This is a concept and idea about redesigning the outer socket of artificial leg based on mycelium materials.

The Mycelium act as a tree’s connector throughout the entire forest. Surprisingly, recent studies mentioned it can be one of replacement of a plastic. Beside, it can be a medium to plant a fungus later on if its toss away in the environment.

Interview & observation data from the visual impaired help the processes to developing initial shape and board form. In which to distinct it from a current cutting board in the market,
the guide of groove and attachment are included on the surface of the cutting board to emphasize on the ability of the visual impaired to following through by touch.So, the user could cut more evenly by themself.

In order to preparing meals and get the best nutrition by cooking in the kitchen, the blind & visual impaired in Indonesia must facing the truth of how vulnerable it is to chop and cut the ingredients.

Based on research “Food shopping, sensory determinants of food choice and meal preparation by visually impaired people, obstacles, and expectations in daily food experiences”
But, there is an opportunity that could be implied within the spectrum of visual impaired to develop a tools for ease their chopping and cutting activities due to their sensitivity of touch.
The developing of ideations and prototypes are validate using usability testing in collaboration with the visual impaired community.
Form and shape of this cutting utensils are based on the habits of the visual impaired to learn and getting familiar with the tools that they use.
Ci Cut are consist of modular parts. That can be interchangeable if needed.
