Work Experience & Internships

Individual Expectations

Individuals on placement are expected to:

● attend the Branded Group workplace on the required days, at times negotiated with their

manager,

● observe the rules and regulations of Branded Group,

● ensure that behaviours do not endanger their health and safety and that of fellow team members or others,

● wear appropriate safety clothing and abide by Workplace Health & Safety procedures,

● notify their school/training institution of any grievance or dispute with the placement, and

● notify their school/training institution and their manager of any absence from the workplace before the absence.

Our Expectations

Managers of work experience individuals and interns are expected to ensure individuals are:

● always supervised,

● aware of all Workplace Health and Safety risks,

● inducted to Branded Group’s expectations and policies before commencing their placement,

● fully covered by work experience or intern insurance from their relevant educational institution before commencing their placement with Branded Group, and

● provided with meaningful work that exposes them to a wide range of workplace experiences.

Work Trials

We may undertake brief work trials of potential team members. These trials will only be so potential team members can demonstrate a particular skill required for a job (such as how to safely use a hoist) and will always be less than one shift in duration. These brief trials are unpaid.

Individuals required to undertake any work trials for one full shift or longer to assess their suitability for ongoing employment will be paid for all hours worked at casual rates in accordance with provisions of the Fair Work Act, and be subject to all our standard employment terms and conditions.

Induction

We invest time and resources to help each new team member learn about us and what we do, so they quickly become high performing team members. There is no second chance at a first impression.

We take seriously our obligation to ensure all our team members understand our systems, procedures and safe system of work. This includes all casuals or contractors, even if they are only on-site for one shift.

Before Team Members Commence

The Manager ensures that:

● they notify all team members of the commencement of a new team member,
