“It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our wonderful school.

We are an academic and dynamic school which fosters the well-being of each individual within an exciting, happy and supportive environment. Girls at AESG achieve the highest academic standards, but we believe that an outstanding education is far more than simply the acquisition of examination results. Our dedicated staff are highly qualified experts in the education of girls. They are extremely committed to inspire girls to aim high, achieve their full potential, whilst providing first class pastoral care and support.

We provide a challenging and stimulating learning environment and deliver an innovative and future inspired curriculum embracing the use of technology, thus fostering intellectual curiosity, developing creativity and a passion for lifelong learning.

We firmly believe in educating the whole person and believe that learning takes place outside of the classroom as well as in lessons. Visit the Art Department and discover ‘Sgraffito!’ (Italian for ‘Scratched’). A technique used in painting and pottery. Join us to understand the technique and have a go at this fascinating art form, you can even take your master piece home!

Delve into the world of Biology and see an exciting live dissection of a sheep heart and a squid! Ever wondered what goes into your food? Discover Food Testing in the Biology lab and find out how to detect carbohydrates, proteins and lipids! Look into a microscopic world and have a go at using our Microscopes. You’ll be amazed at what you see!

Rainbow fizzing, Elephant tooth paste, Methane bubbles and secret writing… Prepare to see colours and explosions in the Chemistry lab!

Computing & I.T.

Have you wondered how to programme and build a Quadcopter? Or how to snap together a VEX Robotics system, build a LEGO structure that tackles real life challenges or how to understand a pocket sized computer with Micro:bits? Then computing and I.T. is for you.

Design Technology

Explore the Design Technology department and learn the process of transferring ink designs onto different materials. You will be able to take away your own AESG Transfer Ink Bookmark at the end of it !

Drama & Dance English Language & Literature

Do you love to perform on the stage? Here in the Drama & Dance studio, we have live dance performances, scripted drama acts to watch with amazement, and you can even get involved yourself with our very own drama and dance workshops.

Create your very own blackout poetry, where you will find hidden messages and poetry written beneath the original piece of text! Be as creative as you like and see what fun poetry you can produce!

FoodWake up the Yeast Beast! We will be experimenting with yeast to see how it reacts with different ingredients. Do you know your fruit and veg? Put your knowledge to the test to identify unusual fruit and veg with different senses.

French German Geography History Mathematics

What colours are on the French flag? Who is the president of France? What is ‘Hello’ and ‘Goodbye’ in French? Come along and try our French Quiz yourself! Also have a reading from our Fortune Tellers and see what your French future has to hold!

Come along to the German Department, where we will be making German Schultüte. This German tradition is for children on their first day of school made by their parents and filled with toys, sweets, school supplies and various other treats to help make their first day of school that little bit sweeter!

Learn about the different measures put in place for natural or man disasters, what would you do in these situations?

Test your History knowledge with our artefact quiz and play online history games on Kahoot! You can also explore the Suffragette movement while taking your own Suffragette Selfies.

Test your brain with our fun mathematic puzzles, all while trying not to get trapped in the classroom with our mini escape room challenge!

Music

Do you see yourself as a music producer in the future? Join our Garageband demonstration, where you can cut and edit tracks to produce professional sounding songs!

Photography

See the Photography studio in action with our live evel Photoshoot. Understand how the lighting and cameras work and see a sample of A Level work after post production in photoshop.

Physical Education

We have plenty of sport to showcase, from fantastic trampolining routines in the Prep Gym, to a nail biting game of netball, AESG vs Macclesfield Pinks (6 7pm) in the Millennium Hall. Also our very own climbing club will be demonstrating techniques to climb up different difficulties on our wall We also have our Fitness Suite on show with students demonstrating the equipment on offer.

Physics PHSE

Which travels faster? The speed of sound or the speed of light? Come along to the Physics lab and find out!

What are you grateful for? Write it down in our gratitude jar to create a visual reminder of all the blessings in our lives. Learn about Mental Health and Wellbeing with our Cheshire Cat.

Psychology

Riddle me this! In the Psychology department we will be going through riddles and visual illusions to illustrate common errors in thinking, to show how the brain makes sense of the world around us. Also, how good do you think your memory is? We have a memory quiz to put it to the test.

Discover Government & Politics, a fascinating and fast paced subject that never sleeps! Learn how the oldest institutions in the world operate and explore the big issues in our society.

Religion & Philosophy

Explore the deeper ethical dilemmas of life and learn how the different Religions tackle these life questions. Also feel part of a community while making friendship bracelets, understand the process and see who you make friends with in the classroom!

Spanish

Express yourself while learning to flamenco dance, with live demonstrations of flamenco dancing, immerse yourself in the Spanish culture with the amazing dance moves!
