throw away a lot. You have seen these containers for clothes. I go to these containers all the time and find super things. The first time I ever did it, that was a real revelation. I went, I opened one – that was my first time – I looked around if anyone was watching. Now it’s like going to the store. I’m not paying for it. So that corresponds with my beliefs and I manage to somehow resist the consumer society and capitalism. The other thing is that I can create the things I wear, I sow and so on.

For example, I found this sweatshirt, sown a patch to it and there you have it. You can really find a lot. Not everything I wear is from a container. This one on me is something old of my aunt’s. I bought the trainers, not that I don’t buy anything. I try not to go shopping and I don’t have the need for it because there’s no reason. I don’t need much and what I need I can find.

I sometimes buy clothes. When I go to parties and other events I don’t make compromises.

When I go to weddings, people already know me and they accept me as I am. I don’t want to wear something that is torn very much, because I can offend some of the people there.

On the other hand I can’t wear something festive, because I don’t own clothes for such occasions. Maybe I wear something that has less patches or safety pins, something that looks more normal.

I don’t like to be in any specific group. If you’re wearing this, you’re automatically a student of technical sciences, if you’re wearing that, you’re a punk , if you’re wearing this, then you’re this or that. It is sad that clothes do make the man. Whether you like it or not, you belong to a certain group and, I don’t know, but I can’t say I’m unique, because there are a lot of people that dress like that. But I don’t try to adjust to clichés. It is really funny, but at university a bunch of people have dreadlocks, 30% of people at the faculty definitely have dreadlocks, wear indian clothes they brought over from some place. It is nice of course being so multicultural, but it goes to the extreme sometimes. I mentioned this boy who says he only washes with this soap he brings over from India. If he has been to India, he has acquainted himself with its culture, wants to support it, he doesn’t have to be so exclusive and spit on the culture here. It’s fine, perhaps this culture is not so pure, perhaps I like some distant culture better, because it’s so distant and exotic, but I can’t be so exclusive. It is extremely interesting to me how some people out of open-mindedness can shift to complete radicalism and see only what they are doing and where they are. I suppose, it’s the same with art? This is the society of spectacle.

The professors look totally normal. Only one professor comes dressed in a suit and a tie, but most of them look really ordinary. They attend the lectures dressed like you, no problem. The people in our country pay too much attention to what they’re wearing. But it has something to do with having a complex about not having enough money. People are frustrated and try in all possible ways to hide it, so they show off like they have a lot of money

and there comes all this gold, Grand production, labels and fakes. People here don’t have such complexes because society is richer and so they don’t care about their appearance.

Basically it is so diverse and colourful so that you won’t be noticed in a crowd. Back home in Ćuprija I was very extreme. That was probably some kind of rebellion and defiance. The more people talked about me, the more I opposed and showed them that I really didn’t care what they thought. You can walk around wearing anything, people won’t notice that much, they don’t have the time, it’s all work-home and they’re so into themselves, if they’re into something, so they don’t have time to look at others.

I really like to read and I read a lot. I am very preoccupied with my studies at the moment, but it’s not tiring, I really find it all interesting. I have just read a sociological study of an Italian neighbourhood in the US. It was written by William White. The man is from Harvard, moves in intellectual circles and wanted to make a sociological study of Italians living in slums in America. At the moment I’m reading Chief Seattle. He is this Indian who wrote this very good letter about ecology and human relationship with nature and so on.

I collect all kinds of music. I like listening to music, from ethno from all parts of the world, from flamenco, through Jewish songs all the way to reggae, punk. My starting point was basically punk, I still listen to it, I go to concerts, but now I have broader interests. As far as films are concerned, I’m going to sound like a real student now. There was this ethno cinema and all kinds of films from all over the world were shown. I saw some short films and it was very interesting. Some girl from Croatia made this short film about some strange advertisements she collected, then called the people in the ad and interviewed them. For example, there was this lady looking for a barrel to collect rainwater, then this freak looking for a figurine of He-Man, because that’s his purpose in life. The last film I saw was Jarmusch’s “Permanent Vacation” and I didn’t like it.

The clothes speak volumes.

It happens to me a lot to look some passers-by in the eyes and we know exactly what we think. Perhaps it’s because of my patch or my shirt, but it’s still because of the way we dress. That is basically not so bad for people to connect in a certain way, but it almost turns to uniformity.

I try using make-up which is not tested on animals.

I don’t think your project is superficial. I like the fact that you are working with different people. I think it will be colourful.

Ich heiße Rada Živadinović, Jahrgang 1990, 19 Jahre alt. In Wien lebe ich seit ca. 6 Monaten und studiere Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie. In Serbien habe ich ein Gymnasium abgeschlossen.

Ich bin mit der Fakultät sehr zufrieden, mit Wien dafür nicht so sehr. Die Atmosphäre ist irgendwie... Die Menschen sind etwas anders, es ist eine andere Mentalität, sie sind furchtbar geschlossen. Das stört mich. Ich vermisse ein bisschen, ich weiß nicht, Ehrlichkeit, Menschlichkeit. Ich kam hierher gänzlich ohne Vorurteile, ich wusste, dass sie geschlossen sind. Ich habe es versucht, aber je länger ich hier bin, begreife ich immer mehr, dass es wirklich so ist, wie ich es gedacht habe, vielleicht noch schlimmer. Gut ist, dass sich der Mensch anpasst und das als Solches akzeptiert. Das heißt aber nicht, dass ich den Versuch, etwas zu ändern, aufgeben werde. Das Studium ist sehr interessant.

In Serbien hätte ich wirklich keine Möglichkeit so was zu studieren. Es ist sehr kritisch, modern. Zurzeit lerne ich über Kolonialismus, Rassismus und Ethnizität; über Begriffe Ethnizität, Kolonialismus und Rassismus durch die gesamte Geschichte. Mit diesen Themen wird ganz kritisch umgegangen. Wir sprechen über Rassismus, wie es entstanden ist, wie es weiterhin erhalten bleibt, wir sprechen davon, was Rassismus heute ist, über österreichische Wahlen heute vollkommen offen.

Kürzlich habe ich über den schwarzen Feminismus gelernt. Das ist das Thema, das mich sehr interessiert. Das sind Frauen, die meinten,Feminismus sei vom Antirassismus nicht zu trennen und sie kämpften für Frauenrechte und Rechte schwarzer Frauen. Das war eine sehr starke Bewegung.

Die Professoren sind unterschiedlich. Derzeit arbeite ich an Grundlagen aller soziologischer Wissenschaften, Grundlagen der Grundlagen, Methodologie usw. Die Professoren sind eigentlich verschieden. Einige von ihnen sind älter, Theoretiker, was nicht heißt, dass sie nicht interessant sind. Die Studien, die ich lese sind sehr interessant, sie motivieren mich und ich sehe mich darin und weiß was ich machen würde. Ich habe auch junge Professoren, die total politisch engagiert sind, einige davon zu viel, was man in den Vorlesungen nicht ganz verbergen kann. Für mich ist das super, da wir ähnliche Meinungen haben.

Alles ist modern, alle Vorlesungen sind über Internet abrufbar. Ich kann wählen, was ich höre und so viel ich will. Ich kann jeden Professor kontaktieren wann ich will. Das finde ich sehr gut. Andererseits ist es irgendwie, ich weiß nicht .... Alle diese Studierenden sind sehr offen, alternativ, engagiert, kritisch. Trotzdem konnte ich keine echte Gruppenatmosphäre spüren. Ich weiß nicht, vielleicht sind sie nicht imstande in einer Gruppe zu arbeiten, aber es ist wirklich schwierig in den Vorlesungen Kontakt aufzunehmen. Sie möchten das, man kann das sehen, aber sie wissen nicht wie und dann redet man miteinander, aber das ist irgendwie ein gekünsteltes Gespräch zum Beispiel darüber was wir studieren. Man kann über die Politik lang und breit sprechen, aber das ist irgendwie streng geschäftlich, du spürst keine Emotion. Sie können diese Grenze gar nicht überschreiten, etwas von sich geben, etwas Ehrliches sagen. Sie haben Angst, aber man sieht, dass es auch sie stört.

Sie sind es sich dessen bewusst, man sieht es, aber sie können es nicht überwinden, was sicherlich kulturell bedingt ist und durch die Familie usw.

Sehr interessante Frage, wo ich meine Kleider kaufe. Ich kaufe gar keine Kleider. Im ernst!

Das ist meine Philosophie. Ich kaufe Unterwäsche und Strümpfe, wenn ich sie brauche und wenn ich die alten Sachen meiner Schwester nicht nehmen kann. Grundsätzlich versuche ich so wenig wie möglich einzukaufen und denke, dass es bei Sachen, wie Kleider erstens nicht wichtig ist was man anzieht und zweitens kann man es sich selber nähen, wenn es so wichtig ist. Man muss nicht kaufen, meine ich. Mich erfüllt überhaupt nicht dieses Gefühl, wenn du eine neue Sache siehst und sie dann kaufst. Ich mag lieber etwas Altes finden, weil es eine Seele hat, weil ich mich darin besser fühle als in einem neuen Kleidungsstück, das nur ein kurzer Spaß ist, der bald verfliegt und dann musst du bald darauf was Neues kaufen.

Es wird dich sicher sehr interessieren, hier ist es sehr populär, ich meine die Gelegenheit ist da – nämlich, in Containern zu wühlen und zu sammeln was die Leute wegwerfen. Und die Leute werfen wirklich alles mögliche weg. Du hast sicher diese Kleidungscontainer gesehen. Ich gehe ständig zu diesen Containern und finde super Sachen. Das erste Mal war das eine totale Entdeckung. Ich kam zu einem Container, öffnete es – schaute um mich, ob man mich beobachtet. Jetzt ist es wie wenn ich in ein Bekleidungsgeschäft gehen würde.

Ich bezahle dafür nichts, was heißt, dass es im Einklang mit meinen Ansichten ist und eine Art meiner eigenen Abwehr gegen diese Konsumgesellschaft und Kapitalismus darstellt.

Die zweite Sache ist, dass ich alles was ich trage selber entwerfen kann, ich nähe usw. Das letzte was ich z.B. gefunden habe war ein Sweatshirt worauf ich einen Aufnäher genäht habe. Man kann ganz viele Sachen finden. Nicht alles an mir ist aus dem Container. Das ist was Altes von meiner Tante, die Turnschuhe habe ich gekauft. Es ist nicht so, als ob ich nie etwas kaufe, aber ich bemühe mich, wenig einzukaufen, da ich kein Bedürfnis danach und keinen Grund dafür habe, weil ich nicht sehr viel brauche und das was ich brauche, kann ich finden. Manchmal kaufe ich was ein. Wenn ich zu Festen, z.B. Hochzeiten gehe, mache ich keine Kompromisse, alle kennen mich schon und akzeptieren mich so. Ich möchte nicht etwas ganz Zerschlissenes anziehen, da es die Leute dort beleidigen könnte, aber ich kann nichts Festliches anziehen, da ich keine solchen Kleidungsstücke besitze. Ich ziehe etwas an, was weniger Aufnäher oder Sicherheitsnadeln hat, etwas was normaler aussieht.

Ich mag wirklich nicht, einer gewissen Gruppe zu gehören. Je nach dem wie du angezogen bist, wissen die Leute, dass du z.B. Technik studierst, oder wenn du was anderes an hast, dann sehen sie du bist Punker, wenn du dies an hast, dann bist du so. Es ist traurig, dass man sich durch Kleider definiert. Egal ob du es möchtest oder nicht, gehörst du einer bestimmten Gruppe an. Ich will nicht sagen, dass ich einzigartig bin, weil es eine Menge Leute gibt, die sich so kleiden wie ich, aber ich bemühe mich, nicht in gewisse Klischees reinzupassen.

Auf der Fakultät ist es wirklich lustig. Eine Menge Leute trägt Dreadlocks, sicherlich 30% der Leute dort hat so eine Frisur oder trägt Kleider aus Indien oder Sachen, die sie von hier oder dort mitgebracht haben. Das ist natürlich schön, wenn wir alle so multikulti sind, aber manchmal ist es etwas extrem. Ich habe dir glaube ich von diesem Kerl erzählt, der sich nur

mit Seifen wäscht, die er aus Indien mitbringt. Wenn er in Indien war, diese Kultur gesehen und verstanden hat und will sie unterstützen, muss er nicht so ausschließlich sein und diese Kultur verleugnen. In Ordnung, vielleicht ist diese Kultur nicht so rein, vielleicht ist mir auch eine ferne Kultur lieber, wahrscheinlich weil sie ferner und exotischer ist, aber ich kann nicht so ausschließlich sein. Es ist für mich sehr interessant, wie einige Leute von einer offenen Weltanschauung zu einem totalen Radikalismus wechseln und sehen nur das, was sie tun und wo sie gerade sind. Das ist wahrscheinlich auch der Fall mit der Kunst? Alles ist ein Spektakel.

Die Professoren sehen ganz normal aus. Nur ein Professor trägt den Anzug und Krawatte, die meisten sehen ganz durchschnittlich aus. Sie kommen zu den Vorlesungen so angezogen wie du, ohne Probleme. Bei „uns” legt man viel mehr Wert darauf, wie man angezogen ist. Das hängt mit den Komplexen zusammen, weil man weniger Geld hat, die Leute sind frustriert und versuchen auf alle möglichen Arten dies zu verbergen und wollen zeigen, wie viel Geld sie haben. Daher kommt das viele Gold, Grand Production (großes Musikproduktionshaus, das vor allem Volksmusik fördert), gefälschte Markenprodukte.

Hierzulande haben die Leute keine solchen Komplexe, weil die Gesellschaft reicher ist und den Leuten ist es nicht wichtig, wie sie aussehen. Grundsätzlich ist es so verschieden und bunt, so dass du in der Masse gar nicht auffällst.

Daheim in Ćuprija war ich viel extremer. Das ist wahrscheinlich ein Zeichen der Revolte und des Trotzes. Je mehr die anderen von mir geredet haben, desto mehr habe ich getrotzt und zeigte ihnen, wie egal es mir ist, was sie von mir denken. Hier kannst du alles tragen, die Leute werden dich nicht so sehr beachten. Sie haben eigentlich gar keine Zeit, sie gehen arbeiten, dann nach Hause, sie sind so mit sich beschäftigt, wenn sie mit etwas beschäftigt sind und haben daher keine Zeit andere Leute zu beachten.

Ich lese gerne und viel. Derzeit bin ich so auf mein Studium konzentriert, aber das fällt mir überhaupt nicht schwer und ist eigentlich sehr interessant. Kürzlich habe ich eine soziologische Studie über einen italienischen Stadtteil in Amerika gelesen. Es wurde von William White geschrieben. Der Mensch ist von Harvard, aus hohen intellektuellen Kreisen und er wollte eine soziologische Studie über in Amerika in Slums lebende Italiener schreiben. Derzeit lese ich über Chief Seattle. Das ist ein Indianer, der einen Brief über Ökologie geschrieben hat und darüber, wie sich der Mensch gegenüber Natur usw. verhält.

Ich sammle verschiedenste Arten von Musik. Ich höre Musik gerne, beginnend mit Ethno Musik aus allen Teilen der Welt, von Flamenco über jüdische Lieder bis hin zum Reggae und Punk. Eigentlich habe ich mit Punk angefangen und Punk höre ich heute auch noch, gehe zu Konzerten, aber jetzt habe ich meine Horizonte erweitert. Was Filme betrifft, werde ich dir jetzt wie ein echter Student klingen. Ich war kürzlich in einem Ethno Kino und da wurden verschiedene Filme aus der ganzen Welt gezeigt. Ich habe mir einige Kurzfilme angeschaut und es war sehr interessant. Ein Mädchen aus Kroatien hat einen Kurzfilm

gemacht über die ungewöhnlichsten Anzeigen, die sie gesammelt hat. Dann hat sie diese Leute angerufen und hat sie interviewt. Es gab z.B. eine Frau, die ein Regenwasserfass als Geschenk gesucht hat, dann einen Freak, der seinen Lebenssinn darin sieht, He-Man Figuren zu sammeln. Der letzte Film, den ich gesehen habe war ein Jarmusch Film namens „Permanent Vacation” und der hat mir nicht gefallen.

Die Kleider verraten viel.

Mir passiert es oft, dass ich den Leuten, die mir auf der Straße begegnen, in die Augen schaue und wir wissen genau, was wir denken. Das kann wegen der Aufnäher oder des T-Shirts sein, aber es ist immerhin wegen der Kleidung. Das ist im Grunde genommen nicht schlecht, wenn sich die Leute auf einer gewissen Ebene erkennen und verbinden, aber wenn das zur Uniformierung wird... Ich versuche, Kosmetik zu benutzen, die nicht an Tieren getestet wurde.

Ich denke nicht, dass dein Projekt oberflächlich ist. Es gefällt mir, dass du mit verschiedensten Leuten gearbeitet hast. Ich denke, dass es sehr interessant sein wird.

RAJKO BIJELIĆ

Zovem se Rajko Bijelić. Rođen prije 29 godina, 18. avgusta 1979. u Mrkonjić Gradu. To je prvi grad pored Banja Luke. Već šest i po godina živim u Beču. Još uvijek studiram, nadam se još ne dugo. Studirao sam dvije godine u Banja Luci pa onda odlučio da nastavim ovdje. Sad sam pri kraju, imam još dva ispita i drugi dio diplomskog rada da odbranim. To je tehnološki fakultet, odsjek je tehnologija drveta i prirodnih vlakana. Kao što vidiš, radim kao Štraus (Strauss). Ja sam Štraus što znači da mi je Mocart (Mozart) konkurencija. Prodajem karte za koncerte klasične muzike, konkretno u Hofburgu. Ljudi u nama čak nekad vide predstavnike bečke kulture.

Odjeću kupujem, iskreno, u prodavnicama koje su, ako gledamo, neka srednja klasa. Znači definitivno ne u markiranim ili strogo markiranim prodavnicama. Recimo tipa Espritovih radnji ili Peek &Cloppenburg ili tog nivoa nešto, znači srednja nekakva klasa, recimo tako. To bi bilo jedno što se tiče cijene, a ako gledamo stil, bilo bi više onako sportski stil. Naravno možda u nekim momentima bi trebalo da vuče na elegantnije, ali uglavnom više neki sportski stil.

Zadnja svečanost na kojoj sam bio je bila promocija magistarskog rada od mog najboljeg prijatelja u Beču na muzičkoj akademiji. Da, definitivno sam bio elegantno obučen, sa crnim odijelom, kravatom. Znači crno odijelo, bijela košulja, kravata kombinacija bijelog i crnog, naravno crne čarape, nikako bijele, crne cipele, ne špicaste definitivno,crne lakirane cipele, pačiji kljun, sa pertlama , ne nikako sa onim nekakvim metalnim kopčama.

Imao sam parfem, Esprit-ov.

Mogu reći dio, najviše para definitivno ulažem u obuću. Ne mislim da je to prepoznatljiv dio mene. Recimo da to radim zato da imam udobnu obuću. Recimo da ako je kod odjeće bilo da kupujem nešto srednje klase, ako gledamo cijena, kod obuće kupujem sigurno nešto kvalitetno. Uglavnom originalne stvari, bez namjere da to kupujem što je originalno već zato što mi služi svrsi. Recimo, tipa imam Nike patike i za posao uvjek neku obuću sa nekakvim ortopedskim đonom, tako nešto. Kažem samo s namjerom da mi posluži svrsi, a ne s namjerom da se... Volim otvorene, jake boje, valjda zato što mi je ten isuviše taman. Recimo, nemam problem da nosim crveno, žuto, teget, da nosim. Omiljena boja mi je, ako izostavimo odjeću , mi je svakako plavo, nebo plavo, ali u odjeći ne baš, ali mimo toga je sigurno ta boja. Obuću naravno ne žutu.

Jeza me hvata na Krocha stil. Znači, vjeruj mi, užas! To mora čovjek primjetiti. To mi je prva asocijacija bila, kao da su sišli svi sa neke trake u fabrici gdje ih sve isto oblače, kvarcaju, montiraju i onda ih samo skida neko sa trake. Samim tim što radimo na ulici što svakodnevno kontaktiramo sa ljudima, onda stekne čovjek nekakve, recimo, sposobnosti, da na osnovu načina odjevanja, prepozna ljude odakle su. Bez da sam ja nešto sa njima pričao. I svakako da bi za nas bilo tipično su tamnije boje. U poređenju sa Amerikancima, Holanđanima ili Francuzima, koji apsolutno nemaju problem dai stariji ljudi dođu prilično ekstravagantno obučeni, žuti, kod

nas to sigurno nije. Kod nas to sigurno nije.Kod nas prevladavaju tamnije boje, neću reći crno, ali sigurno neštop crno ili sivo. I ono po čemu prepoznajemo naše, recimo ako sretnemo grupu mladih ljudi, ako su na eksurziji ili apsolventi, to su sigurno kod cura da dolaze u trenerkama. To je baš zanimljiv detalj, mi smo to doveli do savršenstva, svakako čim vidiš grupu da dolaze u trenerkaka, to su Jugosloveni. Znači, to smo do savršenstva doveli, tu sposobnost prepoznavanja. Mislim, mi znamo da tu nema prodaje odmah, ali kažem tri godine radim ovako i vremenom stekneš neke sposobnosti. Tipa, da ne kažem, da na ulici odmah prepoznaš Kineza ili Japanca, Koreanca ili Filipinca, što na početku nije bilo moguće, tako i ljude po načinu odjevanja, naravno postoje tu još neke stvari, na primer fotoaparati koje nose, već znamo. Ali da ostanemo kod odjeće, sigurno je recimo tamnije boje, ništa napadno, ništa upadljivo, trenerke kod mladih, eto tako. Mislim da treba napraviti razliku, stav koji ću iznjeti bi definitivno trebalo da bude mjerodavan za ljude mog nekog profila.

Za njih mislim da su prilično dobro integrisani. Dok za onu drugu grupu naših ljudi koji rade u firmama, imaju samo međusobno kontakt jedni sa drugima bez Austrijanaca, za njih mislim da su jedno paralelno društvo. Imaju određene vikendom, ako ostanu tu,kafane u koje izlaze. I to ne samo naši, nego i Turci i svi ostali. Samim tim što studiramo na fakultetu, tamo je većine Austrijanaca, imamo definitivno kontakt sa njima, nemam blokadu od izlaska u austrijske lokale i smatram to nekim stepenom integracije. Ima taj jedan sloj ljudi kojima je to nešto nespojivo sa njima. Moraš to razlikovati, šta znači ta integracija, postoje ljudi koji su se integrisali. Postoje ljudi koji su otišli možda predaleko koji su asimilovali, tipa koji daju austrijska imena djeci, ali kažem postoji i ovaj krug ljudi koji apsolutno ništa s austrijom nemaju sem da tu rade i ništa drugo. Po meni se Austrijanci neukusno odjevaju. Citiraću recimo Balaševića kad je komentarisao njiohove frizure, znaš to, pa bio je na koncertu u Austriji i onda je rekao, od onih Austrijanki samo su Austrijanci ružniji, šišaju se kod istih frizera. Po meni se neukusno odjevaju što podrazumjeva neusklađenost boja, po meni, znači, vjeruj da je najromalnija stvar da ćeš često vidjeti, opet kažem ne svi, ali ono što se često vidi pa ti taj detalj svakako zapadne za oko, tipa crne cipele sa bijelim čarapama. Ako vidim ljeti ljude sa šorcem i sa majicom sa kratkim rukavima i sa otvorenim sandalama i u bijelim čarapama, onda je to neukusno po meni. Ovdje je to normalan stvar. Drugo ne znam šta bi još izdvojio, ali recimo neukusno, recimo da je to dobra riječ.

Skoro sam čitao članak koji se bavio tom tematikom u jednim novinama iz Banja Luke gdje su oni analizirali konkretno političare kako je koji obučen i koliko polaže na imidž, od odjela preko frizure do obuće pa do olovke kojom potpisuju nekakva dokumenta, nemam pojma.

Mislim da su recimo Tadića visoko rangirali. Ja sam nemam predstavu kako se taj lik oblači, ali znam da su njega visoko rangirali. Recimo, iz Republike Srpske su Dodika stavili kao prilično neukusno odjevenog, vjerojatno zbog njegove konfiguracije, ali ja nemam nekoga koga bi izdvojio vjerojatno jer nikad nisam razmišljao o tome.

TV emisija, to su definitivno engleske „Mućke”. Literatura, nažalost u zadnje vrijeme samo stručna literatura sa fakulteta, a inače, od muzike volim domaći rok mada ne bježim ni

od kvalitetnih narodnjaka da tako kažem. Domaći rok u prevodu Azra. A kad sam reko da ne bježim od narodnjaka to znaći da mogu slušati, ne znam, Usniju Redžepovu, Tomu Zdravkovića, ali to je ono u određenim situacijama, u nekom sevdahu. Omiljeni film mi je „Bjekstvo iz Šošenka” ili „Društvo mrtvih pjesnika”. Ne mogu ti sada reći koji od ta dva. Literatura, to je kao i većini ljudi bio Meša Selimović, svakako Andrić. A od stranih, internacionalnih, Dostojevski. Ali kažem, na žalost u zadnje vrijeme samo stručna literatura.

Ono na čemu ja radim diplomski rad su plastično drvne mase, WPC, wood plastic comlex, prilično nov materijal. Kada završim fakultet mogao bih na primer raditi u Ikei. Ako gledamo sa poslovne strane, to je genijalna poslovna ideja. Zato je on, koliko ja znam najbogatiji Evropljanin. Ideja kombinacije drveta i metala koja je očigledno kod ljudi prošla, sa relativno dobrim cijenama, a šta mislim o tom stilu. Mislim da imaju i stvari koje su potpuno nepotrebne, neupotrebljive, ali koje oni prodaju vješto zapakovane pored nekih drugih proizvoda.

Stil ne bih posebno komentarisao, ali mislim da je poslovna ideja odlična. Svaka čast, uzeli su pare dobre.

Drago mi je da ti ovo bude od pomoći, da dobiješ te pare da to izvučeš do kraja. Držim ti palčeve. Ideja ko ideja mi je skroz OK. Čak ne znam da je nešto slično i rađeno. Ima naravno, bar ja znam za par stvari koje su obrađivali naši ljudi ovdje, ali iz nekih drugih uglova. Čak su to i Austrijanci pokušavali, da naprave paralelu između različitih gastarbajtera tipa Jugoslovena, Turaka, dnevnih gastrabajtera koji dolaze.

Mislim da je ideja super. E sad, ali nisam siguran, mislim da ti ova priča kod naših ljudi ovdje prilično teško prolazi, ako znaš šta ti hoću reći, da ćeš obradom stila odjevanja kod naših ljudi ovdje probuditi nešto u njima, tu sam ti skeptičan. Ti ćeš napraviti razgovor sa petnaestak ljudi, ali u samom Beču živi, po statistici 400 000 naših, tako da vjerujem da kod tih ljudi sa kojima si pričala ili si indirektno ili direktno bila u kontaktu, sigurno ćeš nešto, ali većini nećeš ništa, vjeruj mi. Ja ti držim fige, imaš moju podršku.

My name is Rajko Bijelić. I was born 29 years ago on 18 August1979 in Mrkonjić Grad.

That is the first town next to Banja Luka. I ve been living in Vienna for the past six and a half years. I am still a student, but hopefully not for much longer. I studied in Banja Luka for two years and then I decided to continue my studies here. I’m almost finished, have two more exams and the second half of my thesis. I’m studying at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, study group for Technology of Wood and Natural Fibers. As you can see, I’m working as Strauss. I’m Strauss, which means Mozart is my competition. I sell tickets for classical concerts at the Hofburg. People actually see us as representatives of Viennese culture.

I buy my clothes, to be honest, in shops which are kind of middle class. So I definitely don’t go shopping in shops that sell brands. I shop in Esprit or Peek & Cloppenburg, shops like that. Let’s say, middle class. Those are my preferences according to the price range.

When talking about my style, I would say mine is sporty. Maybe it could be more elegant sometimes, but it’s mostly sporty. The last festivity I attended was the presentation of the masters theses of my friend who studies at the Vienna Music Academy. So yes, I was definitely dressed elegantly, wearing a black suit and a tie. So, it was a black suit, white shirt, the tie a combination of black and white, black socks of course, no way white socks, black shoes, definitely not pointy ones. Black lacquered shoes, with shoelaces, definitely not with metal buckles. I wore Esprit perfume. I definitely spend most of my money on shoes.

I don’t think shoes are my most recognizable part of clothing. Let’s say I do it in order to have comfortable shoes. Let’s say if I buy middle class clothes, if I pay attention to the price, I buy really quality shoes. I buy mostly brands, not because it’s important to wear brands, but because they serve the purpose. Let’s say I wear Nike sneakers/sports shoes and always some orthopedic soles in my shoes, or something like that, for work. I say, only because it serves the purpose, not in order to….. I like open, strong colours, probably because I have such a dark complexion. I don’t have a problem wearing red, yellow, dark blue. My favourite colour, except when it comes to clothes, is definitely blue, sky blue, but not for my clothes. Besides that it is definitely that colour. Shoes mustn’t be yellow.

I get all goosepimply when I see “Krocha” style. Believe me, it’s horrible! You must notice it. My first thought is they must have been made in a factory where they’re all dressed the same, given a fake tan, assembled and then taken off the production line. Through my line of work, being on the street all the time, having constant contact with people I acquired an ability let’s say to recognize who comes from where, just by the way they’re dressed. And I don’t need to talk to them. What would be typical for us are dark colours. Compared to Americans, the Dutch or French, who have no problem with even older folks being dressed rather extravagantly, that is not the case over here, definitely not. Dark colours, not black, but something like black or gray are the colours here. And you can easily recognize people from “our” part of the world.

For example when we see a group of youngsters, like schoolchildren on an excursion or university graduates where girls wear sweat pants. That is a very interesting detail, which we have perfected. When you see a group of people wearing sweat pants, those are Yugoslavs.

We have really perfected this. We know that we can’t sell right away, but I tell you, I’ve been in the business for three years now and you can acquire some abilities. For example, I could not recognize at first who’s coming from China or Japan, Korea or the Philippines, so the same goes for the way they’re dressed. There are also some other things, like cameras they’re carrying, we already know. But let’s stick to the clothes, they’re definitely dark, nothing conspicuous and the youngsters wear sweat pants.

I think it should be differentiated and my position on this should be representative for the people of my profile. For those kind of people I think they’re well integrated. While the other group of “our” people who are working in firms only have contact with each other, not with Austrians. I think they build this parallel society. They have these fixed weekends if they are here, they go to their own restaurants. And the same also goes for Turks and the others.

Due to the fact that we study at the faculty, where Austrians are in the majority, we defi-

nitely have contact with them and I also go to places where Austrians hang out and think of it as a certain level of integration. There is this certain class of people who find that unacceptable. There is a difference, what is integration. There are people who have integrated themselves. There are people who have perhaps gone too far and have assimilated, like when they give their children Austrian names, but there is also this group of people who have absolutely nothing to do with Austria, except for the fact that they work here.

I think Austrians dress tastelessly. I will cite Balašević when he commented on their hairstyles once when he had his concert in Austria. He said that only Austrian men, who all go to the same hairdresser, are uglier than Austrian women. I think they dress tastelessly in my opinion, meaning they can’t adjust the colours. You will often see it. I’m not saying everybody is like that, but it’s common and it catches your eye. People wearing white socks and black shoes. When I see people wearing shorts in summer, short sleeved shirts, open sandals and white socks, I find that tasteless. Here it’s quite normal. I don’t know what else I would point out, but let’s say that tasteless is a good word for it. I read this article a short while ago in a newspaper in Banja Luka in which the dress style of politicians was analysed, who is dressed in what way, who takes care of his image, beginning from the attire, through hairstyle, shoes and even up to the pen used to sign documents, don’t know.

I think Tadić was at the top of the list. I myself have no idea how this guy dresses, but I know he was very highly ranked. Let’s say that Dodik from Republika Srpska was described as someone who dresses tastelessly, probably because of his build, but I couldn’t name someone in particular because I haven’t given it much thought.

My favourite TV show is definitely the British sit-com “Only Fools and Horses”. As far as literature goes, unfortunately I mostly read stuff for my studies. I like domestic rock music, but also good quality folk music. Domestic rock means AZRA. And by saying I don’t reject folk music, I meant I’m listening for example to Usnija Redžepova, Toma Zdravković, but only on certain occasions, when I’m blue. My favourite movies are “Shawshank Redemption” and “Dead Poets Society”. I can’t tell you which one I like more. My favourite writers are like for most people, Meša Selimović, of course Andrić. Regarding foreign writers, I’d name Dostoyevsky. But as I already said, lately I’m only reading for my studies.

The subject of my thesis is this compound out of wood and plastics, WPC, wood plastic complex, pretty new material. When I finish my studies I could for example work for IKEA. Looking at it from a business point of view, that is a ingenious business idea. That is why he is, as far as I know the richest European. The idea of combining wood and metal is obviously very successful and people buy it, the prices are relatively good. What do I think of that style? Well I think there are some things that are completely not needed, useless, but they are being very skilfully wrapped and sold next to some other products. I wouldn’t comment very much on the style, but I think that the business idea is great. Congratulations, they have made a lot of money with it.

I’m glad if this can be of any use to you, so you can make some money out of it. I keep my fingers crossed. Your idea is for me completely o.k. I don’t even know that anybody has done something similar to this. There are some things, done by our people here, but from some other angle. Even Austrians have tried it, to make the comparison between different “Gastarbeiter” (guestworker)-types, like Yugoslavs, Turks, daily “Gastarbeiter” who come over here.

I find the idea super. On the other hand I’m not sure, I think this kind of story wouldn’t be such a success with our folks living here, if you know what I mean. I’m pretty sceptical that you’d evoke something in “our” people here, by writing about their style of clothing. You will interview some 15 people, but there are statistically 400,000 of “our people” living in Vienna. And I believe that the people you’ve talked to, contacted directly or indirectly will be somehow inspired by it, but the majority will not, believe me. I keep my fingers crossed, and you have my support.

Ich heiße Rajko Bijelić. Ich wurde am 18.08.1979, also vor 29 Jahren in Mrkonjić Grad geboren. Das ist gleich die nächste Stadt neben Banja Luka. Ich lebe in Wien seit 6,5 Jahren und studiere immer noch, hoffentlich nicht mehr lange. Ich studierte zwei Jahre in Banja Luka und entschied mich dann hier weiter zu machen. Jetzt bin ich am Ende, habe nur noch zwei Prüfungen und den zweiten Teil meiner Diplomarbeit zu verteidigen. Ich studiere an der Universität für Bodenkultur an der Studiengruppe für Holz und Naturfasertechnologie. Wie du siehst, arbeite ich als Strauss. Ich bin Strauss. Das heißt, dass Mozart meine Konkurrenz ist. Ich verkaufe Karten für Konzerte klassischer Musik, konkret in der Hofburg.

Die Leute sehen in uns manchmal sogar Vertreter Wiener Kultur.

Ich kaufe meine Kleider, um ehrlich zu sein, in Geschäften, die eigentlich zur mittleren Klasse gehören. D.h. ich kaufe nicht in Geschäften, die Designerware oder ausschließlich Designerware verkaufen. Sagen wir mal, ich kaufe in Esprit oder Peek & Cloppenburg ein, oder halt in dieser Preiskategorie, was eben mittlere Klasse ist. Das wäre in Bezug auf den Preis und wenn wir vom Stil reden, dann würde ich meinen, dass ich einen sportlichen Stil vertrete. Natürlich ist meine Kleidung manchmal auch elegent, aber meistens kleide ich mich sportlich.

Der letzte festliche Anlass auf dem ich war, war die Promotion der Magisterarbeit meines besten Freundes in Wien auf der Musikakademie. Ja, ich war definitiv elegant gekleidet, in schwarzem Anzug und mit Krawatte. Also, ich trug einen schwarzen Anzug, ein weißes Hemd, die Krawatte war eine Kombination aus schwarz und weiß, schwarze Socken natürlich, keineswegs weiße und schwarze Schuhe, nicht diese spitzen, sondern schwarze lackierte Schuhe mit Schnürsenkeln, nicht mit diesen Schnallen aus Metall. Ich trug ein Parfum von Esprit. Das meiste Geld investiere ich in die Schuhe. Sagen wir mal, dass ich was Kleider anbelangt, eher mittlere Klasse einkaufe aber wenn’s um Schuhe geht, da kaufe ich sicherlich gute Qualität. Meistens sind das Markenschuhe, nicht weil es Markenschuhe sind, sondern weil sie dem Zweck dienen. Z.B. habe ich diese Nike Schuhe und für die Arbe-

it trage ich immer Schuhe mit einer orthopedischen Sohle, so was. Ich sage, nur deswegen, weil sie dem Zweck dienen und nicht damit ich .... Ich mag offene, starke Farben, wahrscheinlich weil mein Teint zu dunkel ist. Z.B. ich habe kein Problem damit, rot, gelb oder dunkelblau zu tragen. Meine Lieblingsfarbe, mit Ausnahme der Kleider, ist definitiv blau, himmelblau, aber nicht für die Kleider. Abgesehen von den Kleidern ist es definitv die Farbe. Und die Schuhe sind definitiv nicht gelb.

Der Krocha Stil gibt mir Gänsehaut. Glaube mir, es ist furchtbar! Das muss man einfach bemerken! Meine erste Assoziation dazu ist, dass sie alle von einem Fließband in einer Fabrik kommen. Dort werden sie gleich angezogen, künstlich gebräunt, montiert und dann nur vom Fließband runtergenommen. Aufgrund dessen, dass wir auf der Straße arbeiten und täglichen Kontakt mit Menschen haben, erwerben wir diese, sagen wir mal, Fähigkeiten, zu erkennen, woher wer kommt nur aufgrund der Kleidung. Ich muss mit den Leuten nicht mal reden. Für uns sind selbstverständlich dünklere Farben typisch. Während bei Amerikanern, Holländern oder Franzosen auch die älteren Leute absolut keine Probleme damit haben, ziemlich extravagant angezogen zu sein, ist das bei uns sicher nicht der Fall. Bei uns sind vor allem dünklere Farben vordergründig. Nicht unbedingt schwarz, aber so was wie schwarz oder grau. Und woran man „unsrige” erkennt, ist z.B. wenn man einer Gruppe junger Leute begegnet, wenn sie auf einer Exkursion sind oder Studienabsolventen, das ist sicherlich, dass die Mädchen Trainingshosen anziehen. Das ist ein sehr interessantes Detail und dieses haben wir perfektioniert, so dass wenn du eine Gruppe in Trainingshosen siehst, es sicherlich Jugoslawen sind. Diese Fähigkeit, zu erkennen, haben wir perfektioniert. Natürlich wissen wir, dass wir dabei nicht sofort was verkaufen können, aber in diesen drei Jahren habe ich gewisse Fähigkeiten angeeignet. Z.B. einen Chinesen oder Japaner, Koreaner oder Philipiner auf der Straße sofort zu erkennen, war früher nicht der Fall, so können wir jetzt auch die Leute an deren Kleidung erkennen. Natürlich gibt es dazu auch noch gewissse Details, wie z.B. die Fotoaparate, die sie tragen, aber wir wissen. Aber bleiben wir bei der Kleidung, es ist definitiv etwas dünkleres, nichts Grelles, nichts Auffalendes, Trainingshosen bei den Jungen, das ist es.

Mein Standpunkt ist es, und ich glaube man soll da unterscheiden, sollte maßgeblich sein für Leute meines Profils. Für solche Leute würde ich sagen, dass sie gut integriert sind.

Während die andere Gruppe „unserer Leute” hier, die in Firmen arbeiten und nur unter sich Kontakt pflegen, und nicht zu den Österreichern, die sind für mich eine Parallelgesellschaft. Sie haben diese festgesetzten Wochenendprogramme, falls sie da bleiben und Lokale, die sie frequentieren. Und das bezieht sich nicht nur auf „unsere” sondern auch auf die Türken und alle anderen. Nur dadurch, dass wir auf der Uni studieren, wo die Österreicher die Mehrheit bilden, haben wir definitiv Kontakt zu ihnen. Ich habe keinen Problem damit, in ihre Lokale zu gehen und finde das eine Art von Integration. Diese andere Schicht kann das total mit sich nicht vereinbaren. Das musst du differenzieren, was Integration bedeutet. Es gibt Leute, die sich integriert haben. Da sind auch vielleicht Leute, die es etwas zu weit getrieben haben, die sich assimiliert haben und z.B. ihren Kindern österreichische

Namen geben. Aber was ich damit sagen will, ist, dass es auch diese andere Gruppe Menschen gibt, die mit Österreich nichts Gemeinsames haben, außer dass sie hier arbeiten.

Ich denke, dass sich Österreicher geschmacklos kleiden. Ich werde z.B. Balašević zitieren, der ihre Frisuren kommentiert, nachdem er einmal hier ein Konzert gehalten hat. Er sagte, dass von den Österreicherinnen nur die Österreicher hässlicher sind, weil sie alle zum selben Friseur gehen. Für mich kleiden sie sich geschmacklos, weil sie die Farben nicht kombinieren können, also was du oft sehen wirst und ich meine damit nicht alle, aber was du öfters siehst, was auffälig ist, sind schwarze Schuhe und weiße Socken. Wenn ich im Sommer Leute in kurzer Hose und einem T-Shirt sehe, die offene Sandalen und weiße Socken tragen, das ist für mich geschmacklos. Das ist hier völlig normal. Ich wüsste nicht was ich sonst hervorheben könnte, aber geschmacklos ist ein gutes Wort dafür.

Kürzlich habe ich einen Artikel in einer Zeitung aus Banja Luka mit diesem Thema gelesen.

Dort wurde der Kleidungsstil der Politiker analysiert, wer wie angezogen ist, wie viel Aufmerksamkeit sie dem Image schenken, angefangen vom Anzug über die Frisur, die Schuhe bis zum Stift mit dem sie irgendwelche Dokumente unterschreiben, was weiß ich. Ich glaube Tadić war an der Spitze der Liste. Ich habe keine Ahnung wie sich der Typ kleidet, aber ich weiß, dass er an erster Stelle war. Aus der Republika Srpska wurde Dodik als ziemlich geschmacklos genannt, wahrscheinlich wegen seiner Konstitution, aber ich könnte niemanden besonders hervorheben, da ich mir eigentlich nie Gedanken darüber gemacht habe.

Meine Lieblingssendung im TV ist definitiv die britische Serie „Only Fools and Horses”. Was Literatur betrifft, lese ich in letzer Zeit ausschließlich Fachliteratur für die Uni. Meine Lieblingsmusik ist heimischer Rock, obwohl ich nichts gegen qualitativ gute Folksmusik habe.

Heimischer Rock bedeutet AZRA. Und qualitativ gute Folksmusik, die ich hören kann ist z.B., was weiß ich, Usnija Redžepova, Toma Zdravković, aber nur in besonderen Situationen, z.B. wenn ich traurig bin. Mein Lieblingsfilm ist „Die Verurteilten” (Shawshank Redemption) und „Der Club der toten Dichter” (Dead Poets Society). Ich könnte nicht sagen, welcher mir von diesen zwei lieber ist. Meine Lieblingsschriftsteller sind, wie für die meisten Leute, Meša Selimović und natürlich Andrić. Von den internationalen Schriftstellern würde ich Dostojewski nennen. Aber wie gesagt, in letzter Zeit lese ich ausschließlich Fachliteratur.

Meine Diplomarbeit ist über die Masse aus Plastik und Holz, WPC, wood plastic complex, ein ziemlich neues Material. Wenn ich mit meinem Studium fertig bin, könnte ich z.B. für IKEA arbeiten. Wenn wir es vom geschäftlichen Standpunkt betrachten, ist es eine geniale Idee. Deswegen ist er, soviel ich weiß, der reichste Europäer. Die Idee, das Holz mit Metall zu kombinieren, hat offenbar Erfolg bei den Leuten und ist noch dazu kombiniert mit guten Preisen. Und was ich von diesem Stil denke? Ich denke, dass es auch dort Sachen gibt, die komplett unnötig, unbrauchbar sind, aber die sind so geschickt verpackt und neben anderen Produkten platziert. Den Stil würde ich nicht besonders kommentieren aber die Geschäftsidee ist genial. Hut ab, sie haben da gutes Geld gemacht.

Ich freue mich, dir bei deinem Projekt behilflich sein zu können, dass du da zum Geld kommst. Ich drücke dir die Daumen. Die Idee an sich ist vollkommen o.k. Ich wüsste nicht, dass so was ähnliches schon gemacht wurde. Es gibt es sicher, ich weiß, dass einige „unserer” Leute hier einige Themen bearbeitet haben, aber aus anderem Blickwinkel. Das haben sogar die Österreicher versucht, eine Parallele zwischen verschiedenen Gastarbeitern, wie z.B. Jugoslawen, Türken und Tagelöhner, die hierher kommen zu ziehen. Ich finde die Idee super.

Aber ich bin mir gar nicht sicher, ich denke dass diese Geschichte bei „unseren” Leuten hier ziemlich schwer durchzuziehen ist, wenn du verstehst was ich meine. Ich bin eher skeptisch, dass du durchs Schreiben über den Kleidungsstil „unserer” Leute hier etwas in ihnen erwecken wirst. Du wirst Gespräche mit ca. 15 Leuten führen und statistisch gesehen leben in Wien 400.000 „unserer” Leute, so dass du bei den Leuten, mit denen du direkt oder indirekt zu tun hattest, sicherlich etwas bewirken wirst, aber bei der mehrheit, glaube mir, nichts. Ich drücke dir aber die Daumen. Meine Unterstützung hast du.

SLAVOLJUB JEVREMOVIĆ

Ja sam Jevremović Slavoljub, rođen 15.04.1987. u Petrovcu na Mlavi. Živim u Beču punih šest godina. Zaposlen sam u jednoj firmi i radim kao instalater.

Obožavam motore i član sam bajkerskog kluba „BABA ROGE” u Beču. San mi je da postanem pravi bajkerista. Patim za Srbijom i uopšte mi se ne sviđa u Beču.

Slušam Tehno, Hip-Hop,domaću i stranu muziku. Ne volim da čitam. Ponekad gledam filmove i omiljeni film mi je „Sin Siti” (Sin City). Idol mi je Brus Li (Bruce Lee), ali stvarno mi je idol. Oblačim se sportski i obožavam crnu boju, a ponekad prošetam i bajkersko odelo, naravno kad se vozam na motoru. Za svečane prilike se oblačim elegantno, uglavnom crna boja. Oblačim se u prodavnicama New Yorker, H&M i Nike šopovima. Modni detalj mi je sata a od parfema najviše volim crveni i zeleni JOOP. Što se tiče mode u Srbiji i Austriji, smatram da se naši ljudi dole lepše i sa ukusom oblače naspram ljudi u Austriji.

Was Mode in Serbien und Österreich betrifft, denke ich dass „unsere” Leute unten schöner angezogen sind, als die Leute in Österreich.

Zovem se Tatjana Martinović. Rođena sam 1.6.1988. Već sam udata. Školu sam završila. Srednju sam išla, ekonomsku. Htjela sam da idem dalje, ali onda sam bila zaljubljena i to mi je krivo bilo što nisam dalje išla. Sad nemam vremena, sad planiramo familiju i sad se selimo i uređujemo stan. Nemam vremena, nemamo vremena za nas dvoje, vidimo se tri, četiri sata navečer, volimo biti sa familijom, ne volimo biti sami.

Radim u advokatskoj kancelariji. Vlasnici su četvoro Austrijanaca, tri muškarca i jedna ženska. Radim kao sekretarica. Termini, organiziraš neki mitings, drukaš.

Otac mi je iz srednje Bosne, iz Travnika, oni su došli prije 32 godine. Tata kao prvi i mama došla kasnije. Mama je bila u Bosni, tata je ovdje radio. Onda je mama zatrudnila sa mojim prvim bratom, nas je četvero. Onda su došli oboje.

Oni su već dugo tu, postali su Austrijanci. Ne volim ić u Bosnu, volim ići u Dalmaciju. Imamo kuću na moru, sad imamo stan na moru. Roditelji mog muža imaju kuću u Baškoj Vodi, a moji roditelji kuću na otoku Susak kod Malog Lošinja.

Kupujem u Zari. Ja volim Zaru, Peek & Cloppenburg, Mango, Vero Moda, H&M. Monsoon, skupo je , ali tu volim kupovat haljine kad idem na vjenčanja. Zadnja svečanost na kojoj sam bila je bila krizma od moje sestre. Imala sam haljinu Zara koja je koštala 150 € , morsko plava boja, baš lijepo, ali ja sam je kupila kad je bila 39€. Imala sam moje vjenčane cipele koje su bež. Imala sam mali sako, kratak skroz kao bolero, isto bež. Imala sam perle. Ravna kosa. Make up, imala sam malo oko očiju, inače stavim malo maskare i sjaj za usne. Volim prirodno izgledat.

Dress-kod skroz ignorišem. Ja nemam kontakt sa klijentima i osjećam se glupo da se tako nosim. Drugi se svi drže, ne smiju džins, ne nose džempere, ja nisam nikad to poštivala.

Volim biti drugačija, jednom rečju ″Freaky″, nosim džempere, hlače, uvjek imam rep i ne šminkam se skoro nikad, samo maskaru stavim. Volim nakit, volim modu. Kad idem na slave, onda sam skroz druga osoba, onda pretjeram, haljine, štikle. Dok sam bila cura, mislim, dok sam izlazila, onda sam nosila štikle jako puno, što veće da su, bolje je. Desetku sam najviše nosila. Kako sam počela da radim u birou, prestala sam da ih nosim, nikad skoro. Volim da mi je komotno. Moram baš da budem raspoložena da stavim malo više šminke, malo ljepšu košulju. Pošto volim casual outfit, to je onda Hajdi Klum (Heidi Klum) koju bih izdvojila od poznatih. Volim da je široko, onako usko, ali ipak široko. Heidi Klum volim, koga još volim, Skarlet Johanson (Scarlett Johansson), nije natrackana, prirodna je.

Meni puno kažu da ličim na Britni Spirs (Britney Spears), al’ ja to ne vidim, jel ti vidiš? Oči, kosa. Ja sličim njoj kad je ćelava. Jednom sam imala žute cvike, poslje škole to, pa su mi rekli da sličim na Anastaziju (Anastacia). Imam ravnu kosu ko ona, stavim cvike i ličim na nju, nisam ja to pratila nikad nego stavim jer mi se sviđa.

Imam široke kukove, imam lijep struk i gore, ali to me muči, nemam Selbstbewustsein, kako se to kaže, samopouzdanje. Moj muž izgubi živce sa mnom. Prije sam bila malo deblja, nisam bila baš debela, ali imala sam malo špeka. Na moru me baš briga zato što na moru i smršam jer stalno plivam, ne jedem čak ni sladoled, izgubim 4 kila.

Knjige ne volim nikako čitat. Volim modu, ja odem u prodavnicu i ako i neću ništa kupovati, ja odem da vidim šta ima novo, šta se nosi, pa se po tome riktam. Volim „Šindlerovu listu” (Shindler’s List), to sam gledala već šest puta i muzika mi se sviđa. Ne volim romantične filmove. Igrala sam nogomet tri godine, igrala sam basketbal, volim se sa muškim više družit nego sa ženskima. Volim reportaže, „Exklusiv”, šta se dešava u svijetu. Obožavam plesat. Kad plešem onda sam opuštena, onda sam druga osoba. Nisam nikad voljela čitat, novine volim, ali knjige ne. „Watch the Sunrise” mi je omiljena house pjesma. Obožavam house i volim latino. Volim one što imaju malo rap unutra.

Ljudi se najljepše oblače u Hrvatskoj, moram iskreno priznat, mnogo ljepše nego ovdje. Žene pogotovo, ja sam oduševljena. Ja prije nisam skoro nikad išla u Zagreb. Moj muž ima tamo rodbinu. Ne volim da idem u Bosnu jer ja sam osoba skroz sensibel, osjetljiva sam skroz i to me pogađa. Hrvatska mi je number one, nije što ja imam tamo s kim izlazit, ali kad sam ja bila u Zagrebu, kad sam ja vidjela te cure, to su manekenke, visoke, zgodne, lijepo tijelo, lijepe grudi, ja pitam mog muža, jel smo mi u Zagrebu? Meni se čini da se žene u Zagrebu puno bolje čuvaju nego žene ovdje. U Austriji ima isto ljudi koji se lijepo nose. Moja mama se uvjek dotjerala, uvjek su je pitali gdje je šta kupila.

Bila sam u martu na honeymoon u NYC i nisam vidjela to što sam očekivala. Očekivala sam one ženske dotjerane, kao u „Sex and The City”, a vidjela sam neke debele, u pidžami idu u trgovinu. Kad sam došla u Vermont, tamo je još gore, oni idu u papučama, bosi, a hladno je bilo. Gore imaju jaknu, a dole otvoreni flip flop. Gore im je vruće, a dole se hlade.

Ne volim ljude koji se ne mogu integrirat, koji vamo dođu i žive taj seljački život. Jednom su prolazile dvije neke žene skroz pokrivene, i jedan im je dobacio :“ Nindža!” A ona mu odbrusi: „Nindža ti je ćaća!” Mi smo samo stali. Ili je rekla :”Jebo ti nindža ćaću!” Dobro mu je odbrusila.

Krocha, to ti je sad kao jedan moderni stajling, muškarci imaju skoro dugu kosu do ramena, uske farmerke u svim bojama, uske hlače u pink, u lila, zeleno, žuto, plavo, bijelo, i tako i majice, kape nose i odmah znaš da su to Austrijanci. Otiđi na YouTube, imaju taj ples, odvratno! Muškarci čupaju obrve, stavljaju maskare, kvarcaju se, nisu lijepo tamni nego narandžasti! Imaš one za koje odmah kažeš to je Austrijaner, kako mi kažemo Švabo, al ima i ono, kad se oblače standardno.

My name is Tatjana Martinović. I was born on 01 June 1988. I’m already married. I went to a secondary school specialising in economics. I wanted to continue studying, but then I fell

in love. Now I regret not having stayed at school. Now I don’t have the time, we’re planning a family and we’re moving into a new flat, which we’re redecorating. I don’t have the time. We even don’t have time for each other. We see each other for three or four hours in the evening and we like spending time with our family. We don’t like being alone.

I work for a law firm, which is owned by four Austrians, three men and one woman. I work as a secretary, organising meetings, printing stuff out and so on.

My father is originally from central Bosnia, from Travnik. They came over here 32 years ago.

My father came first and my mum came later on. My mum was in Bosnia at first, while my dad worked here. Then my mum got pregnant, they have us four children, and then they both came here. They have been here for so long now that they are almost Austrians. I don’t like going to Bosnia that much, I like going to Dalmatia. We have a house at the seaside and now we have a flat. My husband’s folks have a house in Baška Voda and my parents have a house on the island of Susak, near Mali Lošinj.

I shop at ZARA. I like ZARA, Peek & Cloppenburg, Mango, Vero Moda, H&M and also Monsoon, which is expensive, but I like buying dresses there for weddings. The last special event I went to was the confirmation of my sister. I wore a marine blue dress from ZARA, which was €150 but I only paid €39 for it in the sale. I also wore my cream coloured wedding shoes, and this short jacket which is also cream coloured, almost like a bolero. I wore pearls. My hair was straight and I wore just a little eye make-up. I usually only wear some mascara and lipgloss. I like looking natural.

I don’t pay attention to the dress code at work. I don’t have contact with the clients and I feel stupid wearing those clothes. All the others stick to the dress code, they don’t wear jeans, don’t wear jumpers, but I never cared about it. I like being different, in one word “freaky”. I wear jumpers, trousers, I always wear a ponytail and almost never wear makeup, except for some mascara. I’m a completely different person when I go to parties, then I overdo it, wear dresses, high heels. When I was a girl, I mean, when I used to go out, I wore high heels a lot, the higher the better. I wore mostly 10s. When I started working in the office I stopped wearing high heels. I almost never wear them any more. I like being comfortable. I really need to be in the mood to wear a bit more make-up or a prettier blouse. Since I like wearing casual outfits, I would choose Heidi Klum as my role model among the celebrities. I like broad clothes, somewhat tight, but also broad. I like Heidi Klum a lot. Who else I like? Scarlett Johansson, because she is so natural, doesn’t wear that much make-up. A lot of people tell me I look like Britney Spears, but I don’t see it, do you? The eyes, the hair. I think I look like her when she’s bald. Once I wore yellow glasses after school and people told me I looked like Anastacia. I wear my hair straight, just like her, I put the glasses on and look like her. I never used to think about it, I just wore the glasses because I like wearing glasses.

I have broad thighs. I have a nice waist and all above, but my thighs trouble me and I have no, what do you call it, confidence. My husband finds that very irritating. I used to be chubby, not fat, but I had some fat on me. I don’t care about it when I’m at the seaside because I lose weight by going swimming. I don’t even eat ice cream and I lose 4 kilos that way.

I don’t like reading books. I like fashion and I go to the shops even when I don’t intend to buy anything, I just go and look what’s new, what is fashionable and I dress accordingly. I like the movie ″Schindler’s List″. I’ve seen it six times already, and I like the music in it. I don’t like romantic movies. I used to play soccer for three years and basketball as well. I prefer male friends to female ones. I like documentaries, ″Exclusiv″, I like seeing what’s going on in the world. I love dancing, because it relaxes me, makes me a different person. I never liked reading books, I read newspapers. “Watch the Sunrise” is my favourite house song. I love house and latin music. I love songs with a bit of rap.

People in Croatia dress the best, I must admit. They dress better than people here, especially the women. I’m thrilled. I almost never went to Zagreb before, but my husband has relatives there. I don’t like going to Bosnia, because I’m very sensitive, very emotional and it’s hard on me. Croatia is for me no. 1. It’s not because I have company to go out with there, but when I went to Zagreb last time, when I saw those girls, they are models, big, good looking, fine bodied, have beautiful breasts. And I asked my husband, are we really in Zagreb?

I think that women in Zagreb take better care of themselves than women here. There are also people in Austria who wear nice clothes. My mum is well-dressed and everybody asks her where she bought her things.

We spent our honeymoon in NYC in March and I didn’t see what I expected. I expected to see well-dressed women, like in “Sex and the City”, but what I saw were fat women who wear pyjamas when they go shopping. When I visited Vermont, it was even worse, they go barefooted, only in slippers and it was cold outside. They’re wearing jackets and flipflops. Upstairs they’re hot and downstairs they’re cooling off. I don’t like it when people can’t integrate. They come to live here and still live like peasants. One time I saw these covered up women passing me on the street. Suddenly somebody shouted to them “Ninja!” and one of them shouted back: “Ninja is your dad!” or something like “Ninja f-ed your dad!”. She certainly gave him a good answer.

Krocha, that is one of the fashion styles right now, where guys wear almost shoulder length hair, tight jeans in all colours, tight trousers in pink, lilac, green, yellow, blue, white and so on, white shirts and caps and you know immediately, they’re Austrians. Go to YouTube, you can see the way they dance, it’s appalling! The guys plucking their eyebrows, wearing mascara, going to the solarium and afterwards they’re not brown, but orange! You have those people, for whom you can immediately say, they’re Austrians, like we call them Švabo (Swabians), but there are those who dress normally.

Mein Name ist Tatjana Martinović. Ich wurde am 01.06.1988 geboren. Ich bin bereits verheiratet. Ich habe die Handelsschule abgeschlossen. Ich wollte weiter zur Schule gehen, habe mich aber verliebt und jetzt bereue ich es, nicht weiter zur Schule gegangen zu sein. Jetzt habe ich keine Zeit dafür. Mein Mann und ich planen jetzt eine Familie, wir ziehen gerade um und richten unsere Wohnung ein. Wir haben keine Zeit, haben nicht mal Zeit für uns. Wir sehen einander am Abend für drei oder vier Stunden. Wir verbringen gerne unsere Zeit mit unserer Familie und sind nicht so gerne allein.

Ich arbeite in einer Anwaltskanzlei, deren Inhaber vier Österreicher sind, drei Männer und eine Frau. Ich arbeite als Sekretärin und bin zuständig für Terminkoordination, Besprechungsorganisation, drucke verschiedene Dokumente aus usw.

Mein Vater ist aus Zentralbosnien, aus Travnik. Meine beiden Eltern kamen nach Österreich vor 32 Jahren. Zuerst kam mein Vater und dann folgte meine Mutter. Mama war in Bosnien während mein Vater hier arbeitete. Dann wurde meine Mama schwanger mit meinem ältesten Bruder. Sie haben uns vier Kinder. Und dann kam sie auch hierher.

Sie sind schon so lange hier, dass sie zu Österreichern wurden. Ich mag nicht so nach Bosnien fahren. Ich mag nach Dalmatien gehen. Die Eltern meines Mannes haben ein Haus in Baška Voda und meine Eltern haben ein Haus auf der Insel Susak in der Nähe von Mali Lošinj.

Ich kaufe gerne in ZARA ein. Ich mag ZARA, Peek & Cloppenburg, Mango, Vero Moda, H&M. Ich mag Monsoon, auch wenn es dort etwas teuer ist, aber in diesem Geschäft mag ich Kleider für Hochzeiten kaufen. Der letzte besondere Anlass bei dem ich war, war die Firmung meiner Schwester. Ich trug ein marineblaues Kleid aus ZARA, das ursprünglich 150 Euro gekostet hat, aber ich habe es für 39 Euro gekauft. Ich trug die beigen Schuhe, die ich bei meiner eigenen Hochzeit getragen habe. Ich trug auch ein beiges Jäckchen, das fast wie ein Bolero aussieht. Ich trug eine Perlenkette. Die Haare trug ich gerade, trug wenig Make-up, nur ein bisschen um die Augen. Sonst trage ich ein wenig Wimperntusche und Lipgloss. Ich mag natürlich aussehen.

Die Kleiderordnung in der Firma ignoriere ich vollkommen. Ich habe keinen Kontakt mit Klienten und fühle mich blöd, wenn ich solche Sachen trage. Alle anderen halten sich an die Kleiderordnung, tragen keine Jeans, keine Pullover. Ich habe mir nie viel daraus gemacht.

Ich mag anders sein, mit einem Wort „Freaky”. Ich trage gerne Pullover, Hosen, die Haare immer gebunden und bin fast nie geschminkt, trage nur ein wenig Wimperntusche auf. Ich mag Accessoires, ich mag Mode.

Wenn ich zu Festen gehe, dann bin ich eine vollkommen andere Person, dann übertreibe ich sogar, trage Kleider, hohe Absätze. Während ich noch nicht verheiratet war, ging ich oft aus und damals trug ich oft hohe Absätze, je höher desto besser. Ich trug am meisten 10cm

hohe Absätze. Nachdem ich im Büro zu arbeiten begann, trage ich kaum hohe Absätze mehr, fast nie. Ich mag es bequem. Ich muss wirklich in guter Stimmung sein, um mehr Schminke oder eine schönere Bluse zu tragen. Da ich eher einen lässigen Stil mag, würde ich Heidi Klum als Vorbild unter den Promis wählen. Ich mag die Kleider etwas breit, auch ein wenig eng, aber auch breit. Heidi Klum mag ich, wen mag ich noch... Scarlett Johansson mag ich, weil sie so natürlich ist, trägt nicht zu viel Schminke. Viele sagen mir, dass ich wie Britney Spears aussehe, aber ich sehe es nicht. Siehst du es? Augen, Haare. Ich ähnele ihr eher als sie die Glatze hatte. Einmal trug ich gelbe Brille nach der Schule und die Leute sagten mir, ich sehe aus wie Anastacia. Ich habe glatte Haare wie sie, setze eine Brille auf und sehe wie sie aus. Ich trage Brille deswegen weil es mir gefällt.

Meine Hüften sind so breit. Meine Taille ist schön und alles oberhalb, aber die Hüften sind ein Problem für mich und deswegen habe ich kein Selbstbewusstsein. Mein Mann verliert die Geduld manchmal. Früher war ich etwas kräftiger. Ich war nicht fett, aber hatte ein wenig Speck. Wenn ich am Meer bin, mache ich mir keine Sorgen, weil ich am Meer eher Gewicht verliere, da ich sehr viel schwimme. Ich esse auch kein Eis und kann bis zu 4kg verlieren.

Ich mag keine Bücher lesen. Ich mag Mode und gehe in Geschäfte, auch wenn ich nichts einkaufe. Ich gehe hin, schaue mich so um, was es Neues gibt, was man so trägt und danach richte ich mich.

Mein Lieblingsfilm ist „Schindlers Liste”. Ich habe es schon sechs Mal gesehen und ich mag die Musik im Film. Ich mag keine romantischen Filme. Ich spielte Fußball drei Jahre lang, spielte auch Basketball und mag lieber Männer als Freunde als die Frauen. Ich schaue gerne Reportagen, z.B. „Exklusiv”, was so in der Welt passiert. Ich liebe es zu tanzen. Wenn ich tanze, dann bin ich entspannt, dann bin ich eine andere Person. Ich habe nie gerne gelesen.

Zeitungen lese ich schon, aber Bücher nicht. „Watch the Sunrise” ist mein Lieblingssong. Ich mag House und Latino Musik. Ich mag die Lieder, die auch etwas Rap enthalten.

Die Leute in Kroatien kleiden sich am besten, viel besser als hier. Da muss ich ehrlich sein.

Die Frauen besonders, ich bin begeistert. Früher bin ich kaum nach Zagreb gefahren. Mein Mann hat dort Familie. Ich mag nicht nach Bosnien fahren, weil ich eine sehr sensible, empfindliche Person bin und das alles stimmt mich traurig. Kroatien ist für mich Nummer eins und nicht deswegen, weil ich dort Gesellschaft zum ausgehen kann. Aber als ich in Zagreb war und diese Mädels gesehen habe, das sind alles Models, groß, hübsch, haben schöne Körper, schöne Brüste, habe ich meinen Mann gefragt, sind wir echt in Zagreb?

Mein Eindruck ist, dass die Frauen in Zagreb besser auf sich achten, als Frauen hier. In Österreich gibt es natürlich auch Leute, die sich schön kleiden. Meine Mama ist immer gut gekleidet und man fragt sie immer, wo sie was gekauft hat.

Im März war ich in New York auf der Hochzeitsreise und habe nicht das gesehen, was ich erwartet habe. Ich habe gut gekleidete Frauen, wie in ″Sex & The City″ erwartet, sah aber

nur dicke Frauen, die im Pyjama einkaufen gehen. Als ich in Vermont war, dort war es noch schlimmer. Dort tragen sie Flip-flops und es war kalt draußen. Oben tragen sie Jacken und unten Flip-flops. Oben haben sie es warm und unten lüften sie.

Ich mag Leute nicht, die sich nicht integrieren können, die hierher kommen und primitiv bleiben. Einmal habe ich zwei Frauen mit Kopftüchern auf der Straße gesehen. Ein Typ hat ihnen „Ninja!” zugeschrien. Sie hat ihm geantwortet: „Dein Alter ist Ninja!” Wir sind gleich stehen geblieben. Oder sie sagte: „Ninja f.... deinen Alten!” Das war eine gute Antwort.

Krocha ist ein moderner Stil. Männer tragen ihre Haare fast bis zur Schulter, enge Jeans in allen Farben, enge Hosen in pink, lila, grün, gelb, blau, weiß und auch entsprechende T-Shirts, dazu auch Kappen und du weißt gleich, dass es Österreicher sind. Schau mal im YouTube, dort kannst du ihren Tanz sehen, furchtbar! Die Männer zupfen ihre Augenbrauen, tragen Wimperntusche, gehen ins Solarium und werden nicht schön braun, sondern orange! Du hast solche für die du sofort sagst, ja das ist ein Österreicher, so wie wir sagen ein Švabo (Schwabe), aber es gibt auch solche, die sich standardmäßig kleiden.
