Since my childhood, Lego has held a special place in my heart – it was a favourite present to find under the Christmas treeandafavouritegametoplayinfree me.
Many years have passed and I rushed to adulthood. And so for many years the beloved toy was abandoned in a forgo en box, un l one Christmas Eve few years ago when, a er many years, I found a big ra ling box under the Christmastreeagainandlong-forgo enfeelings–excitementandchildishjoy–havereturned.
Since receiving this beau ful gi , I have rediscovered my old passion and my Lego collec on has grown, enlarged by numerousothersets.JustlikewhenIwasachild,Ialsostartedtocreatemyownprojectsfromthescratch.
I have become an architect because I had discovered my passion for construc ons through Lego. But it could have been so much easier if only I had become a Lego Designer in the first place!

At the top of the ladder, there was an a c filled with the scent of dust and memories, accompanied by the echoes of a past life hidden among the objects le behind by previous genera ons. The light streaming through a small window illuminated a corner of the room, where a beau ful wooden rocking horse stood—a toy that had brought joy and laughter to children for decades.
My Lego model, tled Rocking Horse, represents this meless toy cherished by children around the world. It has a retro aesthe c, featuring a steed adorned with an ornate saddle and bridle. The color pale e enhances its elegant beauty, comprising white, grey, dark red, silver, and gold.
I focused intently on the model's realism, propor ons, and historical charm. Each detail was cra ed with great care. If you look closely, you will no ce some crea ve uses of familiar elements: brooms serve as decora ve fringes, a bicycle frame forms part of the s rrup, and even a bunch of bananas is used as the horse's mane.
Number of LEGO bricks: 1608
The gentle rustle of the wind through plants res ng in their winter slumber, the snow blanke ng the last leaves and bare branches, the frost glistening in the shadows of the winter sun... And then, suddenly, other sounds emerge—the so creaking of snow beneath the strong hooves of the king of the forest: the majes c deer
I designed a realis c model of one of my favorite animals, the deer. The deer is unparalleled in its elegance, grace, and beauty, while also embodying strength and power. It is both a symbol of midity and flee ngness, as well as vigilance and speed. The model is set on a decora ve base that depicts a detailed winter landscape.
For me, it was essen al to select the right colors for the deer. Ul mately, I chose reddish-brown as the primary color and dark brown as an accent. The winter scene is created using LEGO bricks in shades of grey, olive green, sand yellow, and white. I aimed to represent the snow and ice as naturally as possible, incorpora ng many transparent elements. I deliberately avoided using blue tones to maintain harmony, delicacy, and realism.
To capture the animal's true form and propor ons, I studied numerous photographs and models. I used a variety of brick shapes, with curved and rounded pieces being the most helpful. Special care was taken to accurately depict the legs, body, and head. To emphasize the streamlined lines of the deer, I incorporated an element originally designed for gales and leaves. My goal was for the LEGO model to retain the elegance and charm of a real deer while being a beau ful decora ve piece suitable for any home.
This project is a real build, completed between January and March 2025. The final measurements are as follows:
Depth: 14.3 cm
Length: 30.5 cm
Height: 40 cm
P.S. If you look closely at the ornament on the stag's chest, you may no ce an unusual use of bricks typically intended for brooms cks:)
