1.1 ABSTRACT

Turbo, being the biggest municipality of Antioquia, is known as “The best corner in America” due to its strategic location in the Urban gulf, with an exit to the Pacific Ocean that enables the possibility of it being a port district. In addition to that, its climate conditions have improved the development of agricultural activities, making this municipality one of the most important ones in the banana and plantain industry of the country. Moreover, it counts with many ecosystems with huge biodiversity due to the merger between natural and water bodies, such as the mangroves that represent a huge ecological value for the country and the world. In view of those advantages, subversive groups have been taking over the territory for some time, causing violence and obliging people to migrate to more urban and outside areas. As the population and urban indexes grow, the situation is becoming more critical since people are facing unemployment, overcrowding, risk of flooding, lack of infrastructure, lack of housing, deterioration of the natural habitat, and more social, economical and political factors, that have prevented progress and the right development of the variety of communities and population. For that matter, this projects seeks to improve the environmental and life conditions of the people that have been affected by this issue, as well as upgrade the economical activities and the social relations with the environment. This will be made through a series of strategies applied to an appropriate, replicable and functional housing model, that contributes to reduce the housing deficit in quality and quantity matters in a specific amphibian neighborhood called “Los Pescadores”.
