Company Profile

“Nothing is impossible!” With this central idea, Josef Rädlinger Sr. laid the first stone for a promising future in Cham, Upper Palatinate in 1963. Continuous expansion of the product range and company departments characterised the success story from the start as a gravel dredging and haulage company to a broadly positioned and globally active group of companies. Today, the Rädlinger Group has around 1,800 employees at several German and international locations. The company areas include the divisions construction, plant and machinery construction, trenchless pipe rehabilitation and electrical engineering. The company’s in-house vocational training centre BBZ makes an important contribution to the education and training of specialists in the region.

Rädlinger Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH The mechanical engineering division of Rädlinger is made up of the areas of construction machinery equipment, steel construction and contract manufacturing. The departments benefit mutually from the great know-how and experience of the employees, as well as the modern equipped machine pool on more than 17,000 m2. In 1988, the company division was formed as a second pillar of the

4

company group. Ideas for the development and optimisation of attachments for construction equipment arose from the practical experience of the Rädlinger construction company. Today, the mechanical engineering company is among the leading construction machine suppliers in the Germanspeaking area and customers throughout Europe benefit from the patented Rädlinger attachments. Excavator buckets, loading shovels, quick-coupler systems, tilt motors and other innovative products are developed and produced to the highest quality standards at the company headquarters in Cham. The company has a second production facility in Schwandorf in southeast Germany which produces independently and is especially geared towards the requirements of an efficient serial production with an ideal production line and appropriate machinery. The broad range of services is completed by the regeneration and repair of construction machine equipment of all kinds, as well as a comprehensive range of wear and spare parts. Additionally, Rädlinger is also a specialist in various steelwork constructions. From development to production through to installation, the department is a competent partner in implementing individual components and complete projects. Rädlinger Maschinen- und Anlagenbau also supports external companies experiencing staff or machinery bottlenecks with contract manufacturing or the complete production of assemblies.

Our strengths are your advantages: • First-class customer care • Practice-oriented order processing • Customer-oriented engineering • Innovative solutions • State-of-the-art production • Efficient logistics • Convincing product quality

5

Construction Machine Equipment

Only through a high-quality attachment, which is optimally complemented with the carrier device, can a construction machine develop its full potential. Performance and efficiency depend not only on the features and the power of the excavator or wheel loader, but crucially on the quality of the equipment. Durability and perfect application behaviour are the crucial factors which Rädlinger therefore commits itself to as the highest goal at each step.

Innovation & Performance Rädlinger Maschinen- und Anlagenbau was never a company to rest on its laurels. The strive for perfection, which is deeply ingrained in the corporate culture, stimulates new developments and drives forward ideas to optimise existing products. The company’s planning and development department, therefore, always works at the cutting edge of matters concerning technology, materials and software-based design. Always with the goal in mind of ensuring the efficiency and lifetime of the attachments, and increasing these to a maximum. In addition to traditional calculations, virtual simulations and software-based FEM calculations are used for this, through which the forces which affect the components in reality can be displayed. Potential weaknesses, as well as the potential for weight and material savings or for optimisations of volumes and application behaviour, can already be identified in the development phase.

6

Product Diversity & Service The innovative strength is the reason that Rädlinger produces customised designs in addition to proven standard solutions, and implements individual customer requirements for single or series production. The product range includes all-round tools with various application areas, as well as special tools for special requirements, and ranges from attachments for mini-excavators to large excavators with 300 tons of operating weight. In addition to providing individual product consultation and planning in close coordination with the customers, Rädlinger Maschinen- und Anlagenbau also stands by their customers and other interested parties as a supplier of wear and spare parts, and as a partner for repairs or regeneration.

Competence & Quality A high-quality product can only be developed if the entire process for this project is coordinated from the beginning on. This applies to the development of products, the purchase and testing of materials, the production and assembly of components and to quality control. Here, the high level of expertise, know-how and experience of the staff at Rädlinger are just as critical a success factor as the exclusive use of high-quality materials and high-strength steels in the particularly stressed areas.

“Our competitive advantage is the indispensable and close linking of experience and knowledge with practice. A high degree of awareness of the requirements of various application areas and a keen sense for different materials conduct the entire process of product development from development to optimisation through to production.”

Werner Rädlinger, Managing Director

E

Rädlinger Tilt Motor Application The tilt motor replaces the traditional tilt head with cylinder, and is thus responsible for the force transfer between excavator and bucket, and for the tilt movements.

PROFILE Features

The harsh conditions of the construction sector have already proven to be detrimental to tilt technology with cylinders found in the market. Damaged cylinders, worn tilt heads and bushings, jammed bolts due to lack of lubrication and, finally, downtime due to damaged or torn off hydraulic hoses try the nerves of the machine operator and cost money.

• Extremely robust through the use of high strength alloys/nitriding • Only provider with cast housing • Safe: the hydraulic hoses are routed directly to the tilt motor, virtually ruling out any damage to them • Bolts, cylinder and cylinder covering not needed • The motor is fully maintenance-free as a result of lubrication over the hydraulic oil of the grapple slewing gear • Screw-retained suspension for changing for various carrier machines • All these advantages can be exploited by installing the tilt motor on different tools, such as backhoe buckets, demoliti on hammers, ripper teeth, etc. • Wear-free: even after many years of usage, backlash-free rotary motion is guaranteed by generously dimensioned and hardened components • Maximum Rotation and rotary torque values • Integrated pressure relief valve prevents overload of the tilt motor

Extra equipment • Special seal on request to protect the standard seal of the motor for use under water or in fine-sand ground • Hydraulic seals are suitable for standard bio-oils

Robust quick-coupler: The system is composed of two components: the quick-coupler and the adapter for the attachment. The quick-coupler has a robust, closed housing with two stable hooks, with which the attachment can be lifted, displaced and positioned before bolting. Stable seating in the adapter The quick-coupler has mechanically finished receptacle and placement surfaces for the adapter. The adapter consists of the receptacle shaft and the finished crossbar plate with exact dimensional accuracy and high quality finish. After bolting, both sides form a solid, stable connection. Mechanically locked: The quick-coupler can be interlocked effortlessly and quickly with two crossbar bolts and mechanical dead-centre interlocking simply by using socket spanners. Hydraulically locked: A hydraulic cylinder with unblock-capable shut-off valve holds the crossbar bolts securely in position. Advantages over other manufacturers • Hook in HB 400 • Back wall adjustable by means of adjusting plate for exact fit (MS-10 - HS-40) • Constant application of pressure Special features Compatible with original “Lehnhoff” system JR Sensor Control (see also page 42) • Additional sensor-supported display of the secure locking status • Standard-compliant with regard to European standards in accordance with DIN EN 474-1 • Satisfies the Prevention Directives of BG Bau (German statutory accident insurance organisation for the construction industry) 41

JR Sensor Control - Electronic locking control system Application The electronic locking control system helps to make the operation of the hydraulic quick-coupling systems even safer, and minimise the risk of accidents caused by incorrectly-locked quick-couplers.
